Dropped in to try out Escape's craft beers and find a cool place to hang. I ordered the Sounds of Summer sour ale and it's very drinkable. I'd say even those who aren't super into sours would enjoy it! Perfect for this hot hot summer day. It has a refreshing quality and clean finish. I'm going to try out some of their food items on the next visit but for the atmosphere and the one beer I've had so far, I give them a solid 5. It's big inside and there's lots of seating options. It's clean and it passes my restroom test too! Funny restrooms as they have a joint facility where there are doors to the stalls and everyone shares the sinks. Works great and the stalls and sink area was super clean. That's a plus in a brewery as I often find brewery restrooms to be gross - which gives me pause on their cleanliness and drinking their beers, but not here. You queue up to a counter to order and the staff was prompt and friendly. So far, no one has dropped by my table to see if they could offer me anything else - that's my only ding. But still a 5. Will report back on my next visit, which I'm looking forward to! Update... I stuck around! Grabbed a ECB (light beer) and a NY style pepperoni pizza. The ECB was fine - as expected. Prob should have ordered something else but it was easy to drink and went well with the pizza. The pizza was BETTER than expected! I've been here a couple times, the first time was when my bf performed here. It's located in an industrial complex, which is different for me, but when you go in, the space is transformed into a huge fun place, literally an escape. There's a great selection of beers and for food, there is a rotation of vendors that set up at one of the openings. It's really a cleverly use of space and I can see how it helps make serving the customer efficient. Seating is plentiful as well, inside and out. This review is for my second visit, for the dog parade day (dog friendly bar for sure). I had the Cherry Blossom and Hop Scotch. The food vendor that day was serving hot dogs and sausages from George's Deli from Yucaipa. It was yummy and hit the spot. Later, I saw the food vendor was some Mexican food. Was a little disappointed they don't offer seltzers like other breweries do for those who don't like beer, but there was some slushee drink I was able to drink. The food is good but the vendor used only accepts cash, Zelle or I believe something else but I don't have any. I was able to Apple Pay a friend who used their Zelle to pay for my order. And then no other variety of food/snack options in general for those not too hungry. Just a couple chip options at the register. The others enjoyed their beers. The trivia was fun but being my first time here for that, I didn't care for the themes for each section. They were ok but I was expecting more fun themes like... an 80s songs category, Harry Potter Category, etc. But the lady hosting the trivia was super nice and fun! There are tables, a swinging bench, and cornhole games outside on the patio. Aside from the main room that has plenty of seating, there's also a side room that has a few arcade and board games. It's nicely decorated with creative artwork and various plants. Overall, great place with ample accommodations and activities. Service: Standard, no complaints! Taste: We got the corn fritters, Paradise Loaded Fries, and a vegetarian pizza, all of which were quite tasty. Unfortunately, I don't drink, so I can't comment on the taste of the alcohol here. They don't serve food at this location but you can order via door dash / Uber eats and have it delivered if you want. Otherwise they sell chips/snacks. We go to this place regularly. The beers are good, and if you're not a beer drinker, they often have some sort of wine or cocktail based slushy on the menu. They also have food trucks which are always good. Wednesday is cornhole tournament and truck night, which is a favorite with my family. Dogs are welcome. The only issue in the summer is there are big fans in there but no air-conditioning and it can get stuffy. First off, I will say beware, because there are two different locations, right near each other. One serves full food - pizza, burgers, etc. and the other just has beers (and thankfully capri suns for the kiddos), and will sometimes have a food vendor. We learned this the hard way last night. . Someone suggested we try it out since we were in the area, love a good beer, and it's family friendly. We mistakenly went to the location without food, but luckily had a taco vendor set up, so we were still able to grab some tacos, nachos, and a quesadilla for the kids. It still turned out to be great tho. The staff were all friendly and helpful, it had some cool, funky, eclectic decor, and we really lucked out because it wasn't super busy, and they had a fun band playing. I grabbed a flight and thoroughly enjoyed it! I decided to try a variety of what they had to offer - I went with a hazy IPA, a sour, a blonde and a golden stout. The Hubs tried a juicy hazy (which I also tried) - all were really great! I especially enjoyed the stout and had to immediately go back for a full size one. There were two different main rooms and we stayed in the first one since the band was kind of loud for our smaller kiddos. The second room had some cool games and things tho, which will definitely be a plus to keep the kids entertained for next time we're there. If I had one small complaint, it'd be that there was only one bathroom, and it's shared with men and women, so I did have to do some minor "clean up" each time I went in. Came here on our way to Joshua Tree. It's a really cool brewery in a up and coming area. There's plenty of seating. They have outdoor in the front and back, and lots of indoor seating They have a good selection of beer. They even have cider which is nice since my husband likes. We went shortly after they opened and it was pretty quite. The bartender who helped us was very sweet. Gave us a good recommendation on beer which we were happy about. We ended up getting - 2 six choice flights - a cider - pepperoni Detroit pizza - mac n cheese with fries for my son - house salad We got every IPA they had and 2 stouts on our flights. They were all very good. 2 we were iffy about but once we kept drinking them we were able to taste the notes. My husbands cider was very delicious. One that I can see drinking as a light beer on a hot day. Pizza was very good. Crust was crunchy which I liked. Mac n cheese is Kraft Mac n cheese which it does say on they menu. I hadn't had it in years so I found that to be good. Overall, cute place. If we are ever in the area again we would for sure stop. read more

