Had an hour to kill after work before an event in the area and checked out Taroko Sports. My original intent was to see what this place was and determine if I want to come back with my family in the future. The place was unexpected dead...zero other customers. I asked the employee about their prices and promotions and he let me know their current promotion was all you can play card in 1 hour for $11. That quickly transformed me into an interested participant and I purchased the card and got to work. I hit the main batting cages first...I didn't count them all but there were at least 8 in parallel with each other. Some were for softball and others for baseball. It looked like baseball ranged from 50mph to 80 or 90mph. At my tender old age I started in the 60mph and that was about right. The neat part of these cages is the video screen that shows a pitcher winding up and delivering the ball. Much more realistic than staring at a pitching machine. They had bats and helmets to use. I was expecting a hairnet box or something before putting the helmet on but no deal. You may want to be careful who you follow so you don't get drenched in the previous batter's sweat. Next I tried the candlepin bowling. With the unlimited play I played this 3 times. It's fun and quick and all in working order. I've seen these out of order frequently at other establishments. I then tried their homerun derby cage. You can pick any stadium to play and the machine lobs the ball up for you to smack it as hard as you can. Depending the 'skill level' you pick in the game the more compensation you receive, so parents and children can compete and both have fun. I tried the hardest setting in my 2nd game and hit no homers, but a few were close. I then tried the perfect pitch game. You get a ball and a grippy floor to throw from. I didn't figure out exactly how this works but I think you have to knock out all the numbers from 1-16 on the panel. It's more difficult than it looks. I think there's also a speed multiplier so if you throw 70mph you may get more points than 50mph Finally I played both pop-a-shot games. The full-sized one is a blast and you can link to the other machines to compete real-time with friends. The mini pop-a-shot is too easy and keeps going as long as you put some effort in. Overall, I was a kid in an empty candy store for the hour. Got to try out every single-player game and all were fun and worked well. Thanks Taroko Sports!

Pros: State of the art batting cages. Lots of tvs with live games on. Friendly and attentive staff. Very clean, brand new facility. Affordable food (pizza, wings, tenders, fountain drinks). Decent assortment of arcade games. Tasty pizza w a fluffy, crunchy crust. Cons: No WiFi available for guests. Low signal strength for Verizon customers (only 1-2 bars). Music pretty loud. Gross tap water (but they have bottled for sale).

All the games were modern and the batting cages had softball and baseball options with speed differences.

I had never heard of this, but after reading about it on their website I was game. The bowling concept is the same except I didn't need my bowling shoes that I brought and the balls were palm sized with no holes. It took me quite a few rolls to figure out the best way to knock the pins down. The various screen and floor themes add to the fun. I especially enjoyed the Pinpix theme which creates a facial features and crazy accessories. The only thing that was missing was music. We got there when they first opened at 10am and we were the only ones in the bowling area so it was quiet. The staff was really helpful and explained how everything worked. I love the concept of indoor go-karts, bowling, arcade, food, etc for a fun time.

We were told to check back in five minutes before the heat started. On our way to check in, we saw some other people checking in who we had previously observed partaking in some 'recreational activities' in the parking lot - no judgment on that, but I do have a legitimate concern for my safety driving with others under an influence. I approached the staff member in the check in room and explained the situation and asked if we could postpone to the next heat. I was told I'd have to go back to the front desk and ask if they can make the change and that the next heat wouldn't be for another half hour. We didn't have the flexibility in our schedule to stay that long so we decided to participate in the current heat. The staff member told me I could pull over to the side to get assisted off the track if I needed to at any time. I didn't love that I would have to exit the race because of someone else's behavior. Interestingly, during the race, one person crashed into the wall in front of me and the other person crashed into my partner. Aside from all that drama, the track was pretty fun with lots of hard turns. The vehicles had great traction. The turbo button on the vehicle I was using was not marked or colored, so I was not able to use it during the race which was disappointing. I think that all of the entertainment and activity options were exciting and plentiful. If I had endless time and funds, I could definitely keep myself busy here for several hours, maybe even an entire day. I didn't love that a single go kart race was $30 per person and I didn't love that safety wasn't taken more seriously.

They have a variety of deals, be sure to check out their website site. They are a bit pricey for the activities otherwise. Activities (5/5): Ranging from bowling to karaoke to pickleball to arcade games, they're sure to have something you'll enjoy. Price (3/5): The individual activities can be quite pricey. Games range from 9 to 18 points, which is 1-2.50 per game. Staff / Customer Service (3/5): we had to receive a refund on a game that wasn't working and it took a fair amount t of time waiting for a manager. However they did help retrieve a prize quickly that we won. They seem well staffed otherwise. Would definitely recommend this as an activity on the hot summer days/nights in southeast AZ. For those looking for a deal, try the game time option which is 8 dollars per hour for unlimited play.

Now it seems a majority of the items stocked are bulk items you get at the dollar store. Between the prize changes and increase in prices for credits and ticket amounts for redemptions, its getting hard to keep coming back. At this point, I could save my projected yearly spend at round1 for a trip to Japan and come back with more goodies. Greatly dissapointed.

From the moment we walked in, the owner greeted us and was incredibly kind and welcoming. He mentioned it's under new management and that he's been running it for about a year now, and you can really tell he cares about the place and the experience. I also loved that they have free lockers available. I was able to store my bag easily, which was super convenient! As soon as you enter the mini golf course, you're immediately immersed in the safari theme with sound effects that really add to the experience. Each room features different safari animals and glow in the dark props, it was such a fun and unique setup. This was our first time trying glow-in-the-dark mini golf, and it was a really fun experience. Overall, this is a great option if you're looking for something different, affordable, and fun to do. The pricing was very reasonable, and we had such a good time. When you finish golfing, you can also hang out in the arcade area, which was also well priced and a nice bonus. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out Swinging Safari Mini Golf and supporting this local business. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Phoenix visiting!

The place was pretty empty when I came in and I was able to play two games of Ms Pac Man and enjoy my beer at the same time. They also put little side tables by the arcade, so you have a place to set down your drink as you play. Lots of old school video games here including Tetris and Dr Mario! I'd definitely come back again when I feel like playing a few rounds of my favorite arcade game! Parking available on the street, bathrooms located on both floors.
