Best friend and I went to get some pedis and we are greeted and sat quickly. The service was quick and efficient and I didn't feel jipped out of my pedi! Price was $40 for a spa pedi, I got the lavender cedar wood and the scrub smelled so good. I will definitely be coming back for my next! read more

Had a 10am mani-pedi appt but it was dark and no one was inside. Finally called owner and she said she was in traffic, kids, etc. Finally showed up at 10:15. She was rushing and did a sloppy job. She also did not even let my hands soak long enough (1 min) to soften my cuticles. I was also very disappointed at how dirty and unsanitized things looked. There were drinks laying around from the day before and the tool trays had not been cleaned as they were visibly soiled. Website says they open at 9:30 but it's not posted on their door... I won't be going back. read more

This was my first time here, and my first time getting my nails done! It's owned by a couple and they are very sweet, welcoming and efficient! The pricing is very reasonable. I would recommend calling and scheduling an appointment so you don't have to wait in line at all. Although, the people that did wait only waited about 10-20mins. Please try them out! Update: got home and my partners acrylics were thinly painted so you could kind of see through them and crooked. They missed one of my cuticles that I noticed at the day after. Other than that still decent for the price. read more

This nail salon can be hit or miss depending on who is working that day. The owner, Tammy, is fantastic. She always has suggestions, and enjoys chatting with you while you work. She's very transparent about extra costs, and always greets you with a smile. Today I had a fill by one of the employees. I'm mostly happy with it! The edges of the nails are super sharp, but the shape is nicely done. The salon is mostly clean, just looks outdated and a little run down, though they occasionally swap customers without washing their hands in between and the nail files don't seem new. Additionally, there's usually only one or two people working, so I recommend calling ahead to see how busy they are (and planning some extra time). The reason I'm rating 4 stars is due to the seemingly random prices. When I asked for clarification on the price, the employee just repeated the number. Fills here are usually $20, today I paid $35. I didn't get a receipt (nor was offered one) as I paid in cash. I did get some nail sparkles put on, but wasn't expecting to pay an extra $15 for two little hearts. I had asked about some complex nail art before my fill, but the employee didn't say how much it would be so I went for something more plain. They definitely prefer you pay in cash, so I recommend bringing more than you budget for! read more

Tammy and Danny are the best. They're amazing at nails and they're genuinely good people. I can't recommend them enough. I have to bring my grandson I care for with me each time and neither of them ever complain. In fact my grandson just loves Danny. They also don't overcharge you. read more

I see that they keep getting reviews saying the nail polish is chipping off pretty quick and I'm like 98 percent sure it's cause their gel nail polish is old. Customer service was nice I really like the owner she's fun to talk to so that aspect was good but you guys definitely need to get alllll new gel nail polish read more

Great staff! We just moved backed to the area and we're looking for an open place on a Sunday. Stumbled upon here via Apple maps and I am not disappointed. It was 4pm, only two customers here and a gentleman greeted and helped us very fast. I got a gel manicure with a complimentary massage. My daughter also got a gel manicure (under 10 for a special occasion) for $15. Overall a great place and great staff. They also have a child's pedicure chair. I found Escape Nail Spa about two months ago & I'm soooo glad I did! It's so hard to find a good nail technician, Tammy is everything. I got a pedicure the last time & it was so relaxing, also my polish always lasts a few weeks thanks to the gel. They aren't stingy with massage time either. Tammy always keeps my nails on point; color, length, shape, she has got it down! They have a good color selection. I have been looking for a good nail salon in Tacoma for so long & I'm sooo happy I stumbled into this salon! I couldn't recommend them enough! Everyone there is very experienced & great. I have NEVER left a nail salon in tears until tonight. I walked in at 6:45pm for a Gel Manicure because I have engagement pictures TOMORROW. Keep in mind I walked in with nails that were about 1/8 to 1/4 inch past my finger tips. ... Problem #1- The old man with extremely shaky hands that "shaped" my nails. I SPECIFICALLY asked for "ROUND-Square but more on the Round side" After he was done, I had 90 degree points on the sides of my nails, I had been cut TWICE from his shaky hands and the cuticle trimmer, and none of my nails were even close to having the same length or shape. I expressed how the shape was not what I had asked for. They quickly made him leave and an older lady sat down to try and fix what he had done. She rounded out the sides which was fine. But he had already done WAY too much damage for me to leave satisfied with what she could do. Problem #2- My fiancé could have applied gel polish better than I received. Not one but 5 fingers have polish that doesn't cover the entire nail. I understand the corners can be hard.ITS YOUR JOB. And when I stressed 3 difffebt times I'm getting ENGAGEMENT pictures TOMORROW. You would think they would make sure that at least my ring finger was covered. NOPE. It's the one he effed up the worst so not only is the nail extremely short but it has missing polish . I will Never recommended this nail salon to anyone. I did not rush in at 7:15 right before closing. They had 45 minutes before they closed. If they were going to provide such half-ass service they should have told me they didn't have time. I'm really tempted to go in first thing tomorrow and demand a refund. But all know how well that goes at nail salons. So I left in tears with nails that I'll be re-doing tonight at home. Beware. read more

