This was our first escape room and we chose Arcadia. We went with 4 people - 2 adults and 2 kids ages 9 and 11. We had the BEST time! Highly recommend for inquisitive kids. Both of my kids were hesitant about the evenings plan, however once we arrived they were super excited to get started. Our host, Jake was wonderful and exactly who we needed to guide us when we needed it (pretty often). Our kids are already asking to go back, and we will. My main concern prior to going was that we would miss something, and just sit there unable to move forward. Nope! If you get stuck and everyone agrees to a hint, you will be guided in the next direction, but not given the, "answer". This made this activity so much fun for our family. read more

The interiors and props could really use an update to match what other escape rooms are offering these days. The puzzles were okay, but there weren't many "wow" moments or surprises that made us feel like the game stood out. We did the escape room called the Arcadia and it was epic. What a blast. It was themed like a 80s arcade that also had a fun wizard vibe. This was one of the coolest escape rooms I've been to. I think this would be a great one if you've never done an escape room before. If you do lots of escape rooms, then you'll just enjoy how well this was put together. During the escape room we had TJ as our game master. He was a fantastic host. If we had any questions because we couldn't figure something out, he was very helpful. From the outside the location doesn't look good but the escape room was excellent. read more

I came here with a large group - there were 9 of us total. We did the Egyptian-themed room called the Curse of Anabis. I would say the difficulty was higher than I expected. Luckily we were all pretty experienced with escape rooms. We solved the room about 5-10 mins before our time expired. I thought the riddles were well thought out and quite complex. I would recommend if you're looking for a fun adventure with lots of problem solving. You do have to sign a waiver when you arrive. My friend also reserved in advance for our group. For $33 a person, I did think it was a little pricey. But that seems to be the going-rate for these types of places. read more

My friend and I came to Escape on 13th, specifically for the Walk The Plank room. The check in process did have some waivers to review and sign, so definitely come early to get those out of the way. There's also an intro video that you need to watch as well. There is a private parking lot with plenty of parking available. Overall, it was a fun experience. It was an immersive experience. My friend and I didn't finish the room by the 1 hour limit, but we enjoyed the uniqueness of the clues and set-up. read more

Four of us did the walk the plank room and had so much fun! I had been to an escape room before, but no one else in the group had. Escape on 13th did a great job outlining what to expect in a video when we arrived and we started our game promptly. The atmosphere in the room was great. Definitely fit the pirate theme from the room design to the props. I've been to cheaper looking escape rooms and this blew them out of the water. Our game master was nice and of course getting a souvenir photo at the end is cool. I would definitely recommend trying out these rooms! We plan to return and try some of the others. read more

I went with my family and we were having a really great time until the exit door suddenly opened. The employee told us congratulations we had finished the room, however we still had 5 locks we hadn't unlocked and a big puzzle that wasn't complete. It turns out two of the locks hadn't been re-locked when they reset the room so we didn't get the full experience. They were nice enough to let us go back in the room and finish solving the clues, but it really took away from the excitement of it all. I reached out to them and asked for a partial refund given that our experience was incomplete and they declined because we appeared to have had fun. Yes, we had fun, but we did not get what we paid for- a complete escape room experience. This place has potential, but really disappointed me. read more

Always have very fun puzzles with great premises. All the clues are always easily connectable. My only spot for improvement would be to have clues that trigger on their own instead of having the staff open doors on the outside because sometimes they aren't available to open doors and then we lose time on the inside. Cute little escape room! Forrest, our game master, was extremely friendly, and made the experience very approachable. We did the Walk The Plank room, which is pirate themed, and Forrest did an excellent job of procuring a swashbuckling atmosphere. The ambiance of the room was great. It was simple, cute, and very much like a small pirate ship. The puzzle, while sometimes a little random, were for the most part really fun and challenging. We made it out in just under an hour, but if you're more experienced at puzzle solving, it won't take you very long at all. The spacing of the groups was terrible. They let way to many people in at once so you didn't even get the experience. We had just a couple hours before our flight and wanted to do the Walk the Plank game. No one was there when we drove by so we called and left a message. Got a return call just about 10 minutes later and they send a Game Master to open up for us, even though there were only 2 of us. Their minimum is 4, but they made an exception. This room was on point! If you love pirates you will be in heaven! So many keys and codes and in the atmosphere of an old pirate ship...can't say enough about this experience and so grateful we got to experience it! read more

The employees there were super fun with taking pictures and keeping our times a secret. The room we did was something Egyptian/Mummy, it was a while ago so I can't remember. The puzzles are fun and difficult. The rooms are exciting and you move around rather than just being in the same 4 walls like others I've gone to. What a great escape room. I've done all their rooms and thought it was awesome! The Rogue Agent room is the hardest, and I could tell. They are definitely what would be considered level 2 or gen 2 escape rooms. The place sits back off the road and looks like a nice business when you walk in, but then you get into your room and WOW, they look amazing. They are very detailed and you can tell they spend the time and money putting these things together. Some of the puzzles were quite difficult but we had a great game master. They said every now and then, there's a game master that gets complacent, like in other reviews, but they said if they ever see that, the game master is fired. I like that policy. They do make realistic escape rooms!!! We found an ACTUAL DEAD MOUSE in the room lmao. Ok serious talk. We had an ok experience but I will try to write this review only based on objective settings first. For the escape room itself I'd probably give a 3.5. The props are cool and the environment is cool, BUT more than half the stuff are marked as DO NOT TOUCH. So it's more like a.... haute house kinda. The experience isn't really immersive since you kinda have limited items to find clues and solve puzzles which makes them even easier...... We did walk the plank..... and ya it was super straight forward. (Maybe should try hard ones?) So why 2? As I mentioned before...... we found a dead mouse while searching for the key....... one of the person picked it up and was like.... I think that's a real dead mouse........... and that room smelled like for the rest of the escape experience.......... we unfortunately found the mouse in the earlier room that we had to kept going back.... and the smell just got worse through out the night==.......... No they didn't clean it up of course for game reason..... and when they person asked if they can go wash their hand they didn't let them out== (since it's against the rule I guess?)...... ya pretty damn gross........ i probably could have gave a one but again the room itself is ok. read more

