I happened to pass by Bugatti Bistro on my daily walk and spotted a sign for Lasagna Wednesday -- my interest was immediately piqued. We booked a reservation in advance through OpenTable to make sure we'd have a spot, and the process was quick and easy. Upon arriving, we were greeted and seated right away. Our server, who was doing double duty as host, was charming and friendly throughout the meal. Since we'd mentioned in our OpenTable request that we were there for the lasagna, he suggested a couple of starters and brought out water and bread with aged balsamic and oil -- yum. We went with the calamari, which was flash-fried to perfection. I'd been angling for the Caesar salad but got overruled by my wife -- no complaints there, though; it did not disappoint. Since our order was already set from the reservation, we skipped the menu entirely, and the lasagna arrived shortly after we'd polished off the calamari. Calling it one of the top two lasagnas I've ever had is not an exaggeration -- completely decadent, exactly what I'd hoped for, and worth the few days' wait to get a table. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu along with a cortadito for me and a macchiato for my wife -- again, outstanding. My wife pulled up the full menu on her phone while we waited for dessert, and everything looked great, so we'll definitely be back to explore more of it. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and impeccably clean. You'd never guess this place has been in business for over 40 years -- it's clearly been well cared for and updated over the years. First time trying some of the "Taste of the Gables" specials that I didn't know about until June of this year. This one is the first I tried and wasn't aware it was right next to Bulla which is another one on the list. Anyways, for $50 I got to order an antipasto, but me pasta and a dessert. First of all, the service here is top notch and they're very diligent. Started with a glass of Pinot Grigio and opted for these options... Antipasto: caprese. Simple yet fresh and made with high quality ingredients. That burrata was to die for to be honest. The olive oil has to be imported because you can tell it was made in a Tuscan hill somewhere in Italy, I think. But yeah you get the point...delizioso. Entree: Linguine con Frutti di Mare. Delicious seafood pasta with clams, calamari, shrimp tossed with linguine in a white wine clam sauce and tomatoes. Again, fresh ingredients without a doubt. And you get the regular portion. Dolci: cheesecake. It wasn't memorable to be honest. A little strawberry drizzle on the side didn't elevate it either so I'd just order a different one next time. The place attracts more of an older crowd and I see why. It's not super aesthetically pleasing to those who prefer the more boujie joints but sometimes less is more. read more

Even though Bugatti Bistro doesn't have a ton of reviews, don't overlook this place, it's been a Coral Gables staple for a reason. I've tried many Italian restaurants, and their lasagna (available only on Wednesdays) is honestly one of the best I've had. It's the kind of classic, comforting Italian dish that keeps you coming back. Visited on a Monday afternoon during Taste of the Gables. We ordered from the Taste of the Gables menu. Both of us had the Caesar salad for starter excellent with the added touch of sun-dried tomatoes that they put in it and fresh Parmesan grated onto the top to your liking. For entrée, we ordered the Fungi ravioli and the spinach Pomodoro ravioli both were great. For dessert you were offered a choice of a sorbet gelato or a coffee. I've been coming here for years and food is always excellent as it was today. My only complaint today was the service we had to wave a server down to order. We had to wave them down to ask for a to go box; we had to wave them down to order our food, then again to order our dessert, and lastly to ask for the check. read more

Bugatti Bistro. What a place. It is small but elegant. You'll feel fancy once inside. The decoration looks luxurious. The food was great. I went with a friend and ordered from the Miami Spice Menu. At $65, it's well worth it for a three course meal with a glass of wine. I got the Tartar Di Tonno, Risotto Alla Milanese Con Scampi, and Tiramisu. For the wine I got Prosecco because I like bubbly stuff. Let me tell you, the food was prepared to perfection. The tartar was definitely different. I've never had tartare with mango in it, but it does work. The risotto had such a flavorful taste and they offered Parmesan on top. I recommend getting some if you like aged cheese. And the tiramisu was phenomenal. It has a hint of orange. Also very different but it's fabulous. I like my coffee, so I did have a cappuccino with my dessert. I loved the presentation, and the ratio of coffee to milk was spot on. The waiter was super attentive, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. "We gathered the whole chaotic clan at Bugatti in Coral Gables to celebrate Uncle Pedro's 90th, and let me tell you, the only thing richer than the Parmesan croutons was the family drama! My cousin swore his Minestrone had secret ingredients (he's still convinced it was the fountain of youth, given Uncle Pedro's spryness), The waiters, bless their patient souls, navigated our table like seasoned