Standard espresso house in Stockholm. It's a nice location to get a break from the cold and crowds. Staff is nice and there is a bathroom that works. Tables are not kept clean, probably due to the high traffic on the place. Nice location to visit when it is not so busy.

Espresso House Drottninggatan Stockholm: Whole wheat bread shrimps sandwich

This Espresso House is located in downtown Stockholm on a shopping street. Its rustic style interior decoration is pretty good! We enjoyed yum mixed vegetarian salad with cheese, whole wheat bread shrimps sandwich, cheese bagel, cardamom muffin and crumbled pie with vanilla sauce. Service was very friendly and atmosphere was agreeable.

Wow, amazing cappuccinos in a beautiful quarter in Stockholm. If you don't ask for a size you will get an enormous mug. Worth it after a long day of walking in the winding streets in the frigid weather. The coffee shop has an authentic vibe despite being a chain coffee shop located on a shopping street. It gets crowded there so you may have to snag a seat while a friend orders the beverages.

This chain café is all over Stockholm and every location is nicely furnished inside, feels like getting coffee at a library or a living room. Coffee is great and they have a good variety of pastries. Fair prices and great ambience, located in one of the most popular shopping streets.

As I am a tourist, I got that crazy milkshake with a cinnamon bun on top of it just for good measure of course. The cinnamon buns in Sweden are obviously exceptional as they originated from there- crunchy on the outside and warm, melted, soft cinnamon goodness on the inside. The waffles are delicious as well, regardless of which waffle you get. All in all, this is a great place to go to if you're visiting Stockholm!

I'm not sure what Swedish waffles and 1950s diners have in common, but this place makes it work for sure. We came in on a Sunday morning, and were able to get seated right away. My cousin and I both had the raspberry waffle with whipped cream (75 sek, approx $8USD.). The waffle was perfectly crispy and the jam was delicious, but it wasn't a particularly filling for the price, really just a treat. They had fancier offerings as well, for a bit more money, as well as savory combinations. I overheard from a neighboring table that you can order a waffle with both whipped cream and ice cream. Where was this information when I was ordering? Oh well, next time. I would visit Älskade Traditioner again, but perhaps only for dessert. Alternatively I may try one of their savory options for a full meal.

The pain au chocolat was also excellent: crisp layers with just the right amount of dark chocolate. Coffee was smooth and rich, and refills on brewed coffee are free. The café has a relaxed vibe, and even though it was busy, the service was quick and friendly. Prices are a bit high, but worth it for the quality. Recommend if you're looking for a great coffee and pastry spot, convenient to city center. Outdoor seating if you're lucky enough to land a spot. If not, there's a nice park across the way, if you order take away.

Although the passageway where the interior seating is situated seemed awkward it actually worked out well. Service, despite a crowd, was fairly quick, I would rate the coffee an A or 9/10 on the scale of strength, low acidity/smoothness. It is espresso based and made to exact order. There are serval options for milk (whole, oat, 1/2 and 1/2, etc). The major complaint would be that there is no easy place to throw away your rubbish, nor is there a place that is clearly evident to bust your dishes, which is much needed given that this is a super busy place.. The staff is too busy to bus tables regularly, which backs up the availability of seating . This is the major reason for a one star deduction.. TIP: You can buy beans or ground coffee for home brewing.
