Had my eye on hitting up this place to pick up a Cuban coffee and pastelito de guayaba con queso. Yummmm The coffee was perfect and came with the signature little shot cups. And the guava and cheese pastelito? Chef's kiss. My husband got a cafe con leche and he likes his coffee light and sweet. I like mine less sweet. He said although it was not as sweet as he normally takes his coffee, it was perfect nonetheless. I had to agree. They have a hot bar and serve all sorts of hot food, sandwiches and such, not just pastries and cakes. We nabbed some croquetas to go, which are made to order and kept it moving. I have never had a Cuban cake before. The boys got a cupcake and the cake is VERY moist. It is just different, in a good way. Frosting was on point too, not heavy. Some people complained that if you are non/Spanish speaking service is lackluster. I cannot even verify because everyone that came in, including us were Spanish speaking so...idk. But you can tell that this is favorite local spot and a family member recommended it. When we come back to visit, you can find me here.

A Cozy Fall Morning at Sour & Dough…read more Stopped by Sour & Dough Company this morning and was pleasantly surprised by how charming this spot is! I ordered the banana bread -- it was delicious, though a bit drier than I expected -- and the banana pudding matcha, which actually had pudding on top (and even came with a spoon!). You could say this breakfast stop was a real monkey time. Huge shoutout to Anna, the friendly worker who took a quick video of my first reaction to that first sip -- such a sweet gesture! The space itself is a dreamy fall scene: soft, cozy cushions mixed with sturdy tables that are perfect for studying or catching up on work. I loved people-watching as the morning rush brought the neighborhood to life. They also offer some unique add-ons like pumpkin seeds, coconut shavings, and homemade sourdough ingredients -- perfect for anyone with a home bakery vibe. Definitely coming back to this local gem -- it's the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy the little things.

In fact, we weren't even greeted upon entering the restaurant, despite there being three staff behind the counter. The service was extremely slow - slow to order and slow to get the food and drinks. The lattes were decent, but the baked goods (cinnamon roll, etc) were mediocre and expensive IMO. Lastly, went to the restrooms before leaving and the rear hallway was full of boxes and trash and the bathroom itself was gross.

We sampled the Quiche of the day, Quiche Lorraine and an almond croissant with a Pistachio Vanilla Latte. Both items hit the 5-star category! Croissant was flaky, crunchy and the best Quiche in Florida! The Banana Nut Bread, Sticky Buns, Cinnamon Roll, Tiramisu and cookies looked so amazing, you want to take a few home! We were early and were able to sit in one of inside tables. As we were tasting the latte, more than a dozen of patrons stop by for pickup orders. The ambiance is plain and simple. The lovely young lady behind the counter gave us exceptional service with a friendly smile! This is a cashless facility so make sure you have your credit card or e-wallet with you. This is a best place to go for pastry and coffee in Estero!

Croissant was buttery and flakey and the ham and cheese didn't overpower the delicate taste of the croissant. The cookie was rich and gooey and so good! We had to take most of it to go. Love our little experience at the Pastry Boutique:) Will certainly visit again.

My first visit here about little after 8 AM on a Friday morning. The place is clean; and there are six inside tables. Several customers having breakfast inside and several customers pickup their breakfast items to go. Not knowing their menu that well, so I said, "Café con leche, Pastelito de Guayaba y Queso, Café Mediano, Por Favor!" The lady behind the counter smiled and said, "Si!" The pastelito is full of Guaya, flicky and crunchy and the Café con leche hit the spot. Now my caffeine crave is fixed. I looked around, beside breakfast items, it has a huge selection of pastries, smoothies, juices, Cuban Pizza and hot food for lunch. Very interesting, will be back to sample their smoothies, Cuban Pizza and hot food!

Upon walking in, there were no employees to be seen. There was already a line formed with customers trying to get somebody's attention in the kitchen. It took a while for an employee to come out. They had to verify my already packaged order in the back, which further delayed my "quick" pickup. I ordered three pastelitos (guava pastries) which were $1.50 each on DD-- it's probably cheaper to order through the bakery itself, but the price was still comparable. The pastries were flaky and crispy, but there wasn't too much filling. Still, I would probably come again and try some other items.
