This is the smaller of the 2 HDs in Escondido, and the one closest to me. It's also easier to access because the other one is close to Auto Parkway. I'm usually either here for supplies for work, or for items to repair or maintain my house (not surprisingly). The employees are fairly helpful, because some of the items you're looking for are probably in completely random places. Asking is better than wandering from aisle to aisle trying yo find the weird item you need. This isn't Costco, lol. I like that they have the self-check kiosks, because I'm usually only buying a few things and it's faster. Getting in and put from the parking is also fairly easy. read more

Well First I came to this Home Depot to pick up some things and The Employees working were nice and They were pretty helpful . As I was walking around and trying to find the things I was picking up there were some employees walking around and I asked them for help and they knew exactly where things were . It's always good to find help and they were helpful . Here is an home improvement store that carries everything for your home repairs . The selection is good here and if you're looking for anything to repair your home then I recommend Home Depot and the prices aren't bad either . Overall I mostly come to Home Depot when I need anything from home repairs or to even gardening. I can see myself returning if I needed anything for that project or that repair !!! read more

Lots of great stuff in Home Depot. I like the option of their website bc you can look stuff up and see if it's available in your nearby store. It'll even tell you what aisle & bay it is in. Staff is super friendly. I'm not really knowledgeable about lumens but I brought my broken lightbulb in and they were super friendly and helped me find a new set of lightbulbs. Prices are reasonable. It's the holiday season. So. Last years decor needs a refresh or new electric cords. I had no desire to go in a store. So I ordered on line for pick up.i won't lie, I was skeptical about the "lockers". I loved the order online process. Smooth. Quick. And good updates. I got an email and a text with the info about the locker. I followed the email, and it felt super secured (which I didn't realize how secure till I got home and the follow up email arrived). Got my items, and popped right back in the car to get right back to my home project! I loved this process!!!! No getting distracted, which for me is easy. I had an issue with a gift card that was gifted to me so we went to the customer service line to receive assistance. The associates who helped us and did our check out were pleasant and kind. However, when we were trying to exit, apparently not where the "exit" was (we didn't know), our cart got stuck. I asked her another staff member if it was okay to kinda move the cart she was working next to just a bit for us to pass. Her response was filled with such sarcasm -- "you could also go where it says exit." In my opinion, it really wasn't about what she said but her tone of saying it that left a bad taste in my mouth. Been going to Home Depot since it first opened. But lately I feel it's gone downhill. What I liked was the service and how friendly the employees were to help you. On several trips lately this hasn't been the case. Example today I needed to purchase two 1x2x12ft boards for an outside staircase and have them cut into 3ft lengths. Two employees walked by me when I was struggling to load the boards on a cart. I was curious if they would offer to help, they didn't. Another customer came over to help me. I asked a H.D. employee if I could get someone to cut the boards. It turned out he was the supervisor of the dept. He said for me to go back to the bandsaw, and he would help me. He never showed up! After walking back and forth I finally tracked him down. When asked if he had the time now, he seemed irritated that I asked. I'm 78 years old and didn't want to stay any longer in the store with that attitude so I told him I was leaving. He couldn't care less and walked away. Goodbye Home Depot hello Lowe's. read more

Rating this a one since there are no lower numbers. I tried to rent a small Kubota tractor there today. After Luna had taken a $500 deposit from my bank account she cancelled the transaction because she thought there might be something wrong with the tractor. That turned out not to be true, the tractor is fine. They then asked me for another $500 deposit on top of what had already been removed from my account and not re-credited after cancellation. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. Why should I have to go another $500 out of pocket to cover someone else's mistake? I would avoid this place like the plague unless you really want to be abused as a customer. Shameful. read more