navigators charting a course through a particularly boisterous sea. Uncle Pedro, meanwhile, was holding court, regaling us with stories from the 1930s while simultaneously trying to sneak bites of everyone's Scaloppini di Pollo. The Tagliatelle alla Bolognese was so good, even my usually-picky nephew was silent for a full five minutes - a new record! And the desserts! The Crostata di Ricotta was divine, though I'm pretty sure my other cousin tried to pocket an extra Tiramisu for a midnight snack. All in all, Bugatti not only survived the Pedro's 90th birthday celebration, they thrived! Delicious food, beautiful ambiance, and enough laughter (and maybe a few tears, but we'll blame the excellent wine) to fill 90 more years. Today I had one of the specials a pumpkin ravioli with pink sauce and shaved prosciutto. My family and I have been coming here for decades, and as you can see by the amount of folks who are in there every day - we are not alone. If you're from Miami, you grew up with this restaurant, and craving their weekly lasagna special (on Wednesday's) and Ceasar salad. I am in disbelief that I haven't written a review for this restaurant that I have been visiting since I was about 7 years old. Here we go. If you want great service and solid Italian fare, this is your spot. I love an long lunch here on a weekday, as its always prime people watching and great food. The Tagliatella a la bugatti is one of my favorites - as it comes with a light cream sauce , ham and mushrooms. I am a sucker for ham in pasta. You really can't go wrong with any of their pastas. Their mains are also divine. When I want to indulge, the risotto is one of my faves. This is truly a restaurant that feels like home - from the service to the portions and the ambiance. Like any good Italian spot, they have a tremendous wine list both by the bottle and the glass. If you walk down on Ponce, you may miss it. A Miami Institution That Keeps Rasing the Bar! I've been coming to Bugatti's since it opened in the mid-80's, and it has always been exceptional. Under new ownership by Carlos Amasefeen, it's reached another level. Carlos was the longtime maître d' who always greeted my wife and me by name with geniune warmth. Now as owner, he's elevated the entire experience - still personal, but sharper, more refined, and with a great sense of humor. He often seats us at the "VIP" table in the back - private, comfortable, and with a full view of the room. It's thoughtful hospitality that's hard to find today. The food delivers every time! The lasagna is simply put, the best anywhere. It used to be a once-a-month special (first Wednesdays), and now that it's offered every Wednesday, it's worth planning around. The pumpkin ravioli - ususally on specials menu is outstanding and unlike anything else I've had. My go-to is the Cinque Formaggi pizza. Perfect balance of five cheeses - rich but not heavy. Years ago, Carlos added arugula (rucola) to make it a little different for me, and it's now part of the dish. They should call it the "Carlos & Tony Cinque Formaggi." Pretty good dining experience at Bugatti. Service was excellent, water and hot bread came out just minutes after we were seated. Our server was excellent Started out with the following Carpaccio di manzo which was served over arugula and topped with mozzarella cheese. Good except served to cold which didn't allow you to taste the carpaccio. Caesar salad - very good, Bugatti adds roasted pine nuts and a few Sun-dried tomatoes and while I like a traditional Caesars they add just the right amount that enhances the salad and doesn't take away. And of course I had to add anchovies because what Caesars salad isn't complete without anchovies. Only complaint is that I was the Caesars was as cold as the carpaccio. The branzino with black risotto was one of the specials, it was in my opinion the highlight of the evening. Bugatti is known for handmade pasta so of course we had to order a couple of dishes. My wife ordered the Spaghetti Cartoccio was equally impressive, light, layered with flavors. I ordered a pasta special something like a fiocchetti or sacchetti, a pear filled pasta in a pink sauce. Amazing! I'm sure both pasta dishes will taste better tomorrow. Advised them this was illegal... host went back to speak with Manager then came back and said couldn't seat us due to Miami Spice Week. Dog is under 8 lbs. I've been eating at Bugatti since I was little -- it's been our neighborhood Italian spot for nearly 30 years! And, guess what, it's maybe even better than I remember it. Don't even get me started on the bread and butter... that crunchy bread. I was also always in love with their Bombay Ravioli (curry chicken with almonds), and it was just as good this last time. Lobster Ravioli was another big hit for me growing up, and I can't wait to go back and try it again. So delish! Look, this isn't like some fancy, hyped restaurant. Went for dinner during Miami Spice. They have a $45 and a $60 option. Ended up ordering à la carte instead because I didn't need an appetizer or dessert. There was an item on their Miami Spice menu that wasn't on their normal menu that I wanted and they were able to accommodate me. Food was delicious, I had a chicken parm. We ordered a bottle of white wine, which was also good. And then we paid and went on our way. Service was quick and the server was polite. Overall great experience. read more

