In addition to being ripped off $$$$ by Fays while our fairly new boat was being serviced for one alarm code, Fays did additional damage to our boat by not running water on our jet engines while they tested it over the year+ that they had it in service. Our family nearly sank in Lake Michigan because water flooded the engine compartment as well as noxious fumes caused what we found to be a cracked carbon ring and melted resonator. In addition, our bilge pump was clogged with degree because they didn't not protect our boat while it was with them for more than a year. Bad combo. We could have all died, we lost two summers on our boat from their incompetence and they charged us thousands of dollars for parts and labor we did not agree to. It's been a nightmare to work with Fays Marina. Don't put yourself through it. We are still fighting them and I will not stop until they make it right. read more

This was something I will not forget. Brought my boat in for engine problems. I didn't get it back for two months. Communication was horrible. They took my boat out after they said they fixed it for a test run on lake and then broke down and charged me $360 for a test on on my boat they hadn't still fixed. They didn't even advise me of this till after it happened. This boat is 1.5 years old. They then promised to have my boat back for a weekend all my friends were in town and didn't deliver so I asked if they had a boat I could use. The owner then wanted to charge me $500 a day to use one. I will never make this mistake again. Could not have had worse experience. dropped ponto off in February to have engine checked out, gone through, tuned up and give the pontoon overall a good once over and ready for summer. I don't want to bore you with all the details as I could right a book on how awful the service was, long story short, $3500 spent and our engine doesn't run, leaking gas and the part it needs isn't available and won't ever be... they didn't want to take care of it at all inst they defending there work with Randy telling me they dont start engines before they leave there shop and wade telling me they do... all lies and wouldnt give them another dime... so if you are planning to take you're boat there for service I would ask you WHY? our ponto has since been moved to port side marina in culver and for few hundred dollar, tuned the carbs that were way out, had a work around for part that we can't buy and fixed the volt and tach gauge that didn't work. 4 days later not months like fays marina our boat is ready for summer! Bad customer service and rude!! So the owner of this place calls me last night and asks .e why i gave them a bad review. I told him besides the terrible trade value they offered me. The guy told me they have to make fu++ing money too ( always nice to hear from a guy that is trying to sell you a new boat). After that the owner said i will send you the trade value list and give you what it says. So after they sent it to me today and the first one was the wrong year. I call and let him know. Then they send me the new one. They went from 5000 to 6083 within 24 hours because of a bad review. Kinda sad you have to write a bad review for them to even try and give you fair price. What makes it even better is that they still wasnt giving fair price for it. The dealer 30 miles away offered 7000 and they have the same boats for 4000 cheaper Anyone that is reading this i qas trading in a 2019 waverunner with 8 hours on it. Very nice before the sale, totally helpless afterwards. I bought a brand new, $3300 Husqvarna ZTR and upon delivery immediately have problems. They didn't bother to put any fuel at all in a brand new machine, and wouldn't accept a return even though I hadn't used the machine yet. Husqvarna is equally useless customer service and despite owning a number of other Husqvarna products, I'll definitely never buy another one. Avoid Husqvarna and Fays marina like the plague. read more

took back my dinghy that they had over the winter. they said they did the spring launch check but when I got it back home. Was going to launch it for the season, but when I started the outboard no water was getting thru. So I ttook it back and they checked it and said the impellor was bad. Keep in mind that this Honda outboard only has about 4 hours of run time on it. I just can not figure how a water impellor goess out that quick. they told me that they will try to have it done by July fourth weekend. Now 3 weeks later they finally got it done and they billed me $624. for a water impellor and labor. That is ridiculous. It shouldn't cost that much for an impellor. Went an looked at a boat Saturday. Created a invoice and was waiting on the parts dept to look up with vendors for fish finders an a trolling motor. Said they would call me back Tuesday with all the numbers to finish the deal. In the meantime they sell the boat to someone else with ever calling me back. Very unprofessional to say the least. Today 4/26/2022 I took my 2018 Yamaha wave runner in because the unit will not start. I dropped it off at 8:00am this morning. At 1:00 pm i received a call from Wade. He tells me that they need another 1.5 hours to figure out the problem. I explained that i thought it was a fuse that was blown. Wade says " If you thought it was a fuse, why the hell did you not change it". REALLLLLY!! Clearly it is not that easy to change the fuse if you have to charge that much to just figure out that it is a fuse. I ask to speak to a manager, Wade puts me on hold. I am on hold for 15min and then call Fays on a different line and learn that the manager was out for lunch. Clearly the manager would not be picking up the phone. THIS PLACE CLAIMS TO BE A HOMETOWN RUN BUSINESS AND I BEG TO DEFER. STAY CLEAR!! TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! TELL EVERYONE!! DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT DEAL WITH WADE. In a day and age where "ain't nobody got time,". Ed was nice enough to take an hour to explain many different things to me about many different issues! I took a propeller in to be repaired and was quoted a price of "around $80". When I picked up the propeller the next week the cost was $294. The answer when asked why the difference was "it just cost more than we thought.". I asked why I didn't get an option to not have it repaired before they decided to spend my $294 (after all, I could get a brand new one for about the same amount) and the reply was they don't have a process in place for that. Bottom line: they took my prop, said it would be $80 dollars, they wouldn't give it back to me till I gave them $$294. While in the shop talking to the service rep, we were interrupted over a dozen times and everyone else's problems/issues/questions were resolved before mine, as if I was the least of their problems. I would not recommend Faye's to anyone. I feel they are inherently dishonest in their estimates and don't care about their customers. read more

