My favorite local hardware store, all the people are friendly and they surprise me sometimes with the items they have for that quick stop.

We are always interested in knowing about a good quality store that offers excellent service. I went to #AceHardware to get some help with refurbishing my oak dining room table. I cannot say enough good things about the amount of service and excellent advice I got. The moment I walked into the store someone greeted me first thing and immediately helped me find what I was looking for and then again some. I wasn't quite sure of the stain I wanted and the salesperson not only showed me an array of the stains that we thought might work but also gave me his personal stain matcher booklet to take home with me to match the desired stain exactly to my table. And let's not stop there. He brought out a nice piece of oak wood and tried out not one but two different stains on it so I can see how it would look. If you don't like personalized service that goes above and beyond the call of duty then definitely do not go to Ace Hardware on the corner of El Norte and Nordahl. But if you want to be wowed by old time small town friendly, courteous and most helpful customer service then by all means check them out. They are my now first go to home repair store. read more

Upon first visit ,and as a long time ACE customer in several cities in past, was impressed with spacious, well organized store and 2 very friendly clerks while leaving screen door for re-screening. Did a great job but upon return to home, discovered a roller missing so returned to store to be told by a 3rd clerk that roller was not missing when I picked up screen and it must be in my car or at home. It was not and I did not appreciate the suggestion that I was being less than honest. Left without it being repaired and will not be returning to ACE. Worse than just poor customer service. I went in to my local Escondido Ace Hardware to have the screen on our screen door replaced, our pup had run through it in his eagerness to get outside. The team there was SO helpful they got it done the same day and even put the new wheels I had purchased on the door for me before I left. Great customer service. All of the employees at this ACE store are fantastic. I met most of them when my company was doing the tenant improvement construction. Like many construction projects in an older building not everything went perfectly and the owner and I came to a mutually acceptable discount in my final invoice to compensate the work and scheduling that he was not happy with. That was in April of 2017. Much to my disappointment he has elected to not paid me the $9,000.00 + that he still owes. I'm a small company and $9,000.00 is a lot. I give Ace hardware a 5 star rating for customer service and volume of products. Since the store opening its location is extremely convenient for us and the selection is great. We'll be buying our home improvement items here and other merchandise as we need them. I recommend this store to others. Job well done Ace, you've Ace'd it. read more

Can't say enough about the location but that's the least of what this store offers. I have had one of my usual difficult projects which took more than a couple trips to get it figured out. The help from each of the individuals I interacted with was beyond the highest of expectations. The consistency was such that a customer is certain to find very kind, friendly and effective help. So much so that this single store just may put Lowes and Home Depot out of business. So nice to see some good old-fashioned courteous and patient service. read more

Oh Ace, where can I start?! My husband and I came down to Escondido to rescue two hairless kittens. After a quick pit stop at subway for some food, we found that my husbands car had broken down--and I mean completely, dead, not even turning over. Here we are with two baby kitties in a dead Volvo, 150 miles from our house. We panicked and looked around at where we were and immediately went to Ace to ask for some nearby help. What we thought would be some speedy advice turned out to be hours of undeserved kindness. We told one employee what had happened and within minutes the entire staff was helping us. Two of them (their names I have forgotten since) offered to watch the cats while two others helped us with the car. Jake grabbed his truck and tried jumping it. To no avail. The help didn't stop there though, jake asked multiple customers who came into the store if they had jumper cables and a more powerful truck. Jake was off the clock but he stayed an extra hour just to help us. Pretty soon he was in the lot with us, his eyes peeled for big trucks parking. One employee clocked off but gave us his phone number in case we needed him to come back (leave his party to return to the parking lot!). Meanwhile, the two female employees were taking care of our cats. We ended up calling AAA -- but we cannot thank the Ace staff enough for showing us true generosity. This is months and months late but it needed to be said sooner than later. Thank you! read more