Back in the day - maybe 30 years ago - this was the best upscale Italian restaurant in the area. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't appear to have changed much and it's frankly just "old." Too many heavy sauces and old fashioned, clunky recipes. And multiple chicken dishes on the menu? I can eat that at home. No veal on an Italian menu? Coconut shrimp as an appetizer? The food is decent, if nothing special, but the service is incredibly nice and professional. The decor is stuck in the late 1980's, although clean and organized. We were attracted by the name but didnt know everything could be so delicious. My boyfriend and I both ordered 2 pastas, it is sooooo good. Like one of the best ones we ever had. We have gone here for years - one of our earliest dates. Service was excellent as usual - why we needed without having to ask for it, but not intrusive. Atmosphere is nice, quiet, isolated enough that you aren't listening to others. Food is dependable and very good. Caesar salad is excellent. Pastas are very good. My husband and I have dined here more times than I can remember. They are a solid 4 overall. Their food is generally delicious. A couple of dishes might not be a 5 to us but that happens everywhere. Service has always been top notch and that makes us come back every time. Last time was Oscar and he did and excellent job. Food wise I highly recommend the creme brulee, their fish (mahi or branzino) with black risotto, the pasta con frutti di mare, the calamari fritti and the carpaccio di manzo. Oh, the ambience is welcoming as well. Not the super bright light that makes you feel you are about to perform surgery but not the extremely dimmed one that makes you take your phone out to read the menu. Great food and very relaxing atmosphere (based on the time we went at 6:30 on a Tuesday evening). We loved it!; from start to finish. Authentic and quality Italian food with a twist. The spin on the tiramisu was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. Amazing! Amazing! Although I understand they have been at the same location for 32 years, I had never been. The food was so delicious. We had the Carpaccio di Salmon for an appetizer. So fresh it melted in your mouth. I had the Linguine con Frutti di Mare as my entree. The sauce was light yet favorable and it mixed so well together with the abundant seafood. Yum! I was not able to finish it. I wanted to but couldn't lol. For desert we shared the raspberry cheesecake. Loved everything and our server Andres was so courteous and helpful with our choices. The courses were timed perfectly and temperatures were hot but manageable to dig in right away. Did I forget to rave a out the bread? I wish I could give this restaurant more stars but I can't. My wife and I like to do lunch for Miami Spice. This way we can try different restaurants and see which one we like for a repeat visit for dinner. We tried Bugatti for lunch. The food was good, waiters were nice and it looked clean. I paid for the bill and the price for two persons was $80, which was kind of odd. Most lunches for Miami Spice are $35 a person, so it should have been $70. I should have paid more attention but got distracted by weather and parking. Anyway, when I got home, I checked on the Miami Spice website to see what it says. Bugatti is available for lunch and dinner, and the lunch is advertised as $35. So, it is either false advertising, or they overcharged me. Which is odd as well because the bill said "lunch fixed price". A bit cheap for a restaurant to do this, especially this one with a reputable name. Too bad because we would like to have gone back for dinner, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I came for the famous Lasagna Day I kept hearing about at work, and it did not disappoint! The special comes with a soup or salad, both amazing. I got the corn and chicken soup special, so good and tasty! The lasagna comes in a delicious white sauce that is the perfect combo with the classic lasagna. It was pretty perfect, including the size. The bread was also amazing! Half is crunchy half softer bread. The soft is perfect for dipping in oil and vinegar and the more toasted bread is perfect to dip in soups. I also have to do a shoutout to our waiter Santiago who was so lovely, he truly made the experience that much better. He is also a fan of the lasagna and gets it every Wednesday lol. Came here after eating something small at a restaurant nearby and I ordered a frutti di mare and a calamari to start. It didn't have much of a taste and the lemon and sauce only did so much. I'm from Boston so the calamari down here doesn't really hit the same but it was okay, nothing crazy. The frutti di mare I couldn't get myself to finish... it tasted a little odd and wasn't really for my tastebuds, however, I did try to enjoy it to the best of my ability. Overall, this place isn't completely terrible, but it also is not that great. Not even just for the price but I could've been better off not coming here to dine in the first place to be honest. I was waiting for our waiter to come back to ask for the check and we waiting 30 minutes for our waiter to check on us. And then waited an additional 15 min for him to give us our check. read more
