Upon arriving to Escape:Chandler, at first glance I was amazed at how modern and well-decorated the front area was. It almost reminded me of walking into a clean dentist office (come to find out it WAS an old dentist office ). The lighting was welcoming and the game master welcomed us with open arms. First things first, you get rid of the cellphones in your own personal locker with a key. This is GREAT if you want to get your teens off SnapChat for the weekend. We did get grouped with random people, which made it quite exciting. It forces people to step outside their comfort zone and really communicate with complete strangers. However, I believe you can book your party to where you can go solo if you prefer. After you watch a short video of the rules being laid out, it was now time to head to the PAWN SHOP. The timer was set. The door is shut. It was go time!! The objective of the game was to solve combinations and clues to get back a laptop that had stolen diamonds hidden inside. I enjoy a little ounce of anxiety from time to time, and this did just that! .....not TOO much though, which was great that the game master gives hints if you get stumped. I'm not going to give any clues or hints about the room, because that would take the fun out of it for you. What I can tell you though, is you HAVE to come experience (in my opinion) one of the best escape rooms that Arizona has to offer. It would make a great team building activity, family get together, or even a fun date night. read more

Upon entering the building we immediately felt welcomed, both by the interior decorating and the owners. It was the last game of the day and it was only my wife and I, but we still had an amazing time. We booked The Pawn Shop room. It was fun, authentic, creative and just the right level of difficulty. In my opinion, you DO need some outside knowledge, but that is only if you want to escape the room in a timely manner (which I am sure is the point for many of us, lol). The owners even took the time to have a genuine chat with us. It made us feel like we were not just customers, but people they cared about and we were complete strangers! That was appreciated. Horrible experience! If I could leave zero stars, I would. Let me start by saying we are not novices at escape rooms and have some idea of how they should flow. In the mood to try out a new one, we ventured to Escape Chandler. We picked Tony's room and started on time. Not more than a couple minutes in, we noticed that one of the locks had not been reset (the word kind so it was easy to recognize). The lock was open. We should have stopped the game there And asked that the room be double checked for proper set up, but thinking it was a fluke we continued and ignored the lock until the clues led us there. However, this was the early warning to a room poorly set up and poorly administered that should have not been ignored. Later in the game we asked for a clue in which we were given one that was completely wrong (luckily we figured it out relatively quickly). Not so lucky when given another clue that was blatantly wrong in which we spent the rest of the game (20 min) frustrated and trying to figure it out to open the needed lock. During this time we ventured back to the mistakenly open lock we found at the beginning and went through the cabinet and did not find a single clue. Our suspicion is that the entire cabinet was not reset including placing the clue back in it. At the end, we were given the code to the troublesome lock that we had spent 20min trying to open and still now one in the room could open the lock including the administrator. The lock was sticking and Would not open. It was also at this point that it became very obvious that the clue we were given was not a clue at all and completely killed the second half of the game. I'm sparing details here to respectfully not give away answers. This was likely a bad experience due to a poor room setup and poor game administrator. But I can't say for sure as this was our only time there and no way am I throwing $150 away again to find out. We'll take our chances somewhere else next time! read more
