Bryant was great. He pointed out a few things and got me a few parts for my machine. He also got me some coffee beans. The catch was he said he isnt going to charge me for anything as I am not a commercial customer, and the part is used, while other part was some plastic tubing(PTFE) , and he offered the beans to try... I asked if I can pay anything for this, and then charged me 100$. LOL I don't know what in the world flipped his switch...But, I went from getting a used part a tube and a bag of coffee from say , 30-40$ to $100. Then a second time, you did look over my machine, and he changed the fuse and he did not charge me. So...I take it I am even with him. I guess its not so easy to price for individual jobs vs his service contracts...so. I do recommend him. they do know their machines, and you should try his coffee beans! read more

When my Mahlkonig grinder suddenly started spewing grinds over my counter after 2-1/2 years, I called a parts supplier I trust for a recommendation, and they sent me to Espresso Primo. They picked up my grinder and returned it a week later, thoroughly cleaned and perfectly calibrated. I didn't have to adjust a thing when I pulled my first shot. And their fee was more than fair. I called up and was greeted by an attentive, friendly, personable man who was happy to help with my Breville Barrista express. On Tuesday Took it to their location to where I was greeted with warmth and a tasty complementary espresso whilst we discussed the machine on the way out I was offered some complimentary ground beans for my French press to get me through until my baby was back on her feet. Friday of the same week my machine was ready for pick up fully restored and in PERFECT condition for an extremely fair price. I will recommend this to literally everyone and anyone having machine problems. As I was leaving I was given ANOTHER complementary sample of their espresso beans which I'm currently enjoying. 10/10 in all aspects but more importantly there was a level of personability that made it a cut above most places such as this. I have used these guys for espresso machine cleaning and repairs. They always do a fine job. There are usually pretty busy and it takes time to get stuff fixed and returned but it's better than buying a new machine every time you have a problem. They seem to have some strange hours so call first. Overall a very good company. Prices are very reasonable. read more

Very good first time experience with this shop. Our older Alex Duetto had multiple issues -- leaks, shorts, bad heating element, bad electronics and more. It was a death's door. The Owner Ridha greeted us warmly and was gracious and understanding when we dropped off our machine with a long list of ailments. We never felt rushed. He even gave us a machine to use at home while he worked to repair ours. And a gift of great espresso beans, roasted in house. After delivery, when a new issue arose he picked up our machine within hours, fixed the issue, bench tested it, and redelivered the machine in perfect working order. He even polished the case. I looked on Yelp where to fix my Classic Gaggia - a relatively inexpensive but very good espresso machine. After some amazing reviews about how fixes would cost 50-100 bucks. Although separated by a long drive by naughty 405, because of the reviews I drove it all the way and after a very nice conversation with a technician I left my machine. It took 5 days just to give me an estimate and when it came it was $165. The only part they replaced was the gasket, which costs less than 2 bucks. Indeed - they had to clean filter - electro valve and a bunch of things - so, pretty much I paid $163 in labor on something that is worth less than $400 brand spanking new. Machine is working great? Yes it is, but it costed an arm and a leg... (maybe half elbow as well...) Are they good? Yes. But VEEEERY pricey... read more

I had my Starbucks Barista espresso maker repaired here. They are located in a little industrial park near La Cienega and National. The front entrance is gated up, you have to enter through the back parking lot. Their hours are a little challenging - 9 to 2. They are very friendly folks. They fixed the valve on my machine and it is now working as good as new. I was charged $95 for this repair, so don't necessarily expect under $50 as some have quoted here. The price may vary if you call ahead for an estimate - I just dropped in, because it was hard to get anyone on the phone. Also, I dropped it off on a Monday, and was told it would be ready Friday. After repeated calls to check in, it was finally ready the following Friday, a week later. They are a small operation, so I expect the repair time may vary depending on how busy they are. But as we all know, being without your espresso maker for a week can get expensive! Despite these minor quibbles I would recommend Espresso Primo. They do quality work, and it's much better to repair your machine than buy a whole new one. read more

If you have a La Spaziale machine, stay away. Far away. I sent in my machine for a general servicing / adjustment / tune up and minor repair, waited 2 weeks, got it back and nothing had been done except for the minor repair of a small part. Not only that, it was left in a dangerous condition (loose steam fitting) which I had to fix myself. Now here I am writing this review many months later, because, my group boiler has never worked right (improper temp setting, not accurate) and that was one of the things they were supposed to check / fix. What I discovered is the issue was due to scale buildup, probe and group boiler needed cleaning... and this was one of the *main reaons* I sent it to them, to clean both the boilers and check / adjust temps!! So it seems that whichever yahoo "worked" on my machine, did not do jack. But they still tried to charge me several hundred dollars. read more

Espresso Primo fixed my little Lello 1375 Ariete. I've used this machine nearly everyday for the last 2 years and would have bought a new one if I had to, but Espresso Primo fixed my machine better than new! I just picked it up and pulled a shot and the machine is quieter than it used to be and made a beautiful shot of espresso. Quick turnaround and very reasonable prices. For the past 5 years, my Francis Francis! espresso machine has been faithfully making delicious morning brew for my wife and I. This past weekend, I began my morning ritual, and although the pump would run, no coffee would appear. I called Sur La Table, where I purchased the machine, but they had no helpful suggestions. I called Illy coffee who referred me to a shop in woodland hills and prepared me for a hefty repair bill. A chance internet search led me to Espresso Primo, a small coffee roaster and espresso machine repair shop only 10 minutes away. I dropped off my machine Monday afternoon, Ridha had me back up and brewing (some of his fresh roasted coffe) Tuesday evening for a third of what I was expecting to pay to the woodland hills shop. I stumbled upon this place when doing a last ditch search for the right replacement part for our Francis Francis X1. After first calling the parts department for Illy and finding they wanted $85 for the replacement tube and some compression fittings, I decided that there had to be a better way. The official repair shop wanted $125 just to look at it and that didn't include the shipping to get it there. I searched several times online, read several websites and comment blogs to no avail. Finally, the day before I promised my wife I would send it to the shop for repair, during one last internet search I came upon Espresso Primo- basically right in our back yard. I drove over an hour later, talked to Ridha, the owner of the shop, and within 10 minutes, I was walking out with the correct replacment parts, free of charge (albeit from an old machine- but in as good shape as any other parts on our machine). Ridha was friendly and welcoming and didn't hesitate at all to help with my relatively minor problem (they typically repair larger, cafe-style machines, though they do small home-style units as well). I just wish I had found his shop sooner! read more
