Been here several times. It's a nice coffee shop. The staff are friendly and attentive. There is a small parking lot out back, which is where you enter. The seating area is a large room with several different table groupings. There are small tables for groups of 2-4. There are big windows on the front, so lots of natural sunlight. There were a few other tables taken, and people were having quiet conversations or doing work. We ended up taking a spot in the corner, with chairs that are made for relaxing, but definitely not for talking :( (they lean way to far back, super awkward). They did a good job making my London Fog Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, and extra foam). There was not a lot of fresh bakery items to choose from. I wanted something more like a scone, but all they had was a cinnamon roll. They heated it up, and it pretty good. We would come back. ps - there is a large world map towards the rear of the shop. I came here a few days ago with my 2 year-old son for some coffee and food. My son ordered a brownie with chocolate milk, and we shared a vegetable quiche, and I ordered a decaf iced americano with oat milk (I'm pregnant and can't have caffeine.) I was surprised because for being decaf I still tasted quite a strong coffee flavor. I very much enjoyed it and will be back! I even ordered a pound of decaf whole beans to go because it was so good. They brew Colectivo Coffee beans at this cafe. My son really enjoyed the brownie and the chocolate milk. He also really liked the veggie quiche as did I. I happened to be passing though Mukwonago and stopped at this coffee shop since I was interested in a chai tea latte. I decided to stay and drink it from a mug and then I also bought a pumpkin muffin from the selections. This chai tea latte was very creamy and tasty! not to sweet, just perfect! Cute little coffee shop in small downtown of Mukwonago. Serve decent coffee, have fresh, made to order sandwiches and small ice cream case as well. Small porch area to drink coffee, but really just meant for 1 or 2 people. They also sell small amounts of crafts & give out free coffee grounds for your garden. I stopped here for lunch after not being here for at least 3 years. I always like to support local business so in a sea of fast food restaurants I chose Espresso Love (plus I wanted to see if it was as I remembered). The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere charming. There are both dining tables and chairs and sofas and plush chairs for lounging, reading the paper, or playing a board game. They also display and sell local art on the walls and sell local goods. Yes, they are kind of expensive, especially for their location (read:not downtown Milwaukee) but for me, it's worth the extra cost. I had one of their monthly special drinks- a pumpkin chai latte. It was fabulous. I also ordered a half of a turkey and provolone sandwich. It was about $6.50-which I thought was a little high but then it came with chips, a pickle, fruit and a mini cupcake and I felt it was fair. They have other deli sandwiches, as well as paninis ($10), breakfast, and bakery. I'm usually not out in Mukwonago, but next time I am I will be sure to stop back again. read more

Harsh but true - sitting here on a Friday morning at 10:50am. Hoped for a breakfast bagel and 3 lattes to go....but after ordering the food, one of the staff members said he didn't know how to make it...so we cancelled the bagels and went for the coffee only. Ironically, the young man in the back who couldn't make the bagel was busy eating his own bagel sandwich in the kitchen. 18 minutes later, our order was complete and we were out the door. The young man at the counter was doing his best to manage the barrista and the other young man who couldn't make the breakfast bagel. The one who couldn't make the bagel was a clear distraction to the customers and the other workers as he flitted around making coffee for himself, eating as he poked in and out of the kitchen and started off the wall conversations with whoever made eye contact. Looked and felt like chaos. Recommend extensive training for each staff member. Also recommend follow-on cross training so each person can fill the others role in a pinch. Finally, recommend observation of those staff members during peak hours to ensure they can handle their customers needs. read more

I've stopped here now multiple times for coffee after rounds of disc golf at nearby Miniwaukan Park and I have yet to be disappointed. The Alterra coffee here is good and I'll take this place over Starbucks any day of the week. The girls here on the weekend take the time to make a perfect latte, and I'd rather wait 5 minutes for a good coffee drink instead of having a crappy one in 2 minutes. The cafe is clean, comfortable and cozy. It's located in an old building on a busy street that I don't think you can park in front of, but they have a big lot in back along with a back door that leads you into the cafe. They have free wi-fi while you're waiting for your drinks or food. I haven't tried the food yet, but I plan to do so and will update then. This is one of the few places I'll stop for a drink in Mukwonago and it's definitely a welcome change from the gas stations and fast food restaurants that litter this suburb. read more