Fun spot in Redlands with surprising vegan options! A friend recommended we check it out as a place to get vegan food. The restaurant has an interesting vacation-like theme with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Stopped by here due to good reviews on Yelp and wanted to try their draft beers. When we got there around 5:30pm on a Saturday, the parking lot was full. We got lucky with parking at their lot. Their menu is clearly marked with what's vegan and what's gluten free. Some menu items can be modified to vegan. The cashier told me that both burgers on the menu can be veganized and the impossible patty is seasoned . I ordered the Escape burger with an impossible patty (+$3) and vegan cheese (+$2) which came out to be $22 and a side of fries instead of salad. On the menu, Escape Burger says it comes with A potato bun, juicy double patty, American cheese caramelized onion, lettuce, tomato, house made pickle. The burger came out to only one patty and they put a unknown sauce on it when though it was not listed in the menu. I unfortunately had to bring it back to the kitchen and ask what the sauce they put in it was. The staff came back and told me that it was some Cesar dressing and it is made with dairy and eggs. Had to tell them I'm allergic to dairy and eggs so they could remake it for me because the employee who I was speaking to seemed so nervous and didn't look like he wanted to bring it back to the staff . The burger was so bland and did not taste seasoned. They should've marked on the menu if the kitchen staff are going to put sauce in the burgers. Fries were good though. My non vegan girlfriend had their dinosaur nuggets and fries on the kids menu because she wasn't that hungry and thought they were okay. We liked the beers that we got Odelay (Mexican Lager with citrus) $6.50 and Swimmers Ear $7 which is a Lager from Brouwerij West. The beers are a good size 16oz and the pricing is very good. Next time I'm here I'll try other beers from their selection and I'll try their pizzas. Said there's a vegan pepperoni option that's listed on the menu. I love that they have treats and food on the menu for dogs. They got 5 gender neutral restrooms with a shared wash area. They got an outdoor and indoor seating area. read more

We were so indecisive this evening because we usually like to stay in for New Years Eve. Other breweries were closed this evening and I am so grateful we came across this one!!! We all had so much fun tonight! If you're a dog lover, you'd love coming here! There are two very obedient and friendly German Shepards who roam around the whole brewery. I saw a lot of patrons with their dogs as well. It's baby friendly too :) We ordered a flight of 6 beers for ~$11 and a beer for about $6. I didn't like every single one but they weren't too bad. But we experienced very friendly service! One of the employees came to each table and told us they were playing a trivia game so we decided to check it out. We ended up playing and won third place out of 8/9 teams! We won a $10 gift certificate to come back! Cool! Honest, non-jaded Redlands local review. Here's the lowdown on Esacpe's new downtown location. Visited 7/3/2021 for lunch to try their new location and new food venture. It was severely underwhelming. The location is nice. Very open and lots space and seating. You get the vibe they are going for. However after you've taken in the visual aspects the hype train ends there. The beer selection is way lacking, of Escape's tap list only a handful of the beers on tap actual their own. The other beers on tap are guest taps(other breweries) . Now while this isn't uncommon, usually the location brewery has a lot more variety and less guest tap options. The idea having a good new location is to sell "your" beer not other peoples beer. To put this inpersepctive, another newly opened Redland's brewery has 24 beers on tap, all their own. Now on to the food, this part I was really excited for but left broken hearted in the end. The prices seemed high so I was expecting some higher quality..... I should have known better. Went to get a Yo Adrian Detroit pizza only to be told they were out of sausage and mushroom. How do you run out of pizza topping ingredients on a Saturday afternoon? Thats restaurant management 101. I settled for just a Pepperoni Detroit pizza. When I received it, it looked great... but looks are decieving. What I got was a pizza with red sauce with no character, a cheese blend that was bland as all hell and very very undercooked pepperoni. The only thing this pizza had going for was the dough. Yet again another disappointment. Clearly they need some help. This is a local place for those who like to only stay local. Its great concept that is very poorly executed. I like this location because of how spacious it is. The tables are large and it doesn't feel too crowded, even when there are a lot of people there. They've got a great selection of beer as well. My favorites are the sours - My partner and I liked them so much that we bought a growler to keep some at home. Our best investment yet! It's always nice to have good beer on hand. In terms of food options, I like how the food selection changes. They rotate food trucks, so you never really get bored. The downside to that is if you don't like the food truck, you're basically out of luck. Logistically, there's lots of parking outside, so you should never have an issue finding a spot. My husband and I had a pepperoni Detroit pizza, dinner salad, chips salsa and beer cheese. He had a couple of beers, I had water. So I guess the new thing is to self order from the table and a server will come and drop it off for you and you self pay at the end. It's convenient. The pizza was good, but the pepperoni was only along the outer edge and spaced pretty far apart. I would hate to have seen it if we hadn't ordered extra!? The salad was really, really good, no complaints. The chips, salsa and beer cheese was good too. But here is my issue. We did the work a server does. We refilled our own water, placed our orders, found our own to-go boxes, because we couldn't get the "server's" attention even trying a few times. And we did our own financial transaction at the end. Here's the biggest issue; an 18% tip is automatically filled in the tip line. Yes, it was adjustable, but audacious for anyone to assume that might be a reasonable tip for little to no service. The place is cute, very classic brewery, brew pub feel, nice seating inside and out, corn hole and other games were being enjoyed by customers. All good, except maybe work on the server idea a little more and actually give real service for that expected 18% tip of which I almost always increase to at least 20% if I actually get pretty good service. read more