Took our boat in for repair after putting in 2 gallons of fuel to make sure we weren't just out of gas. When we picked up the boat and launched it, we noticed the gas gage indicted low fuel. Then we ran out of gas before going half way across the lake to our dock! Who uses up fuel when repairing a boat and doesn't tell the customer? Bad business!! read more

I would not recommend Fays Marina to anyone, We put $2500.00 down and signed a contract at the Chicago boat show, They called 2 days later and said they made a mistake and we owe $4500.00 more on a 2013 bayliner ( brand New). I said we have a signed contract with the agreed upon price, He said that he did not sign the contract. Pretty Shady practice. I went to fays( 50 minutes away) to look at my boat and there was yet another price tag on my boat, Lower than my agreed on price. He said that's the wrong price. I saw 3 different prices within 4 days. I got my $2500.00 back and will never purchase anything from Fays Marina and highly recommend nobody else does either. read more

STAY AWAY FROM FAYS , FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ETC. , THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND RIP YOU OFF, took my boat in for a small weld job and asked the to winterize also , originally told would take a week , when I dropped it off suddenly now its 4 weeks, but since I already made the trip decided to leave it , 3weeks go by hadn't heard anything , so I call going to be another week , ok no problem , then get a call boat is in service dept wont start ,ran perfect all summer and when brought it in , 2 days go by no phone call ,so I call its needs a starter solenoid $130 ,couldn't believe it , $12.95 part new on ebay ,so told the to go ahead cant start it to winterize it , the original quote was $175 to do the welding and winterize , I call to see if done they tell me yes, bill is $302 , and no welding was done , they don't even have any to do aluminum welding , that's the main reason it was taken there and they knew that , unreal horrible experience , they only have a 2 1/2 star rating and by reading the negative comments its easy to see why read more

Please trust me on this review. I urge you to search elsewhere for a boat than Fay's. I personally just bought a boat for $50,000 in May, come to find out the next day that it needed a $5,000 fix. Fay's insisted that the problem was not present when they sold it to me. After trying to work with Fay's for the past few months, and my new boat being basically out of commission for the entire summer, absolutely nothing has been done about it. Promise after promise, Fay's told me they would contact the manufacturer and nothing ever came out of it. I made 2 trips up to Fay's from Indianapolis (6 hours driving each time) on separate occasions to try to work this out, and nobody was available to help me, even after they claim that they ALWAYS have a manager on site. Each phone call and personal visit I made, I was completely mature and never showed a bit of disrespect. And each time, I was returned with another promise that wasn't fulfilled. I give up. I made a call to the Sales Dept. and Elizabeth answered the phone. This was on a Friday. I inquired about jon boats and stated that I saw their ad on Craigslist. I told her that I needed 5 Lowe 1436 jons. Elizabeth stated that they had a single boat in stock and that she would check with their boat rep and call me back in a few days or email me. Sounds good to me. 6 days later I have to call her back. She said that the owner ordered 5 jon boats - 3 1436's and 2 1236's. Hmmm...apparently something got lost in the translation because 3 + the 1 they had on hand = 4 boats. Also, apparently no volume discount since jons are utility boats and they only make $50 apiece on them. Can understand that. However, the hidden cost NOT mentioned in the Craigslist ad is the additional $96 for handling fees. I would've been OK pay $200 for handling fees but she insisted the owner wanted $96/boat. That was the deal breaker right there. It seems that Fay's didn't take care of business today nor did they take care of business for tomorrow. I realized that dropping $4K for boats may not mean much versus a $30K - $40K unit, but the way the situation was handled really irritated me. I will end up buying 5 or 6 boats, just not ever from Fay's. It seems the customer is not important enough. read more
