Cannot recommend after speaking with the manager, Jen. I called on 4/23/2026 with two questions. The woman who answered (Alyssa, or something close to that) was unable to answer both questions. Not a big deal. I figured I'd call back the following day and speak with the manager, Jen, as it wasn't anything urgent. I called first thing in the morning and Jen answered. Question number one was about the waitlist. I submitted a request to be put on a waitlist through their website on 4/23/2026 for a two-hour massage on 4/25/2026 but, apparently, it wasn't showing up on their end (maybe an issue with their website?). When she was about to add me to the waitlist, she told me they had a 90-minute opening. I went ahead and accepted that. On to issue number two regarding the Refer a Friend offering on their website. This is where the unprofessionalism and disrespectfulness began. I have never been to Essentials, so my wife was going to refer me to take advantage of their offering (it's only a $5 credit to each of us). Unfortunately, their website refused to allow her to login (another reason to question whether there's an issue with their website - you'll understand more in a minute). I began trying to ask Jen if she was aware of any issues with their website sending password resets to Gmail accounts. However, as I was saying "are you aware of any issues..." she immediately cut me off, seemingly made an assumption of what I was about to ask, and began telling me they weren't having any website issues. Once she finished speaking, I explained I wasn't asking if their website was having issues, that I was actually trying to ask if she was aware of any issues with password resets going specifically to Gmail accounts (maybe it's a Google thing - in which case we could offer to use a different email provider to complete the process). She said she wasn't aware of any issues like that. Then, I began telling her I believe my wife had a profile for their website but we weren't able to login to it and the password reset requests were not coming to my wife's email (nor were they showing up in the spam folder - here's where I'm really beginning to question issues with their website). Once again, as soon as the word "wife" came out of my mouth, she was quick to cut me off and make an assumption, again. She began telling me that my wife wouldn't be able to refer me since she had never been there before. My wife had been there before. I believe she may have been confused because of the profile issue on their website (maybe thinking my wife was trying to create a profile as a first-time customer), which is ok. Some confusion like that isn't a big deal. What's not ok is the constant assumptions and cutting people off. I think somewhere in there she cut me off one more time, too. After she cut me off the last time, I let her finish talking and asked her to cancel my appointment for the following day, that she'd cut me off numerous times and that I'd pass on their service. She had the audacity to respond by saying she wouldn't want my service if I was going to talk to her like that anyway. I had to check my calendar to see if it was still 4/1 because that was hilarious. I don't know if it was coffee or what (it was about 9:15 AM), but she just needed to slow down, take a breath, and let the customer finish speaking. It would've made the conversation go so much smoother and she wouldn't have come off so rude and disrespectful. read more

I had the absolute pleasure 4 years ago as a snow bird to discover Essentials Day Spa in Westchase. I have since then moved to the area full time and i cannot say enough about this say spa. Today i had another amazing facial ( anti-aging with dermaplane) from Lauren. Over the years I've had several different kinds of facials just to try out new ones as well as some more intensive skin care treatments . Lauren does a fabulous job all of the staff are wonderfully professional and you simply cannot be the price. Have been going here a number of times. Nice staff, pleasant enough waiting room, therapy rooms are nice, and price is reasonable. This last time, I was somewhat disappointed in that I booked with a specific therapist, but was provided another without explanation I get it, people get sick, don't come to work, etc., but it would have been nice to be told that was the case and that someone else would be taking over. Still a decent spot for an economical massage. Some therapists are just better than others. read more

I have been coming here for years. The past couple visits I have asked for a 90minute massage but have been shorted time each time. If my massage starts at 4pm and with the total of 10 minutes( 5minutes to undress and 5minutes to re-dress) that is 80 minutes hands on. So the EARLIEST I should be leaving the room is 5:30pm! I understand 80 minutes hands on , but if I leave the room at 5:20pm that means I only got 70 minutes hands on and the 10 minutes to undress and redress. When asking the receptionist she just didn't understand simple math. I do NOT recommend coming here they will SHORT YOU TIME and make you pay the SAME PRICE!!! I hope management sees this and discusses it with their staff. They have now lost a re-occurring client !!! read more

I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but we were pretty disappointed with our couples massage we had over the weekend. The reviews we read before going looked amazing so we were really excited! We booked a 60 minute massage and they took us back a little bit late, which was no big deal, but then they didn't even keep us for the full hour we paid for. Another thing is with the relaxation room and free wine, I was under the impression we needed to request this once we were done with our massages. Come to find out, it needed to be requested prior to your appointment. I really wish someone would have mentioned this while I was booking by phone. After our massages were done, I wish I would have planned elsewhere to start my husband's birthday celebration. We both agreed the massages we received were very mediocre from the many we have had in the past. read more

My husband works super hard and I wanted to treat us to something nice. We had a couples massage about three years ago while on a cruise. So, it was time for us to have some serious relaxation time! I found this establishment via Groupon and decided to try them out because of their positive reviews. It's not particularly close to our home, but I made an appointment for 6pm. We did hit the horrible work traffic, and made it just in time for our appointment. We we quickly and warmly greeted by the receptionist, Tatiana. She told us who our massage therapists were and gave us some paperwork to fill out. The lobby and entire building was super clean and smelled amazing! Lol, I have a thing about places being clean and smelling good :) We didn't have to wait long, before we were greeted by Dennis (for me) and Keesha (for my husband). They instantly made us comfortable. The room was dimly lit, had some amazing aromas flowing in the air, and the tables were actually heated! Omg, those tables felt fantastic...I really need a heated bad now! They asked each of us what sent we wanted (eucalyptus for me/peppermint for my husband), if we wanted the hot stones (yes for me/no for him), foot scrub (yes for me/no for him), and so forth. They took their time on us and I felt like they utilized every moment of the time we had with them. We were to have an hour massage (5-ish minutes were used by us for bathroom and changing). Dennis was gentle, but firm when he needed to be. I believe my husband expressed something similar about Keesha. The hot stones and the foot rub were my favorites! I seriously found it difficult to get off the table. I had to muster up the energy to drive that 30 minutes home. Overall, this was a much needed, exceptionally relaxing experience! There are closer spas to our home, but I think we'll come back here and request Dennis and Keesha. They're certain worth traffic and such for such a great experience! read more

I've been coming here for over a year now. I give Essentials of Westchase 3 stars for these reasons. Starting with the good: the price is excellent for the quality of treatment that you receive. If I were rating on that alone, I would give 5 stars. But for the not-so-good: I have been here many times, and I don't think I've ever received a full 50 minute massage. Normally I am greeted exactly on the hour, I am left a few minutes to undress, and then the massage usually starts 5 to 10 minutes past the hour. But one thing is for certain- it always ends at 50 minutes past the hour. So what is advertised as a 1 hour massage, while explained to be 50 minutes to allow consultation and dressing, always ends up between 35 and 40 minutes. I will continue to come here because I think for the price and quality, 40 minutes is still a great deal. But don't expect 60, or even 50 minutes. I would recommend that the business revises how it advertises for treatment length because simply put, it is false advertising. read more
