NIPSCO said that I needed an electrician to reattach the wire as it was not their responsibility to do such work. Enter Chris and Kurt - what a team! They work very well together and assessed my problem and gave me two estimates. They suggested to me that I go with option one and gave me a 1 year guarantee that if that didn't hold, they'd come back and provide option 2 and give me credit for what I already paid. They were very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all my questions. I'm very satisfied with the work they did and think their pricing was quite reasonable. No phone call, no update, no explanation. I had to call them to find out what was wrong with my own mower. When I finally spoke with Ron, the service manager, he was short, dismissive, and unwilling to answer my questions about why a major component would fail after only two months or whether I had any options for an exchange or refund. Then my husband called, and suddenly the mower was ready for pickup. The oil change and blade sharpening I requested were never done. The manager offered excuses instead of accountability, including telling me weekends "don't count" as part of the nearly three weeks they had my mower. I bought a brand-new mower because I have a large property and needed reliable equipment. Instead, I got a major mechanical failure after two months, weeks without my mower during peak mowing season, poor communication, and dismissive customer service. Spending over $4,000 apparently does not guarantee reliable equipment or basic customer service at TERPSTRA'S. I will take my business elsewhere and would not recommend their sales or service department.

Called them, left voicemail. Tried calling them again the following morning, got the voicemail…read moreagain. Gave up as there was no response within a day. So I called another repair company. After making an appointment with someone else, someone I assume is Roger called me finally. The call did not go well. I stated: well, sir I never got a call back from you, so I arranged an appointment with someone else. He claimed I didn't leave a message. I said I did, yesterday... He then said "Oh, yeah...I was just about to call you back about that"...to which I responded, I needed the work done, and 20 hours had passed. He then said he didn't respond because I left the message "after hours"... I pointed out: I left the message at 10AM the previous day. He then acquiesced and stubbornly said "have a nice day". If you want business, return messages. If you want business, make sure you have a single phone number people can reach you at. (there's about 3 for this guy if you search the web)...but most importantly, if you want business...don't argue with a potential customer, or make excuses. Part of being in the service business, or any business is the skill of knowing when to own your mistakes. This was a pretty ridiculous experience.
