I began taking classes here at Espiritu almost a year ago and it's been the best experience ever. Since day 1, everyone I've met here has been very patient, helpful, and always welcoming to all my questions. This group of people have not only taught me jiu jitsu skills but also confidence, perseverance, and discipline overall. Being exposed to so many different types of people of all different skill levels here has helped me feel more comfortable with the way I carry myself in the world. I really value how Professor Jeremy takes the time to relate various lessons to self defense scenarios or show small details that would make something more effective for a smaller person against a larger person. 100% would recommend anyone I know to give this place a try.

Where can I even begin! The academy itself is beautiful, it's zen like. Almost as if you're stepping into a meditative studio, except you're gonna be rolling around w the toughest people I know. The amenities are wonderful, clean bathrooms, a nice little gym in the back, and a dressing room. A big plus is that it's very clean and cozy!!! I went to up my game for self defense, but I stayed because of the people - especially our professor and his wife. Professor knows what he is doing, he's patient, attentive, and is willing to push you to become better. The classes are challenging but not impossible, and you're free to ask for more instruction. The people are kind and helpful, I simply cannot ask for a better academy. Once you walk in you automatically feel like you're home.

My disappointment is with the organization and how the business is run. One of my biggest concerns was the class size. There were often 20-30 kids in a class, which made it difficult for each child to get enough individual attention. For the amount families are paying, there were many days my child left without really learning or practicing the techniques. If your goal is for your child to build strong fundamentals, I would recommend looking for a gym with smaller class sizes and more one-on-one instruction for a similar or even lower price. Another issue was communication. There was a week when the gym was closed because of a retreat to Hawaii, yet members continued to be charged biweekly without any credit or adjustment. That was frustrating. The cancellation process was the most disappointing part of my experience. When I needed to cancel due to a work schedule conflict, I was told I had to provide a two-month notice. That requirement was never clearly explained when I signed up. I later found out my brother, who attended the same location, was allowed to cancel after paying a $100 fee. Meanwhile, after being a loyal member for a year, I was expected to continue paying nearly $700 for two additional months even though I could no longer attend. I asked to see the section of my agreement that required the two-month notice and also asked why exceptions were made for some members but not others. I never received a response. I even reached out to higher management, but nothing was resolved. I also noticed that the same group of children seemed to be consistently selected for special opportunities and challenges outside of regular class. It feel like not every student was given the same opportunities. Overall, I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication, the cancellation process, and the inconsistent customer service. The gym promotes itself as a family, but when a loyal member experiences a genuine hardship, that support didn't seem to exist. My advice is simple: before signing up, ask detailed questions about cancellation policies, fees, and class sizes so you know exactly what you're committing to.

They also overcharged me for personal training sessions I couldn't attend, and sold us a boxing membership only to get rid of the boxing coach almost immediately. When I asked to cancel, they still kept billing. Every time I talked to management I was told it would be handled, notes would be added, and corporate would follow up. None of that ever happened. Operations manager Tony Avila told me multiple times he would take care of it, but that did not happen. Honestly not sure what "operations manager" means here because nothing was managed and none of the problems were fixed. To make it worse, I later found out the sales staff who signed me up are no longer there because of shady practices, which lines up exactly with what happened to me. Most of the regular staff are nice, but management did nothing to fix the problem. Be very careful what you sign here and watch your bank statements. 1 star added bc i like most of the staff are dope.

Updating my review…read more My youngest son who is on the Spectrum has also joined the Fight Foundation team. We couldn't be more thankful for Sifu Cherry and her team, they work very well with my son. We started with 1:1 classes before integrating him into group classes. My son would elope at home, at the the store basically anywhere, with the help of Fight Foundation my son hardly has that issue now. MMA has taught him discipline and to follow directions. They instructors are great at reinforcing positive behaviors and nipping the bad ones. My son is learning to interact with his peers better and he is equipped to defend himself. We've been with Fight Foundation for many year and highly recommend them. It's also by far the cleanest gym around. We love Sifu Cherry And Sifu Paul, their whole team has always been awesome with us. My son has been with the fight foundation for a few years now. I signed him up because I was tired of my son coming home upset from being physically bullied with little consequences from the school. They've really helped my son with his confidence and bullying is no longer an issue. He's never had to use his MMA skills outside the studio but it's reassuring knowing my son has the tools he needs to defend himself if he's ever in a ugly situation or outnumbered. We can't always be there to protect our kids but you can give them the upper hand. MMA teaches more than just self defense its given my son goals to strive for and discipline outside my household. Thanks again Fight Foundation we love being on your team!

We wanted to get him involved in a physical activity but knew that he was not ready for team sports. When starting him I was very nervous not knowing how he would respond, but to my surprise, within the first month he flourished! Not only has his confidence, self-esteem and physical capabilities grown; he's completely came out of his shell and is eager to participate and speak in front of class! I've watched him grow tremendously with his sensory sensitivities, which have previously held him back from participating in many school and social activities. Mr. Gregory runs an excellent program that holds his students to a high standard not only teaching proper martial arts technique, self-defense, and discipline; but also many life skills that your child will be able to apply to all other aspects of life. As a parent watching class, I must admit that I have also walked away on numerous occasions with self defense techniques or discussion on life skills that I re-apply to myself. Thank you Mr. Gregory, Mr. Stromsoe (amazing instructor!) and the rest of the Legacy Martial Arts team for creating the perfect family martial arts program! To any parent reading this review, I promise that enrolling your child into Legacy Martial Arts is worth the investment.
