This was my first "Escape" experience. Our group of four was with another group of four. We did the Casino Heist ... very disappointed. The room was minimal in terms of building an atmosphere (it looked like an empty office with some tables added) - no attention to details, didn't have a feeling at all like I was in a "casino." To be honest, we were fed several clues - and as we reflected back on them couldn't understand how one would ever know what to do! Let me say that our entire group holds graduate degrees, are successful business people and were completely sober! :) Seems much of the clues were contingent on one knowing on particular casino game (which none of the 8 of us knew). Other clues were revealed by adding random numbers, crazy! From a list of several (maybe 8) numbers you were supposed to add a specific 3 to gain a clue. REALLY? Do you know how many combinations you can make with 8 numbers?! As a successful business professional I advise the crew to look at building an atmosphere (even the waiting area was bland); rethink your clues and be HAPPY to answer questions post experience - the staff member that "helped" us afterward was hurried, seemingly annoyed and even told us she didn't have alot of time! Customers are key to all of our businesses, I suggest perhaps some customer service training. I plan to visit other Escapes in the area and eventually will go back here to see if any of these suggestions were considered - we all need feedback! read more

This place is great! I've now gone to 2 different rooms and they were both really fun. The people are very nice and helpful. This 2nd time, my group was caught on the highway due to several accidents and we were running late. They were accommodating in our situation, allowing us to still go thru the room. My husband and I have done approximately 28 rooms from NC, OK and now CO. This was, by far, the least welcoming environment we've been in. The game masters were not paying attention to our progress, as a result they gave us a clue that didn't actually help, as it was to utilize something we hadn't even found yet. While the room was well decorated and the theme was satisfactory (casino heist) their use of puzzles was very pedestrian. I've never been not excited to escape a room successfuly, but in this case I was. If you're looking for a high quality escape room run by welcoming and enthusiastic individuals, I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

We did the beyond the flower shop room and it was so fun! challenging but not too challenging, just the perfect amount. The lady who helped us, Malika was super great and nice! Overall a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend. Wish i could give it like a 4.9 star rating but my only criticism was that the last clue in the room didn't have super clear audio but other than that, loved it! read more

We are a family of four, two teen daughters, who chose to spend Mother's Day afternoon in the Egyptian Tomb @ Escapeworks Denver. What a total blast!!!! Worst experience I've had at an escape room. I've done many other escape rooms in the Denver area, and this was such a low quality room. We did Casino Heist. When we arrived the employees were not welcoming, and they stated that they needed to to reset the room. It took them over 20 minutes to reset, but throughout that time, the employees seemed unknowledgeable of what they were doing. They'd often peek out the room looking distressed, which was unsettling. When we started the room, the employee asked "Have you done escape rooms before?" We stated we had, and he said "Okay cool, good luck." And that was the extent of any explanation we received. When we started the room, we could tell something was off. Everything we did was purely guesswork. The poker chips were misplaced, causing part of the room to not be solved properly. We didn't get a clue until over 30 minutes in, which raised concerns that the employee wasn't watching. One lock didn't work properly. When the clues were given, there were several typos, which were not apart of the puzzle. After he gave us the first clue, the clues were non-stop and gave us no chance to solve things on our own. Once into the vault, the "lasers" were constantly going off, even when we were clearly not in their path. Once we were finally out of the room, the employee admitted to messing around and not treating the room with integrity. He specifically said that he was messing with the alarm from the lasers via remote in the lobby, causing us to lose time. He was very unprofessional and ruined the story immersion. Overall, the room was unorganized, clues given out of order, and we were very unsatisfied and frustrated with our experience here. read more

So much fun! We had a blast during the Casino heist! The two of us with a handful of strangers, all heading into the puzzle confident that we could crack it..well..it beat us in the end but it was a great experience. The clues were much more challenging than we had imagined, giving us such a thrill when we actually figured one out. Really clever set up that keeps you thinking outside the box for the entire hour. We had a great group, and though 'We got caught'..it was an exciting, unique, very fun way to spend a Saturday night. I want to do all the rooms now! read more

Me and a few friends went here for my birthday a few days ago. It was their first time doing an escape room and my second. For the price, it was worth it. My only complaint is that they should tell you the difficulty level of each room online before you book. I may have chosen a different one than the one we played, (outbreak) due to the difficulty level and our inexperience. read more