Tool Rental Review... The process to rent a tool from Home Depot was so easy and the rental department guys were friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely use them again for my future home project needs. I had major muck and root blockage in my backyard drainage system. Basically my backyard would flood after a few days of rain.. The people that previously owned my house had no concept of drainage so I was forced to build a new system and clean out the line to the street. To hire a professional rooter it would cost several hundred dollars and they would have recommend hydro-jetting because of the roots. That service alone starts at $350.. So, I researched online and saw that Home Depot rented tools (large snake rooters) that can cut roots and clear muck. It was like $70 to rent. The heavy machine (two person job) was slow and a lot of arm work breaking through my tough clogs and roots.. It took two hours of intense forward/reverse action but finally I cleared out my major root blockages. While this is only a temporary fix because the pipes are compromised, this along with my new French drains will hopefully keep my yard clear of flooding for at least 5 more years, hopefully longer. For the price, renting the large snake tool was a win for me... read more

Never again. After having spent $4,000.00 on new kitchen appliances, I attempted to return/exchange my un-used, too-big (standard depth) LG refrigerator, in order to purchase the correct (counter depth) unit. The appliance dept. person told me that "because the item had been in my possession for over 48 hours, they would not take it back." Even though, it had sat in my garage until that very morning prior to installation. Due to HD's "policy," they have lost a long-term customer, who has spent untold thousands of dollars at their stores over the years. I've also related my experience to others, in hopes that they will avoid Home Depot at all costs. This location has some glaring problems, first of all the checkout is all the way to the right at the front of the store while the returns are on the opposite side. It should just be in the middle. Additionally the isles are in desperate need of a help button or a computer you can search on like Target has, as I had to get in the return line just to get some assistance for an item that was incorrectly listed as a certain isle on their website. Staff members were less than happy to help and I saw multiple staff members having loud, casual conversions with customers who were clearly their friends when meanwhile I needed help finding something. Additionally the prices are very high compared to Amazon or even AutoZone which is in the same center. There is no Apple/Google Pay here and it's one of the only stores in existence at this point that doesn't have it, get it together Home Depot! read more

I would not recommend flooring (and install) to anyone. Honestly, zero stars would be my rating but it's not available. This is primarily for the gardening/nursery department. It is clean and the plants looked healthy, fresh, and well cared for. Friendly staff. Prices are better than Lowe's. Good location. The layout of the store, shelf placement, and lack of signage made it somewhat difficult to navigate. The merchandizing doesn't flow well and seems random; lacking in purpose. Something that was a major bummer was the lack of variety; in product type as well as brand options (especially soil). This was most impactful to me because soil was the reason I went there. I have to mention also that several shelves looked under stocked or even out of a product entirely here and there. Maybe a shipment is coming tomorrow morning. I have a feeling that the nursery/gardening department at this Home Depot is smaller than others. A redeeming quality: Norma! Norma smiled, made me feel welcome, twice stopped to help me, and humored my kid's desire to share information with strangers. What a gem, that Norma. So glad she was there. 3 hispanic female cashiers were rude, and passive-aggressive during check-out. Even the two not involved or aware of the transaction who seemed to just join in with the first female because she seemed annoyed or frustrated with her work or having to be there or something. Ironically I witnessed those same two females walk over and be overly kind and helpful to hispanic customers however who were also at the self-checkout area. It was an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience, especially as a military veteran watching the vast difference in treatment between this cashiers acting polite and overly respectful specifically toward specifically hispanic customers. The "head cashier" had written on her vest under name as "Tatty", this was 6/17/23 at approximately 9:30am on a Saturday. I cannot confirm if the treatment if non-hispanic customers is typically this way, however, my experience here was negative to the point where I felt a responsibility to share this experience with the company and here with the community. Perhaps they were having a bad day. Either way, there is no excuse for providing unequal / disrespectful behavior toward customers of any ethnicity. Hopefully this review prompts the company to review the treatment of all customers. Lets hope it was just a bad day, maybe a late night last night for her, and that is not how they typically treat non-hispanics. We can hope. read more