I went in at 4pm, and asked what food I could get that was gluten free. They said anything on the menu except sandwiches and soup... Because they close in AN HOUR and it takes too long for the griddle to cool off, so they would not make a sandwich. I could order soup and take it home cold though, again because the griddle takes too long to cool off. With no other choices left I got a granola bar, iced Latté and gelato for my son. The granola bar was good, the gelato fair, and the Latté terrible! It must have had less than a shot of espresso in it, because it tasted like milk, I have never had such a weak drink. I used to stop by here often, but I think I'll skip it from now on, unless they can train the teenagers working there to make a drink properly, and not be lazy. read more

Nice, local coffee shop in Mukwonago. Nice option if you don't want the chain Starbucks feel. They serve Colectivo Coffee which is a HUGE plus in my book (my very favorite WI coffee!). Friendly service... last time I was there one of the young ladies came to my table and asked if I would like a refill on coffee (they give one free refill if you have regular coffee in a mug). Atmosphere is not super special but it is fine. read more

This place is mediocre at best. I waited 10 minutes for the woman to take my coffee order when there was no one else in line. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich. After waiting 15 minutes for the sandwich, I just left.......without my sandwich. This place operates extremely slow and is not worth my time. read more

I wandered into this picturesque cafe completely unprepared to pit my fateful lack of decision making ability against such a wide array of amazing choices. After 10 awkward minutes of my standing there in a near comatose state of, "Ummmm, ummmmm, ummmm," I finally landed on a soy latte, and the Goddess panini with carrot ginger soup. Carrot ginger. Who knew? The panini was amazing. It came with cucumber, black olives, feta cheese, spinach and avocado, along with some unexpected bonuses on the side: fresh tropical fruit and a tiny serving of ice cream. The coffee was excellent. They also offer seriously stellar homemade gelato and and sorbet. (I had lemon basil, and blood orange.) The ambiance of the cafe was friendly and creative. Hope to find myself randomly wandering through Mukwanago again soon, and hope when I do I can both pronounce Mukwanago and return to Espresso Love Coffee. read more

I've been to Espresso Love many times. The coffee consistently is excellent and the shop always is clean. I appreciate having a great cup of coffee (or tea) in a shop that works hard to maintain service and cleanliness. The prices are reasonable, too. There are coffee specials that change monthly--and don't be afraid to ask for the skinny version! The staff are well-trained and they act like they care about the drinks they serve. (And they'll even create something "off menu" if you ask.) Bakery items change on a regular basis and options include gluten-free. The gelato is outstanding. And, again, the serving containers are spotlessly clean. I haven't tried the sandwiches, but that's just another reason to go back. Sometimes there is a short wait on the coffee, but that's because it's NOT a fast-food place and they take their time to make a great cup. Parking sometimes is tight in the lot behind the building, but there is street parking available if it's a busy morning. There's Wi-Fi and a cute fireplace that's cozy in the winter. It's a great place to stop after Christmas shopping or a hike in the Kettle Moraine. I will be back! :-) read more

I love this place! They know how to make a latte, first of all. The staff is so nice, so friendly. You really feel welcome there. They have lots of yummy treats, as well as different kinds of coffee beverages. Space is limited, but it's very elegantly decorated and comfortable. Most tables on the periphery have an electrical outlet, and they do provide cards free internet access, good for one hour. Saturday nights they have entertainment, but I'd check there first, as that may change over time. Very very nice coffee shop run by professionals. Coffee, overall, is hands down better than Starbucks any day. And you can buy it, have it ground there, too, which I've done many times. Mmmm.. decadence. read more

Cute place. Coffee has always been good. However stick with the baked goods, muffins, etc... anything off the grill menu has been awful. The quiche (I've tried it twice, thinking it couldn't be THAT bad again... it was) is basically a slab of thick hardened cheese over soggy crust. Awful. But the atmosphere and coffee are very good. The hours here are terrible, don't expect to be able to go after dinner for some coffee or a small meeting place, because they close at 6. And they used to have cute finger puppets out for small kids if you had one with you waiting for your coffee order and they got rid of those. The place needs lots of help but it's still the only decent independent place to go for coffee. And the coffee is pretty good. The only other option in the area, is a McCafe at the golden arches. read more