The room had 12 people in it which was way too crowded. There were 2 black lights which both didn't work and had to be adjusted from the staff during our game. There were also 2 items which were suppose to be plugged into outlets which were not which also caused disturbance from the staff. In addition to this, the room wasn't as interesting as other puzzles - mostly just basic locks with number combinations. I really wish I would have gotten a refund for so many things that weren't properly set up. read more

Went there last nite for the first time so we had no idea how it worked. The person giving the initial instructions talked so fast (kind of like they recite this 20 times a day) we had no idea what we were supposed to do. Once in the room, we stood there for 5 minutes waiting for some clue to come on the TV???? Some really basic instructions for first timers would have been really easy to do. We were also not sure what our goal was so we kind of were at a loss. Eventually we started looking at items and figured out what to do. Unfortunately one of our TV clues had a typo which made solving that clue impossible. Really, a typo in a short sentence? Now that we've been there we'd know what to do the 2nd time but I'm sure we won't be back. Overall it was fun but just not worth it for us. read more

Went here for my wife's birthday. The employees were very helpful as it was our first time. We did the big game. While it was relatively difficult we did get out with a few minutes to go. Needless to say we had a blast and would highly recommend this place to anyone. Honest people running the place! read more

Great experience! We thought it would be cake but it was anything but. Although we had a great time, we didn't make it. It's made us want to try again and see what the other rooms have in store for us. Trace and the rest of the staff were awesome and did a great job setting us up. I received an EscapeWorks Groupon for my birthday and wasn't super excited to use it. My family pushed me to reserve a time, so we finally went yesterday to the Egyptian Tomb. IT WAS SO FUN! We were in there with another couple and fortunately were all able to work together. We ended up running out of time with only one clue to go, so we did pretty well! Our party of five did the Egyptian Tomb room and managed to beat the room record by three minutes, with the help of our awesome guide Jen. As an escape room enthusiast I felt the room was very well done, the theme was great and well executed. This would be a great room for escape room newbies but if you are more experienced try one of their more challenging rooms. read more

For the record, I'm not giving this place 3 stars simply because we did not escape (although I am disappointed about that...). I honestly really enjoyed our escape room at the time, but I think there is room for improvement in retrospect. This is the third escape room I have done in my lifetime, and compared to the other escape rooms I've been in, the EscapeWorks' rooms are tinyyy for 8 people and their puzzles are on the less creative side. We did the casino room. The clues were scattered throughout the room in blatantly obvious locked boxes, so the process was pretty formulaic (ie. use clues to open box to find key to open another box, etc), albeit challenging. The puzzles were also linear in nature, which made it difficult for all team members to feel useful--some team members would be standing anxiously to the side while others were solving the next puzzle. Overall, I feel that the Groupon justified paying EscapeWorks a visit, but I don't see myself returning here to pay regular price. read more

This was so much fun! We were soooooo close to escaping and the time was up but whether you escape or not, definitely an hour well spent! I went with my boyfriend and 6 friends and I'd highly recommend doing it with 8 total people that you know if possible because we all had something to contribute and I think it helped that we knew each other so we could talk to each other as such! Something important to keep in mind - if your room is booked for 8:30, your timer starts at 8:30 sharp whether you're late or not so don't be late so you can get all your time! read more

My best friend and I went to EscapeWorks Denver a few weeks ago and it was AMAZING!! We got a groupon and signed up for a room but the room we really wanted requiered 3 persons minimum. However, we were able to get in anyway. It was better than expected by far! We did the Prohibition Room and just when we thought it wouldn't be too hard, it took some serious brainstorming and teamwork. There were a lot puzzzles too-about 15 or so and we went all the way to the last second! Great theme, great people, great time. Will definitely recommend and go again!! This is the second escape room I've done and it was definitely a disappointment. A group of 8 of us did the Casino Heist room. The room was pretty small and not a lot of room for 8 people to roam around and all contribute. There were basically only 2 or 3 of us working on a clue at any given time. Overall, the clues and puzzles we had to solve were not very creative, and they felt very random. When one puzzle was solved, it was a bit ambiguous as to what we needed to do next. I wasn't expecting any of this to be easy, but most of the time we didn't know if we were on the right track. Without giving away any secrets, we were working on a puzzle that had already been solved earlier when a clue had been given to us by the staff. We didn't realize that we were wasting our time on one area because there were actually two ways of getting the answer. There was no flow to the puzzles; it was basically a big jumbled mess of clues that eventually got you to the end (we did not make it out in time), but by the time we were done we looked back and thought it seemed very sporadic and disorganized. The room escape experience was fun, but next time we're gonna try a different place. read more
