I go to Hops and Spokes Brewing Company at least once a week and it's easily one of my favorite spots in town. The Cranberry IPA is my go-to every time. It's unique, refreshing, and just hits right. The bartenders are always super friendly and make the place feel welcoming. One thing that really sets this spot apart is the bike shop inside. You can get repairs, ask questions, and hang out with people who actually know what they're talking about. Highlights were the chill vibe and the friendly bartender providing great service. I love the themed decor. We came mid afternoon on a very hot weekend day. The seating was plentiful. There wasn't a special event happening so I can't speak to noise levels on a busy night. We only came for the beer and to try a new brewery. I am from out of town in a region known for amazing craft beer. The selection at Hops and Spokes sadly didn't do it for me or my companions. They got a flight; I tried some of the "fruitier" options. While not bad, they just didn't wow me. Flavors are very subtle. The one with smoked cherry is all smoke, no cherry. Unpleasant compared to other similar beers or cocktails I've had. It could be a fun place to hang out but the beer alone wouldn't bring me back. read more

We love this brewery!!! We have been coming for years and are not local to Yucaipa- so that's already saying a lot. Hops and spokes has contributed to many life events for us. One of the live musicians they had back In 2021 we loved so much, so I booked him to play at our wedding (The Travis Miller if you're interested in his music). We did a Valentine's Day special they had one year. We also rented their beer trike for my husband's 40th birthday and it was a CROWD PLEASER! So many options to choose from! Super awkward experience. Staff wasn't friendly or welcoming. They seemed irritated I came in. Asked for a couple of samples and no suggestions were made or desire to find something I liked. Literally, the only thing the cashier said was the price. Honestly, one of the weirdest interactions I've had in a long time. Vibes were off. I choked down the seltzer I ordered out of pity in an effort to get the heck out of there. It's giving pretentious hipster with nothing to back it up. I tried their beer, seltzer, and cider - all were pretty underwhelming. Might be cool if you are a cyclist strictly for the decor but other than that, not worth the visit. read more

We came by on a night that our friend's band was performing. The atmosphere and decorum of the brewery was really fun! Plenty of things to look at that were all bike themed, from the flight holders to the chairs, and the crowd was very easy going. The staff was really friendly and offered help if we had any questions about the menu, and gave us some good suggestions. We went with a flight to try some of the beers they had on tap. I'll note that the beers were not very chilled, but they were good regardless. My favorite from the flight would have to be the Heart Braker. It was a refreshing blonde ale that had hints of orange. Stein rack was cool, but they are backlogged on joining. Large connect 4, large jenga and plenty of seating. Outdoor seating with heated lamps. This place has all one needs for a good brew time. Onto the drinks...... Mexican Lager - Reminds me of a corona. Blackberry wheat - easy to drink, fruity Black IPA - Black is exactly what this is Smoked cherry stout - If your not into stouts this is definitely not for you Kolsch style ale - My favorite. And taste like honey to me. I checked in Yesterday here for my first time. I took an Uber here for my birthday. When I first got there the place wasn't that busy (6pm) and then shortly after it filled up quickly for Tuesday trivia night.. The staff were super friendly.. I tried various beers.. The only one that I truly enjoyed was the Black IPA.. The place does get noisy when it's packed. They do allow kids and pets inside. They also allow outside food.. Yucaipa is becoming quite the little brewery town, with several popping up in the last few years. But I don't think any of them quite have the relaxed and open vibe that Hops and Spokes has. I love popping in here from time to time to deflate and relax a little, and there is plenty of space to do that. There are other options in town, sure, but I really appreciate that every time I come here it's the same people working behind the counter. They're friendly and you can tell they take pride in their work. A fact that's evident by their brews. Best in town, if you want my opinion, especially their stouts. Support a fantastic, clean, and friendly local business. You won't regret it. Also, as an aside, these guys consistently choose great bands on their live music nights. read more

The first thing I noticed about Hops and Spokes is that they really like the color orange. The tables, chairs, ductwork, garbage bins, and umbrella are all orange. They're definitely consistent with the theme. My wife and I ordered a flight of beers and headed out to the patio. The patio is right next to a busy street, but I thought that Hops and Spokes did a good job creating a natural barrio between the two with some bushes. I didn't mind the noise. I wasn't reading a book; I was drinking a beer. As consistent as they were with the theme of the brewery, orange, the patio seating was quite uncomfortable. Maybe it was part of the strategy. If the seats were too comfortable, people would slowly sip their beer while working on a tan. With uncomfortable seats, you drink quick and keep it moving. The quality of the beer was excellent. Our favorites were the American IPA and the Chocolate Milk Porter. I would return again to get those again or try others. read more

This place is very involved with the biking folks as they do all kinds of events including group rides around Yucaipa . They always have a outside vendor for food here and they are different on various days. Their servers have been AWESOME here so I look forward to joining one those group rides soon. read more

Pros: the people are friendly. It's the only brewery/bar in the area open before 5. Clean. Cons: beers are sometimes lukewarm, and a little flat. Overall, I think they'll do well here. I just think the head brewer needs to tweek his recipes a bit. Most of their beers are good there's just a little something missing. read more
