Customer service here is terrible and had declined 100% in the last few years. I'm only giving this…read more2 stars because of how amazing Steve is and the sales team is. But everything else is just trash. I purchased a brand new boat last summer. I took it got to be winterized and to warranty fix my boat cover that started to tear. I picked it up and the fall afterwards and didn't look too closely. They fixed the button but not the tear. They also left greasy dirty hand prints and dirty foot prints all over my boat that were such a pain to clean up. I didn't notice the tear was till there until I pulled it out of storage. My fault for not looking at it when I picked it up in the fall. I had it brought back to fix the tear. They fixed it but they left my boat outside in the rain. To fix the cover. A bird took a crap on the back seat. They then didn't put one pole in and put another pole so tight they couldn't snap all the buttons and now another button is tearing because of it. I went to clean the bird poop off and it left behind a yellow stain that I have no idea how to get off now. Also when I picked up the bait my 7 by 5 pin adapter is no longer connected to the boat which I always leave connected. They also winterized my waverunner and when they disconnected the negative terminal from the battery they did not put the screw back in so I had to go find a new screw. They do not care about your property. I would not recommend you use them to take care of yours.

I bought a 2006 Mastercraft boat in February 2025, which seemed great at first--new motor, low…read morehours (approx. under 200), and factory ballast tanks. But after storing it at the marina prior to picking up for the first time, I found the trailer's guide poles missing, and while the sales team couldn't help, I replaced them myself. These guide poles are unique to MasterCraft trailers. When I tried towing, the trailer wiring was faulty. I fixed the ground wire and got it working. I launched the boat at my local dock, but on the first outing, the bilge pump started working overtime. I discovered the leak was from a wire running out of the transom. It took nearly four weeks as it was busy season starting the summer to get the boat into service for the local marina to fix it. Once back in the water, I found additional issues of two unsealed seacocks causing leaks, which I fixed with marine sealant. However, water kept accumulating in the bilge, and the battery alarm went off after an hour. The port ballast pump also didn't work. I took the boat back to the local marina, who later found an inboard shaft leak, a bad alternator, and faulty ballast wiring. By this point, I was frustrated--my family had only used the boat three times having to pull it out of water each run, and I'd missed great weather. Culver Portside Marina had assured me the boat was "water-ready," but they admitted it wasn't tested before sale when contacting them on the most current 3 issues being repaired and my experience so far. They offered no help with the repairs, despite me asking for at least 50% of the repair costs. The sale was "as is," per the owner of Culver Portside but these issues should've been addressed before posting sale or disclosed during the sale had it properly been tested Now we have a $1,300 repair estimate immediately after the purchase . I'd recommend anyone buying from Culver Portside ensure a thorough documented inspection and test everything before purchase, especially since it's mid-July, and I'm still waiting for repairs to finish. With school starting soon, it's tough explaining the situation to kids who were once excited upon hearing of the purchase. This was a boat they claimed to have been serviced by them the past few years.

I was fairly new to boating when I met the good folks a Terpstra's Marine. I was looking for a new…read moreSuzuki outboard for my (new to me) vintage runabout. Their price was a bit high but they were super responsive to email and phone. Ultimately I drove 4 hours to save some money with another dealer. Huge mistake!!! The other dealer kept my boat for 3 weeks (supposed to be 3 days) and rigged the boat in such a poor manor that I ended up bringing my boat to Terpstra's to get fixed correctly. They promptly worked me into their schedule, re rigged the boat correctly, quickly and for a very fare price. Plus they provided detailed paperwork and that helped me get some money back from the original Suzuki dealer I worked with. Terpstra Marine is honest and hard working. They got me back on the water quickly and added a lot of value and safety to my boat. At the end of the season I got the boat winterized by Terpstra and again they treated me like family. I will never take my boat to another dealer. These guys are awsome!!!

When I went in I have the intention to look for stuff for my husband's boat. I felt that since I…read moredid not purchase my boat from terpstra's I didn't get the customer service they would have given had I would have put that money in their pockets rather than another companies. They weren't rude, they just weren't overly friendly. And I spent a pretty good bit on just minor things. The products are quality, and nice, but I think next time I would rather go to Cabela's where people are a lot more friendly. When we spoke the first time we talked about his daughter and her being in the medical field I'm not going to say it was specifically what she does and where she worked and I won't disclose that either. But it's the fact that I listen to him he just really didn't listen to me. That's how I felt. Today of course I walked up to the front counter where his brother was, and he was very nice. He walked me back to where the salesperson was I asked him questions he hurried through it and said he had to go and catch a phone call. He never came back. The lady up front and his brother also helped me as much as they could. He came back out I asked him another question. Again he hurried through it and kind of brushed me off. He doesn't know if I actually would purchase a boat from them next time or not. so when he came to the counter the last time and still didn't really acknowledge me but made sure to tell the lady up front that he was losing out on money because he didn't have a specific item in stock. That was it for me. I won't buy an expensive boat from them because I do not feel like I am acknowledged or appreciated in this establishment. I wish there was another boat sales, service, and maintenance place close. But since thes not, I will just be going somewhere else. Unless it's something really minor that I can pick up from here. I'm just one of those people that like to be able to converse and get a little bit more information on things that I do not know about. I don't like feeling like I'm just another customer that needs to hurry up and buy. I bought two mounts because I didn't know which one to get. And I felt like he just didn't care. It's really disheartening, Especially when I don't know what I'm looking for. They seem to know what they're talking about but don't really help you to understand the things that you need. And until they can do that and make me feel like a valued customer I don't think I would patronize this business again. This was the main reason I left last week and purchased the boat itself elsewhere.
