I found Tabitha shortly after adopting my dog Kestrel, about a year & a half ago. I'd never had my own dog, so even though I *thought* I was prepared, I needed all the help I could get. When Kestrel was a puppy, Tabitha helped prepare me for the basics- everything from potty training to socialization & general obedience. Having someone help guide me through the process made the "puppy stage" so much more manageable than I had anticipated it would be! As Kestrel grew out of puppyhood, she developed some poor social skills around other dogs- resource guarding me & showing signs of reactivity around other dogs. This caused a spike in my anxiety & was a major challenge for me, but Tabitha refused to give up on us. She gave me all the tools I needed to overcome my anxiety & teach Kestrel better manners around new dogs (we're not completely over that obstacle yet, but we are seeing major improvements). When I went out of town for two weeks over the summer, I trusted Tabitha to take care of my best friend knowing that she would get the same level of care & attention she gets at home, with the added bonus of social play time! I continue to take courses with Tabitha & the Coachella Valley Dog Club because I love my dog so so much & I want to continue giving her the tools she needs to thrive. We recently started scentwork training, & look forward to eventually taking agility courses as well! Kestrel has a small handful of people who she loves with an intensity that she can't contain & Tabitha is one of those people. We count on Coachella Valley Dog Club for obedience, socialization, specialty training, boarding, & even guidance with diet & supplements. As a dog rescuer, I have needed to work with Tabitha several times. She is extremely competent and her confidence is important when dealing with dogs that need to understand who is boss. Life changing for my Munchie and I. Tabitha helped me with pretty much a feral Shih Tzu whose aggression and fear was off the charts. I fancy myself a sort of dog whisperer but with my 15th dog, I needed help. Tabitha was our answer. She helped us understand each other and how to communicate with his agitation. She worked with us for 8 months (well past what we paid her because she would not give up on Munchkin). He broke my finger while grooming him (yes, a Shih Tzu can...) and we scratched our heads how to get him past this terrifying experience. After sedation grooming and many tactics, I'm happy to report he's able to go to a groomer (with the help of Tabitha). This, a MAJOR milestone for my fur baby. Coachella Valley Dog Club is by far the best training option in The Valley. We rescued a dog who was a year and a half old with no training and didn't know his own name. I like Yelp's definition of a 2 star rating - "Meh. I've experienced better." Tabatha's classes seemed very disorganized. No syllabus, no structure. It wasn't like one week we worked on something, then you got a bit of homework to do over the week - then the next class you'd go over it and move on to another thing. There was never really any direction of events. Also, there were lots of young children who had trouble controlling dogs. Trouble especially with dogs that attend for social issues :/ Or one class had a bunch of teen-aged volunteers, which is great, but I think it was too much for just Tabatha to handle alone. They'd congregate and chit-chat and then not be paying attention to their dogs, which spelled trouble for my dog when we'd try to get by them. It was a lot of fun to play with my dog on the agility equipment, so I did really like that. But sadly, I came to class with a leash reactive dog, attended every weekend class religiously, and left 2 and a half months later with the same leash reactivity issues. I really wanted my dog to get a CGC title, but there seemed to be no progress being made in these classes. Again, it was a really fun place to play with my dog, but as far as training goes, I wasn't really seeing progress. read more

I contacted Tabitha to help train my 2 year old boxer who we rescued a few months prior. He didnt trust us not leabe him so his anxiety was bad. We completed basic obedience amd helped build that bond which caused him to relax and grow into a happier dog.. I saw an ad on FB about this inexpensive training so I contacted the poster about training for my very active German Shephards. They were/are puppies (11mo) and needed some major training. I couldn't walk them without them pulling me to the ground (literally). Tabitha came to me and worked with my kids and me on how to effectively train the dogs to be obedient and solve some obedience issues. She was absolutely amazing on helping us understand their behavior so we could recognize why they were acting they way they were and how to correct it immediately. She is very knowledgable and was completely accessible all the time when I had a quick question while we were training with her. By the second class... My two HUGE German shepherds were walking with the family side by side with my children. My young daughters can now walk them. Tabitha helped us solve many issues so we could all live in harmony and love. I can never repay what she has done for my family. I LOVED that she works with the animal shelters by giving the dogs some basic training so they get adopted faster and don't get returned back to the shelter for behavioral problems. A truly selfless thing to do for animals. She loves animals and it shows in her training. Again, Tabitha, THANK YOU! I can never repay you for what you've done for us but I will certainly recommend you to EVERYONE I know. 6 weeks of training at $10 per class?? I don't know how you do it but it was the only thing that enabled me to keep our beloved dogs. I wouldn't have been able to without training.. They're just too big. A few months ago we were looking for someone to train and board our young Labrador retriever, Cooper. Tabitha was one of several we interviewed and met with. We also contacted several referrals from her and received glowing reviews. We met with Tabitha and instantly felt very comfortable with her and she had an immediate connection with Cooper. Tabitha boarded and trained our 6 month old lab for three weeks. She also sent us progress reports and videos of Coopers progress. We are extremely pleased with Tabitha, her teaching methods and the care and guidance she gave our pup. When Cooper returned home, it was clear that he loved her and her family and we in return received a great well behaved puppy. We highly recommend Tabitha for training as she is an excellent trainer and understands how to communicate with dogs of all temperaments. As a trainer she uses all of these skills to help you and your dog to a journey of learning to be the best to each other and for each other. I have known Tabitha for over two years and she has help train me to be a communicator with my dogs so they will respond to what I ask.