I was in the area so tried this place for the first time--not impressed! I got a gel manicure, but the woman cut my nails SUPER short and uneven, even after I showed her one nail that I liked the length of. She used a super rough file and filed in both directions, and the manicure is messy. I called ahead and when I got there I was the only customer. Within about 15 minutes, three more customers came in and sat for at least 30 min until another employee showed up and finally started on each of them. The women were obviously irritated that they waited so long after being told to take a seat/pick out a color and not warned that nobody else was working. Also, she removed my previous gel mani with an electric file, and my nails feel SUPER rough, even with the new gel manicure. I'm worried they're destroyed until they grow out. Definitely will NOT be returning. read more

I came for my first set of Gucci custom nails done last year. I moved away and moved back and recently went in to get my nails done by Tammy once again. They remembered my name and nails, and details we spoke about. She and her husband Danny are the most wonderful duo, and they never make you feel unheard. Danny shapes and files my acrylics, and Tammy paints and designs. I have seriously spent so long finding my go-to nail shop; THIS IS IT! They make me feel like a part of their family. The best part is the atmosphere, cleanliness, attention to detail (Tammy spent 2+ hrs custom painting each Gucci nail and she recently did my engagement nails too). Ever since I decided to go back to acrylic nails I have been looking around Tacoma for a clean shop with good availability and non aggressive filing techniques. I am super pleased with my experience at escape nails. Not only was she really nice, she got me in quickly and made my acrylics look and feel like natural nails. This place is trash. The owner is nice but the girl who works with her is HORRIBLE! She couldn't even do a white pedicure set without messing it up and got rude when i wanted it fix. SHE DIDN'T EVEN PUT A TOP COAT ON. I came the next day to get it fixed and it was STILL BUBBLING after she redid it because she rushed . I went back in like "hey there's still bubbles" and in front of another customer she handed me the bottle and said "do it yourself". NEVER have I ever been treated like that in a salon. This is the second time this girls been semi racist because a time before that she went to start on my nails and stopped and went to the customer who apparently "had an appointment" EVEN after the customer said she didn't she put me on the back burner. The shock on my face when she did that i vowed to never come back but STILL DID. DON'T GO HERE. read more

I enjoy getting my pedis done here. I receive the full package for my pedicure and it comes with the hot stones, extra massage, masks, extra sugar scrub, etc. It's a bonus with the massage chairs that you sit on as well. There's a TV for some entertainment while getting pampered as well. I've never had an issue while getting a mani or a pedi here. I work evenings, so I am able to come during the mornings when they first open, so no appointment necessary. They take my right away. I've gotten a regular manicure done there before, as well as gel. I always get them coffin shaped, and they size it up very nicely. Let them know if it's off or not quite the shape you are looking for. Most people are scared to tell someone, but they are YOUR nails, so you gotta look at them all day everyday. They won't feel hurt. That's what they're there for. They have a vast selection of colors to choose from, and seating for those who need to wait until their turn. It's tucked in the between a suit shop and a Chiropractor's office. Not too far from the mall. I'd recommend an appointment if you come late in the day or on the weekends. read more

