Also ordered customized sugar cookies and macaroons. The sugar cookie was the worse, it had no flavor and tasted so bad, so skip these, and not to say they cost $5 each. Ordered a cake here for a friends birthday and they have alot of design options available and yoh are able to tweak it according to your liking and for the style I chose which was a custom design it was 6" for $60 and 8" for $80 which I thought was very reasonable (custom cake ain't cheap) and it was comparable to the other custom cake shops that I normally go to. Their cake here is really good, fresh and moist. I ordered a green tea cake with green tea cream and strawberry... strawberries weren't in season so it wasn't their fault that it wasn't super sweet but I was actually able to taste the green tea and the green tea in the cream... the taro cake that another person ordered from the same place was a hit with everyone also... the design I initially chose I didn't like certain aspects of it and asked that they remove certain things... and gave them free reign they customized it and made it even better. I really do not want to give E's Cake anything lower than a 4-star rating. E's Cake has been my go-to for all my custom cakes the past few years. I'm not sure if they are just overly busy nowadays but this is the second time in a row that they got my cake wrong. I didn't make a big deal for the previous cake since it still worked for my purpose and theme. Plus, it's the first time that they made a mistake compare to all the other times that I left as a satisfied customer. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back to them this time for my baby shower cake order. But they made a HUGE mistake this time and it was really upsetting for me. I asked for light green and blush pink colors for my cake and cupcakes. I went in person to place my order, explained the colors clearly to the lady, and sent her a sample photo (see attached photo) for reference. On the day of my baby shower, I received pink & BLUE cupcakes (see attached photo)! I am having a baby girl and blue is the worst color I can have at my baby shower! The cake and cupcakes were delivered to the venue the day of my event and there was nothing I can do. Not only did the desserts not match my theme but guests were questioning why the cupcakes were blue (they know I'm having a girl). The venue even asked if I was doing a gender reveal! I was utterly disappointed and I just don't understand how they could've gotten the color wrong. Our son's 1st birthday cake came out absolutely PERFECT!!! We cannot say enough about the amazing job Kelly and her staff did for our baby boy's cake. As our son's 1st birthday approached, we began our search for a custom cake shop. We contacted a few in the South Brooklyn area, but none of them could create the design we wanted with the ingredients required or either they were just too expensive with a lot of question marks. When we first contacted Kelly through their listed number, we were unsure of how to begin the process, but she worked with us through WeChat as we submitted to her our own rendering of the cake and similar designs. She sent us a menu for custom cakes that they had, which included the different ingredients that could be used. She sent us a menu for a Butter Cake and one for a Sponge Cake. For the Butter Cake menu, she had the flavors that she could make listed for the cake, as well as, the cream. For the Sponge Cake, she also had the Sponge Cake flavors listed plus the fresh cream filling flavors and the type of filling we wanted. The fact that she had a custom cake menu made it all the more easier for us to make decisions on the interior of the cake. On the day that I picked up the cake, I arrived at their shop at 11AM. Apparently, there had been a miscommunication on the timing of when we were going to pick up the cake during the day, BUT thankfully, our cake was already made! Whewwwwwww! Kelly and her staff brought the cake out, showed me the details of it and I was flabbergasted at how closely it resembled our rendering/vision of it! I couldn't have been happier with how it came out when I was in the shop. The exterior of the cake was an A+, how about the interior you might ask? Well, we ordered a custom green tea sponge cake with vanilla fresh cream and strawberry filling. For those familiar with special occasion/birthday sponge cakes sold at Chinese bakeries, the interior's texture won't surprise you. And, honestly, my expectations were average for the interior because I've had these type of sponge cakes before for celebrations. Also, I was more concerned with the presentation of it, but once again, I was SHOCKED at how good the cake tasted. The green tea flavoring with the vanilla fresh cream and strawberry filling was excellent. It was maybe the best sponge cake I have ever had, flavor wise. It was so good, we had members of our family go for seconds of the cake, which they never do, and they asked where we got the cake because it was so good. She listened to my requests, led me through a seamless path of options of flavors, ingredients, and recommendations. Fast forward, she was punctual and had it all boxed and ready. Fortunately for this "cake shop" the lowest I can give is 1 star. A simple gender reveal cake order placed over a month ago was not done when it was time for pickup. They were made aware that the woman that was being surprised was the one picking it up. Upon pickup they had a disgusting attitude and proceeded to show instagram DMs between them and the person who placed the order in an effort to try to push the guilt onto someone else. In doing so they carelessly and quite stupidly revealed the gender on the spot and ruining something that took time effort and money to plan. They then tried to offer the cake within 30 minutes with no offer of even a discount just to offer $15 cash back on a $100 cake. To add onto their more than questionable choices thus far they then texted the mother to be AFTER they had left the store telling them they couldn't make the cake pink even further spoiling the surprise. Careless thought process, and just straight up stupid, and you can find better cakes quite literally anywhere. All the positive reviews are people just being nice or friends. I strongly urge you to stay away and look for a real bakery that'll pay attention to the customers they're serving. Absolutely pathetic excuse for a bakery. read more

No pic but it had pink/purple gradient cream with pink flowers on top and some silver beads. There were a few pink macarons too. There was a birthday sign on the cake and a name sign put on the cake base. It was a vanilla cake base with mixed fruit filling. Everything was fresh and not too sweet... to a point it was tasteless. At least it was soft. Overall this place is worth going for the aesthetics and no problems in flavor. Points added for the service and flexibility. $55 is aight. Not 5* yet because of the flavor. During the beginning of October I was looking for a birthday cake for November. I plugged in custom cakes that I could order that was close to the birthday girl's home which is how I found E's! I messaged the shop via Instagram for a custom order. I asked for a printed picture in the center and very specific designs for the cake. I also showed pictures from their Instagram of their past cakes they did, asking for similar designs. I was able to pay via PayPal thankfully since we are still fighting a pandemic, but I believe they accept other apps for payment. I am giving 5 stars, but I did have some problems. There were two missing designs, one being a name plague and the second being edible pearls scattered about. I will take the name plague as my mistake as I didn't check the cake when I picked it up and that could have been easily fixed! In the end it's not too big of a deal so I decided to not voice my concerns as I believe the person (possibly the owner) behind the Instagram account isn't fluent in english and I wasn't looking for a refund or anything. If you, the customer, are very keen on designs I suggest you repeat your ideas more than twice as I truly think it's a language barrier. As for the cake this is where the 5 star comes in! I choose a chocolate cake with caramel buttercream. It was honestly one of the most moist and delicious cakes I've had. Super creamy and rich. I see that in other reviews people didn't like how it was mainly cream, but as someone who doesn't like fruit cakes or ice cream cake too much this was right up my alley. The birthday girl enjoyed it too which was the most important part!I also purchased three cupcakes and they were just as good as the cake. I really suggest you leave the cake out for 40 minutes before eating and cutting. It'll taste much better in room temperature as well as easier to cut. Overall I will definitely be returning.