Four of us went for a friend's birthday, and we had the room to ourselves. We began with a 5 minute video outlining the rules and methods, then were ushered into the beginning of the Walk the Plank game room. The clues were challenging, but we did pretty well. The only real problem we had was the lighting. It was so dim that we could hardly read a lot of the clues. In fact, we found it very frustrating as no outside lights can be brought into the game. Considering that we are all older and need reading glasses, it was an issue that cost us a lot of time. I don't think it would subtract from the atmosphere to turn the lights up a little. We really enjoyed our game otherwise and plan to go again. It was our first escape room experience, but definitely not the last! read more

We booked a spot for 4 not realizing we could share a room - kind of a bummer but it all worked out teaming up with another group. Watch out for that when booking online and make sure to select the option to pay $25 for a private room. We did the rouge agent room and it was awesome. Super intricate and well thought out puzzles and flow. I would highly recommend this game if you want a challenge but I'm sure the other rooms are just as good! I had my first escape room experience at Escape on 13th and enjoyed it very much!! We solved the Walk the Plank room at the EXACT time the clock ran out with a group of 10 people (the maximum allowed). Here are my thoughts: - 10 people was a little too much. We had a couple people who stood around because there weren't enough puzzles to keep everyone busy at all times. Plus the rooms aren't very big so some people decided to step aside to avoid crowding each other. Our host said 6 to 7 people in one room is the ideal size. - Don't be afraid to ask for clues! Our host said we are allowed to ask for as many clues as we want. You'll waste more time if you're stuck trying to figure a clue out instead of just asking for clues. There's no penalty no matter how many clues you ask for. My sister said what screwed her group last time is that they were too prideful and thought they could escape the room on their own. - I have bad eyes and I don't see very well in the dark. This room was pretty dim, even though they provide you with a small lantern. I heard the Curse of Anubis is even darker and they had to crank a light in order to see. - The most efficient way to escape the room is to designate roles for everyone. I acted as the scribe, we had someone else that would read any paper clues we got, others who would split up to solve clues in different rooms, one person kept an eye on the clock, etc. Literally every minute counts so don't have too many people crowding in one area trying to solve the same puzzle. - Make sure you COMMUNICATE with everyone, because each person observes different things about the room and sometimes someone else will know the answer to a clue that you found. I had a great time and will definitely be back again to try a different room! I recommend it for group dates. Choose your teammates wisely though! ;) read more

We love escape rooms and decided to take the kids to try one out. We went with the 'Walk The Plank' room and it was such a fun time and not too scary for our 8-year-old. Pros: The rooms were probably the best that we have seen as far as props go. Very realistic and played on all the senses which makes it that much more realistic. Our host was helpful, on time and had everything set for our arrival (not something I can say for all escape rooms we have visited). Cons: The rooms were quite small. We had a group of 10 (which is the maximum allowed), 4 were small children, but we still felt too crowded at times. I would recommend doing this room with smaller groups if possible. I think 4-6 would have been ideal. There were far too many lock-and-key aspects to this room, which I feel is a bit of a cop-out in escape rooms. However, it was still challenging and fun. I really try to not write bad reviews but I'm extremely frustrated after my experience. I did the Walk the Plank room and the actual room itself was really detailed to fit the theme. I loved the decor but the puzzles were challenging. When asking for clues, responses were slow and after numerous times asking for a clue the game master would ask what we needed help with. At one point I just sat on the bench and said," I was super frustrated. Is anyone there?" And there was literally no response. We didn't even get close to escaping because there was no game master helping us. When our time ended and a game master came in I explained my frustrations and she just apologized and said the game master had walked away. Who the heck walks away when you currently have people in a room?? She said the trainee was there but I literally got no responses for help. It is unacceptable to leave people in a room that are paying for the experience to not get the help when they need it. My experience at this venue was ruined and I left extremely frustrated. When I asked to see what the remaining puzzles were she said they couldn't share that information. Why would I go back? I paid for an experience and wanted to see how the room concluded. She ended up showing me but was more concerned with us checking our pockets for items than with acknowledging my frustrations. read more

We have long been fans of Nightmare on 13th and were so excited to find that the geniuses behind it were creating an escape room! My wife and I and two friends came and did the "Walk the Plank" pirate-themed escape room. I had high expectations, but Escape on 13th blew them out of the water (bad pun intended)! The amount of detail in the room was absolutely incredible. The puzzles were challenging, but not insurmountable and the hint system was genius. There were also some pretty incredible special effects that I won't describe because I don't want to give anything away! On the whole, this was an incredible experience and well worth the price. For $25 a person, that's pretty standard for escape rooms in the area, but here you get a much more immersive experience. We will definitely be returning to try our hand at "Rogue Agent" and, when it opens in a couple months, "Curse of Anubis!" Escape on 13th makes for an excellent date night, family night or team-building exercise. Do yourself a favor and book an escape room! read more
