Arrive at the dealer and I get this story... oh, we sold that a couple of weeks ago... we haven't had small fishing boats for a while. Now Is this a bait and switch, to get you into a middle of no where to a dealership, so we can sell you something else? Confront them on this. One of the owners comes out and says, it's not our fault! We don't control or list our fb sales, some one else runs their fb page sales. It is not their fault it hasn't come down yet. What? Did I hear that right? No responsibility... really! Now hell, I've bought and sold stuff on fb, taking it off line, marking items sold, is as easy as marking it sold and poof! It's recorded for all to see. I drive an hour and 15 minutes, to a middle of no where marine dealer, who it appears in order to drive business to their doorstep using a post to bait and switch boat ad's? Folks go else where... I can see by other comments, this place seems to have problems.

We were able to get them unlocked and limp the boat to the boat dock to unload the boat. I called Sherm's and explained our situation to them and they said to bring it on over. They were wonderful to fit us in and fix the problem. They even told me to leave the trailer there and go enjoy the afternoon boating with my family like we had all planned. They even stayed past their closing time to make sure we would have a safe trip back home. Wonderful, wonderful people and service!!

Our family nearly sank in Lake Michigan because water flooded the engine compartment as well as noxious fumes caused what we found to be a cracked carbon ring and melted resonator. In addition, our bilge pump was clogged with degree because they didn't not protect our boat while it was with them for more than a year. Bad combo. We could have all died, we lost two summers on our boat from their incompetence and they charged us thousands of dollars for parts and labor we did not agree to. It's been a nightmare to work with Fays Marina. Don't put yourself through it. We are still fighting them and I will not stop until they make it right.

They wouldn't let me speak with Lund directly either. On top of that they left my boat uncovered outside to get snowed and rained on in the winter. They were very unpleasant to deal with especially the service guy Don. Over all they didn't seem to have their customers back and I will not be doing business with them again.

I was fairly new to boating when I met the good folks a Terpstra's Marine. I was looking for a new…read moreSuzuki outboard for my (new to me) vintage runabout. Their price was a bit high but they were super responsive to email and phone. Ultimately I drove 4 hours to save some money with another dealer. Huge mistake!!! The other dealer kept my boat for 3 weeks (supposed to be 3 days) and rigged the boat in such a poor manor that I ended up bringing my boat to Terpstra's to get fixed correctly. They promptly worked me into their schedule, re rigged the boat correctly, quickly and for a very fare price. Plus they provided detailed paperwork and that helped me get some money back from the original Suzuki dealer I worked with. Terpstra Marine is honest and hard working. They got me back on the water quickly and added a lot of value and safety to my boat. At the end of the season I got the boat winterized by Terpstra and again they treated me like family. I will never take my boat to another dealer. These guys are awsome!!!

They weren't rude, they just weren't overly friendly. And I spent a pretty good bit on just minor things. The products are quality, and nice, but I think next time I would rather go to Cabela's where people are a lot more friendly. When we spoke the first time we talked about his daughter and her being in the medical field I'm not going to say it was specifically what she does and where she worked and I won't disclose that either. But it's the fact that I listen to him he just really didn't listen to me. That's how I felt. Today of course I walked up to the front counter where his brother was, and he was very nice. He walked me back to where the salesperson was I asked him questions he hurried through it and said he had to go and catch a phone call. He never came back. The lady up front and his brother also helped me as much as they could. He came back out I asked him another question. Again he hurried through it and kind of brushed me off. He doesn't know if I actually would purchase a boat from them next time or not. so when he came to the counter the last time and still didn't really acknowledge me but made sure to tell the lady up front that he was losing out on money because he didn't have a specific item in stock. That was it for me. I won't buy an expensive boat from them because I do not feel like I am acknowledged or appreciated in this establishment. I wish there was another boat sales, service, and maintenance place close. But since thes not, I will just be going somewhere else. Unless it's something really minor that I can pick up from here. I'm just one of those people that like to be able to converse and get a little bit more information on things that I do not know about. I don't like feeling like I'm just another customer that needs to hurry up and buy. I bought two mounts because I didn't know which one to get. And I felt like he just didn't care. It's really disheartening, Especially when I don't know what I'm looking for. They seem to know what they're talking about but don't really help you to understand the things that you need. And until they can do that and make me feel like a valued customer I don't think I would patronize this business again. This was the main reason I left last week and purchased the boat itself elsewhere.