Visited the salon for the very first time because mine was closed early being it was Sunday. However I was thankful they were open on a Sunday. I got a really good review from another gal that was in there about being a regular and how they did a great job so it made it a little bit more comfortable for me as I was getting my nails done. Although the technician spoke more in a foreign language to her co-workers or family members then she did to me as her customer. However I will not complain as they stayed open 20 minutes late to finish my nails. They allowed me to charge my phone which I thought was cool. However they charge for literally everything that you do which I felt was a little pricey but it's okay it was a Splurge since it was my first time getting my nails done in over 2 years read more

Staff was very friendly. The salon could use some sprucing up as the chairs are not that comfortable and worn out. I got a mani pedi and the lady got the shellac on my skin. I told the man and he took it off by cutting it off. I asked a couple times for him just to use nail polish remover and he kept saying I'll oil your hand it's fine. So I didnt have him do the rest. I'm only giving three stars because the ladies were nice. read more

Where to start? Wife wanted to get manicures and pedicures late this evening, so we chose a place as it was in the vicinity. They were actually closing shop, but were kind enough to get us in and out. I chose the Basic pedicure of $25, my Wife a Deluxe for $35; I also mentioned a French Manicure. Fast forward irreverent details, the gal who was tending to my Wife doesn't even work there and the guy tending to me, was giving her directions--through the entire duration of services. Long story short, my french pedicure is the worst I have ever walked out with. The french tip reminds me of the moon transitioning from a full moon to a waxing gibbous. Look that up, please. To add to the experience, I also walked out with incredibly short, bare fingernails. That means, no polish, no lacquer, nothing. Just trimmed nails. So short, it looks like I have a nail biting problem. Wife on the other hand, received similar services, but lucky her, she requested only a clear coat. Grand total: $104.00 Definitely did NOT get what I paid for. read more

We were attended to right away, no wait, and had a wonderful experience. The gentleman that did our pedicures was very quick but attentive and our feet look and feel great! When…read moreI arrived, there were two employees and no other customers, and it was clear I was the last appointment of the day. I came in for a pedicure and a fill. I was told I needed a completely new set, with the explanation that after 3-4 fills you always need a new set. That information itself wasn't the issue--it was the condescending tone used when explaining it. The old set was not soaked off and was instead peeled off, which was painful. After the new set was finished, my hands were covered in powder and glue. When I asked to wash my hands, I was told it wasn't necessary and that I could wash them at home. I left with dust and glue still on my hands and shirt. I paid $120. This was my third visit, and none of the visits felt welcoming. The work itself was mostly cute too, but I felt rushed and like an inconvenience. Because of the lack of care and customer service, I won't be returning.

However, the last time I was there, I had an unfortunate incident with my dog on my big toe so to fix it I simply asked the lady to put on some gel to even it out a little bit. She then tried to put polish on without putting gel on, and I corrected her saying no that's not how I want it. I don't want it all rough and bumpy so she sent me to the chair to get my fill for my nails... keep in mind, my feet already had a pedicure, and my big toe was primed and ready to go, all she had to do was put gel on and even it out like I asked them several times at this point. Another lady prepped my toe nail yet again, even though it just had been done and SHE RIPPED OFF MY TOENAIL, like almost completely off, thinking it was fake when it wasn't. Obviously. I don't know about you, but I can tell the difference between real or fake nails, and I don't even work on them professionally. When I got angry with her about it she acted like I was the problem and made me feel absolutely horrible so now two weeks later I am still dealing with having a ripped off toenail that I'm praying to the gods that it ends up growing back in and staying. I don't know if it will, but I will never be going back this nail salon for as long as I live. If I could give zero stars I would. So disgusting.

I wouldn't necessary go here again, but they do have availability for walk ins which is nice. Maybe come here for a more basic manicure than any designs.
