The one spot on side of face was referred to UNC derm at Chapel Hill. I've only seen the PA's but they've seemed to be well trained and skilled. Unfortunately the two PAs we've seen have left so the verdict is out on the replacements until we get some more experience with them. Before moving here I had the same derm for 10 yrs and I normally saw the doc herself. Her focus was derm health. This practice seems more focused on cosmetic dermatology. So I'll probably be trying to get back into Duke if they can shorten up the wait time.

Update: The office manager called and said the MA could've "forgotten" or "not notice" her mask was below her nose and that they work 12 hr shifts. Maybe that's a flaw with staffing/ medical system if you are overworking your employee. After 2 years of a pandemic and rise in omicron cases, healthcare workers should set the standard. I am well aware of the long hours they work, but this is the bare minimum (proper mask wearing) I'm asking for because LIVES are at stake. Rather than giving banal excuses for reckless behavior, perhaps be betrer at taking accountability.

When I attempted to schedule my next yearly in January, I was told I was not eligible to see the doctor because he's not accepting new patients and because I saw the new nurse practitioner. Despite explaining the situation, the person on the phone told me that I can go somewhere else if I didn't like it. I didn't like it and now go somewhere else.

Mistakes happen but the dry apology and not taking the responsibility for your mistake is what gets me. I service clients all the time and if they are unhappy or a mistake is made I always except responsibility sometimes even if I was correct. It is my responsibility to make sure all clients are happy and if they are not I do my best to accommodate....I'm floored at the response and energy given by Alexis and I will never refer any of my facial clients to this facility for medical treatments.
