I decided to check this place out after seeing it on social media since it's on my way to work. Against my better judgement, I decided to check it out even though I saw the swarm of people. I figured, it's just coffee, how long can the wait be...Oh, it was BAD. I waited 25 min for a latte. The thing is I saw some people get their coffee who had come AFTER me..and they were NOT mobile orders, so of course, that added to the wait...(and annoyed me) It was just a bit too chaotic...Coffee, when I finally got it, was okay but certainly not worth 25 min wait for it. read more

I stopped by this coffee shop on my way from the Union Station. It is a small area with no seating, but it's perfect for getting your caffeine fix while on the go. When we were there, they had 4-5 people working behind the bar, which made for speedy service! I had the mocha with guava which was a new flavor combination to me. I thought it was interesting and enjoyable! The pricing is comparable to other coffeeshops in the area. If you're not looking for a place to sit, this is a good option for coffee! read more

This place has been on my list for a while but I never got to it until I ran across it on the way to my internship. The inside, while small and with no seating, is beautiful with an overall white marble tone. I've been there three times, each time getting a different drink. The rose chai latte was not overly floral as I find with most rose-flavored drinks, the matcha latte was great, and today's honey lavender latte was the perfect blend of the flower and honey. The baristas are very kind and have been willing to answer any questions I had. I'll definitely be back throughout the summer to get my caffeine fix before work and hopefully during my time as a graduate student as well! read more

I stopped by this coffee shop on my way to a conference. Although the line was long, I was able to order quickly. I got an iced brown sugar maple latte, and it was amazing! One of the best coffees I've had since I moved to Chicago. 10/10 I recommend it to any coffee lover. I only wish it had more seating but other than that a must-try. read more

Love it! A quaint little coffee shoppe on the first floor of the Lyric Opera of Chicago building (: the brown sugar maple coffee is definitely one of the best in town. The espresso flavor is there and it's not overpowered by the maple brown sugar. Not too sweet, just right for my taste buds! Chocolate croissant was fluffier than the usual, and the chocolate chips within are not overwhelming but well distributed (melted). Wonderful and trendy coffee spot. The shop is right inside the Civic Opera building and is only open during the week. Like another review mentioned, this place is small and definitely more grab-and-go than other shops. I got one of their winter seasonal lattes (the spiced cookie) and was AMAZED. Absolutely perfect. They had other unique seasonal flavors that I have not seen at other shops so I would encourage people to try this shop just for that alone. Finally returned to the opera house after having been away for two years due to the pandemic, and was excited to see a new espresso bar open right by the Lyric Opera entrance. I love the minimalist, black and white marble aesthetic inside, which goes along well with their dishware and logo branding. I ordered an single espresso con panna (for a nice burst of energy before the start of a 2.5 hour opera performance haha), and was promptly served. The robust, dark-flavored espresso, topped off with a dollop of whipped cream (con panna) was served in a porcelain espresso cup and dish at the marble bar. It actually reminded me of my own experiences with espresso bars in Italy, where customers come in and out for a quick espresso, and I wish there were more places in the city like Espresso and Milk to offer this type of coffee experience. I will definitely be back to try some of the other drinks (the affogato looks really good!) as well as some of the pastries they offer. read more

This place is phenomenal. We were looking for somewhere to grab a coffee on the way to the Field Museum and I am a bit of a snob when it comes to espresso. I am so glad we picked this. I got the rose cardamom limited time latte iced and it was really good tasting espresso. A little less rose and a bit heavier on the cardamom. Fantastic! My co-worker raves about this place located in the Lyric Opera building just over the bridge from Ogilvie and Union Station. We stopped in around 2:30 pm for an afternoon pick me up and we surprised there was a line! But the wait was short and owner/staff were super nice. Not much to the place but that is part of its quaint and modern charm. They have a limited time menu with fun and unique flavors. Great prices too. The best coffee I've had in a long time! This place has the best lattes I have had in the Chicago area full stop. So, so good, perfectly silky and great flavor. Everyone working here is super nice so the service is great. I always go before work so I'm a part of the office worker rush and the energy is more upbeat. Still I never feel like I'm being rushed. I've tried a couple of the croissants and think they're awesome (goat cheese and ham & cheese), though I'm not sure if they're made in house. I wish they were open on weekends! Had my co workers hyping me up about this place near our office and gave it a try one morning. I ordered the Brown Sugar Maple Latte. The latte could use a little more espresso taste as the amount of milk overpowered the roastness. Aside from that, I'd still visit again to try something new on their menu.