I went in on the hope to find an easy kit to fix my chair. The wood had separated from a screw and I thought some wood glue could do the job, boy was I wrong! No it was a much bigger job. I would have never got it done without the help of at least 3 members of your team, I wish I could say I noted their names but I didn't. They helped me cut the wood 2 different times and then help me find the right screws. 2 trips but it's fixed! They went above and beyond to make sure I was helped to fix my chair! Unfortunately on my last two visits, a paint department employee was not wearing a mask, and I noticed another employee wearing a mask, but not covering her nose. In order to understand the reasoning why this was an excellent visit, I must first explain why it easily could have been my last visit to Home Depot. I had purchased online and chose to pick up at Escondido II, as I've done several times before. I used a card that has plenty of money in the account, again, as I have several times before. I showed up at 8:00 pm to pick up my order and found out the system voided or canceled two of the three items I purchased. The only one it didn't cancel now said that it wasn't in stock. At this point I was dealing with an employee who lacks the calmness and charisma that's really critical in these types of potentially frustrating situations. Instead, and I'm sorry to say, she allows chaos to breed. Ok no problem, I'll put the order in again. Boom! Order in, got confirmation, says it's ready to pick up, but.... (Dramatic pause).... the system voided it. This happens again 5 more times. I'm sure you're thinking I'm exaggerating, but I have screen shots of every single time it confirmed, accepted my order, told me it was good to pick up, and subsequently canceled it. Two and a half hours later, with all the lights turned off except for the closing lights, and your system finally was able to get an order to stick for me. Now, most people would have completely lost their you know what.... most people, if they had to deal with everything that I dealt with, probably would have ran to the lumber department, gathered some kindling along with the most combustible materials they could find, stopped by the paint department to adorn their face in ceremonial war paint before heading out to the parking lot for a sacrificial bonfire while dancing around wildly praying to the retail gods to smite the malevolent Home Depot.... or at least would have been a bit annoyed. So why didn't I go all 5150 and end up in restraints from mentally snapping? Simple.... Jimenia. One word... (Because I don't know her last name). Jimenia is the reason that the powerful Gods didn't come down from Home Improvement Heaven to deliver their wrath. This employee brings the opposite of what the first employee I dealt with brought. Jimenia brings a calmness to chaos. She controls chaos with such grace, charisma, and gentleness, it might even be overlooked by her supervisors. We sometimes don't take notice and appreciate the nice calm days like we should, but we seem to always notice the stormy days where tornados leave a wake of destruction. Unfortunately we also tend to talk about those bad type of days ten times more than we talk about the nice ones. I don't know Jimenia and she doesn't know me. I don't know what position or title she holds, but that makes her even more amazing. She didn't control the situation with positional power. She didn't rush over and say, "Don't worry sir, I'm a manager and that means I can fix stuff!!" Nope... she just gently swooped in, empathized with my situation, showed a true intent to serve, and that girl handled her $hit. If she's not the General Manager, regional manager, or Vice President, then you better treat her right and hold her tight, because you have something more valuable than crystallized carbon that is formed over millions of years under the most perfect conditions of pressure and heat. But the diamond you have handles the pressure and heat better than I've ever seen anyone handle. I know it's hard to find good people. I've hired and trained hundreds of individuals in the customer service/sales industry whose annual income soared into the mid six figure range. I'm telling you from experience that Jimenia would easily rival the best of them. So yes, it's hard to find good people, but even harder, if not impossible to replace someone as good as her. So take notice and appreciate what you have... because no one wants to visit a place that is only filled with tornados and storms around every corner. Lastly, keep in mind that it's now 11:30 at night and I am still going to install the hot water tank I purchased, that I SHOULD have been done installing and in bed by now, but took the time to write this literary work of art because of how impressed I was with her. This location never answers calls and we've tried various departments. Since this was the only location with the specified item in stock, we ordered online for curbside pickup. The order took a little over 20 hours to be "ready." We drove over 2.5 hours and parked at the appropriate curbside spot. We responded to the Home Depot text that we were waiting at curbside for our order. An hour passed and no one came out, so we went inside only to find 3 employees helping each other solve another customers issue while there were 4 other customers waiting. Since we had been waiting for another 30 mins in line which was not moving, we left and cancelled this order.
