Had so much fun at Escapology. We did the Mayday escape room that places you inside Air Force one. You have to save the aircraft as it plummets toward earth. The puzzles were challenging but manageable. You get unlimited clues from the games master. We used about 3/4 to keep us on target. We escaped with two minutes to spare! Fun escape room! We "escaped" with the aid of three hints. Escapology has unlimited hints, so only stubbornness will prevent you from escaping. The puzzles were creative and we felt challenged (especially since there were a couple we couldn't solve). Mayday room set up was pretty cool but it was a bit tight for 6 people even though the max occupancy is 8. I'd recommend 5 at most. We booked 8 spots and 2 fell through - I understand two random people could have theoretically asked to join our private group, but we would have been packed in there. We also only got 4 wrist bands at the end, not that that was as important. The room also smelled like Abercrombie so it was kinda hard to bear for an hour.. maybe good motivation to break out faster. One of the codes also didn't work even though the staff confirmed our code was correct.. somehow it just worked after many repeated tries and we got out, but it felt a bit underwhelming. Good experience! It was fun overall and the game master was chill. However, there were some technical issues throughout our time that were not resolved efficiently. For example, the timer never started. So we had to use our own phone to guess how much time we had left. The hints weren't coming through so we lost a lot of time just pressing the button and waiting for a response. We even went out of the room to look for the game master but they weren't around. Still a fun time but wish the issues were resolved quicker. We escaped though! I'd come again. Technical issues wouldn't deter me. read more

This is an excellent escape room space! Our guide was enthusiastic and helpful. We booked 5 people for the Murder Mansion. We were nervous about the 9/10 difficulty level, but managed to escape with a few minutes to spare. The guide showed us an example of a cipher device to ensure we were familiar with the mechanism before entering the room. The room itself was well lit and elaborate - the puzzles were compelling and fun! The guide gave us good clues when we asked, and gave us a free clue when we were clearly stuck on a puzzle for a while. We left feeling challenged and satisfied! This is one of the better escape room spaces in all of the DC area. Excited to come back soon! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Under the FAQ questions on their website it states that in the occurrence of rescheduling, " be able to change your game to an alternative slot or provide credit for a future game. Please call the venue for more details." Upon calling I was spoke to in a condescending manner by the owner who told me she would only be able to cancel my booking with no refund or reschedule my booking for a $50 charge. A $50 charge was never stated anywhere on the website. I was also giving a courteous 48 hour notice in advance that the group wasn't going to be able to make it due to a member being sick from chemotherapy treatment. She continued to speak over me as I tried to explain the situation. Completely heartless and horrendous service. Would never recommend or give my money to this business. It seems like they must really be struggling if they are so unable to be flexible and just want to take your money. Clearly there is plenty of time for the reservation slot to be filled so my rescheduling would have been no loss on their end. read more

I came here to celebrate my birthday and it was a wonderful experience. It was a really cold and windy day and they offered hot water and hot cider while we waited for the rest of the group to join us and for the room to be ready. My friends and I did the Mansion Murder and I'm happy to say we escaped! :) I was impressed by the details and design of the room, everything wove together beautifully. The game master was helpful in giving us clues along the way. This was my first escape room experience and I had a amazing time! I came here on a date Saturday night and was very impressed with the establishment and the staff were very friendly and very helpful. You have an hour to escape whichever theme you choose and just pretty interactive. The staff come in to help periodically especially if you are close to figuring out a clue. I will definitely come back and try some of the other rooms. I recommend the Budapest train experience, it was tough but overall really fun if you like to problem solve! read more

We did the Mansion Murder room! The operators were really nice, and everything in the room worked very well. I was impressed with how technologically advanced some of the puzzles in the room were. DIFFICULTY: Riddles/puzzles were challenging, but made logical sense. We made it out with five minutes to spare. ATMOSPHERE: The room was decorated nicely and matched the theme. It all made for a cohesive experience. Would definitely recommend this company to a friend! read more

Two clues were unattainable. One was in a puzzle box that not even the staff could open. The second the staff simply FORGOT to place IN THE ROOM. We spent 22 mins looking for a clue that was supposed to be in the room but wasn't! Complete waste of money and extreme frustration! read more

My area is under a winter advisory with snow and high winds, and they won't let me reschedule without paying a $50 fee. Zero flexibility in today's environment is shocking to me. And the owner was condescending when I contacted her with the issue. Not recommending or going back any time soon. Good luck to them if $50 is worth losing repeat business over. read more

We came to this Escape room from out of town and accidentally booked at the wrong location. Raquel was very accommodating with our mistake by contacting the other location (separate owner) and let us know that we can go to this closer location on short notice. We were even 10 minutes late and she allowed us to have our full hour session while explaining the instructions clearly for those of us that have never done an escape room before. They have great customer service and the escape room itself was a lot of fun. Definitely would recommend for anyone that loves escape rooms! read more

The location is in a nice spot with very convenient parking just to the side. When I arrived the host was very nice and got us checked in very quickly. The facility is nice and clean as well as the bathrooms. I for the most part enjoyed our room. There were some really good puzzles and they varied in style. Some things I didn't enjoy as much were that two of the puzzles seemed too complicated with components that were spread throughout the room. I'm not sure as to how one of the puzzles was supposed to connect when components weren't near each other. The other thing was things were not obvious when they happened. We had to be told when something opened because there was no sound, light, or indication something had happened. Clasps were tiny and hidden, a keypad that was also hidden from the naked eye. Wasted time until we asked for help looking for a hidden small keypad that was tucked behind an object. Also a screen changes but there's not chime, sound, light, that something new has appeared. I would have hoped that the game master would have mentioned little things like that more often. They did mention two things which I appreciated. Overall it was a good room but definitely needs some work making it more user friendly read more

My family and I have been obsessed with these escape rooms! They have you wear gloves and masks in rooms and you can tell they are super clean! We had so much fun figuring it out and I have done all but one and I can't wait to go back and do it! I have done many escape rooms in the area and this by far my favorite location! read more

Warning: very rude! We made these reservations several weeks ago and were really looking forward to trying this new escape room. With the current covid-19 situation and social distancing is strongly encouraged we decided not to risk it (not because we are afraid of catching it ourselves but because social distancing is the right thing to do currently). I know the cancellation policy says no cancellations but again, given that social distancing is the right thing to do now I thought they would be more lenient allow me to cancel without being charged. I was told they would give me a credit. We had every intention of going back when the situation improves but since we don't know when that will be I asked if it was possible to just get a refund instead. The woman on the phone suddenly got so rude and started yelling that they don't even have to give me a credit. I understand what the cancellation policy is but shouldn't everyone be encouraged to do the right thing (ie social distancing) and not yell at people for trying to prevent the spread of the global pandemic we are facing. These are not normal circumstances. The whole experience on the phone was very off putting. I would go pretty much anywhere else other than there after that, not because of the refusal to give me a refund (I understand the policy) but because of the tone of the conversation. read more
