In my original review, I swore I would avoid his sales. And I did, until today. I went to a sale on Sunday, thinking if the piece is still there I will get it. It was gone, but I was there and there were Christmas decos galore. The prices are high as always. No 50% off Sundays "Because we are having two more sales here in January". People were leaving empty handed. I picked up 3 ties from a box outside, they were damp and wrinkled. I was going to cut them up for art. I offered $2 a tie, they wanted $5. I bought some other toys. They went down to $3 a tie, I passed. They will literally let the ties go damp and moldy until January for at total of $3? I passed out of principal. People at the sale were talking. It is a few days before Christmas, and people were leaving gifts (two sheds with toys) and masses of Christmas decorations because they will not negotiate. I hope future clients read this and know why the house is still full on the last day. For everyone else, happy hunting! I attended an estate sale on Sunday by this company, which was advertised as half-off day. Even with the discount, prices were still extremely high compared to typical estate sales. Many items were priced more like an antique store than a liquidation sale, and despite it being the final day, the house, backyard and sheds were still completely full. I was interested in a small Christmas ornament that was marked $85 (so about $42 with the discount). Wow! When I asked if the price was flexible, the employee said she could do $40 and then questioned whether I "knew anything about the brand," which came across as dismissive. I understand businesses need to make money, but estate sales are usually meant to move items especially on the last day! The experience was disappointing. As much as I love going to estate sales, I wont be returning to another estate sale hosted by this company. read more

Highly, highly disappointed in the astronomically high prices on every item I looked at. The place was bulging at the seams with goods and I saw nothing move and heard several negative comments by customers regarding the enormous prices. It's a total disservice in my opinion to attempt to price gouge customers because you are supposed to be doing a service for the family to recoup some money and clear out the house of a deceased loved one. They'll take your treasures you've found up front and hold onto them so you can keep shopping hands free. They're always fun to go to! Will not go to his Estate Sale again. The owner is rude, hot tempered and will not make reasonable deals. He said he would hang on to the items rather than sell them. All his effort put into organizing the sales and the customers make the time, the trip to arrive and want to buy, and he wastes everyone's time. Unnecessarily rude and overemotional. This is the second [and last] time I have gone to an Estate Sale Guy sale. I knew from the first that he prices very high-and that's fine. This sale was at a quilters home-I am a quilter. It was really close to my home, so I decided to check it out. There was no price list for fabric-I asked one of the ladies there and she said everything was between $2-$20, and if I made a pile they'd make a deal.I spent an hour picking through various piles of fabric- a lot of it was just scraps. Almost all of the pieces of yardage had sections cut out, because she was a fussy cutter-I am too. I had about a third of an Ikea bag full, and I was going to offer them $100 for the bunch-but Jordan immediately started pulling everything out and saying "I know exactly what this is" and making piles. To be clear-it's all cut up pieces of old quilting cotton, which runs $14 a yard brand new in the store. I had around 12 yards total in my bag. He points to a little pile of the smallest scraps-none of the piece in this pile were even fat quarter sized- and says "$2 each for these". Then he pointed at the half yard-ish pile and said "these are $3 each", and the yardage pile "These are $5 each". The prices for the second and third pile were fair, but the first-bit pricey. I picked up a scrap from the top that was literally 8" by 6" and said "You really want $2 for this?" [I figured he'd ask $10 for that whole little pile-nope] He EXPLODED. He raised his voice and started saying that I wouldn't argue with someone at a quilt store if they asked $2 for something, and he knows what he has, and he's had ladies in all day long, the lady in front of me just spent $162 and she was happy to do so. [she purchased 2 completed quilts btw, not scraps of cut up fabric]. There was no need to raise his voice and make a scene and try to talk down to me like I am cheap and awful over something so insignificant as a literal scrap of fabric that is smaller than a piece of writing paper. I told him I wouldn't be buying anything and walked out. I understand people getting emotionally attached to their OWN items and being offended when someone tries to bargain with them at a estate sale or questions their prices. I think it's silly, but it's human nature. I do not understand someone working as a reseller getting emotionally attached to someone else's used things and throwing a temper tantrum when someone questions them. Lucky for him he lost his cool with someone who isn't easily upset. If he acted like that with someone who gets anxious or hates confrontation, it would have been really terrible. He is not running a "store"- he is running a reselling business. Bargaining is part of the profession. There are plenty of ways to shut down negotiating with kindness and respect-but he chose to be angry and rude. I didn't deserve that, and he lost a good customer. read more

I felt like the items at the sale I visited were organized and the staff was available to assist. The pricing, however, was crazy; even on the last day of the sale the prices were coming in at retail or even a bit higher. I'm not sure that much sold since the house was still very full. I frequent estate sales and this was by far the worst experience. To the people who claim his pricing is fair, I disagree. I saw a scarf hanger from IKEA at his sale, which was priced more than IKEA was charging retail. He had signs up saying he'd haggle IF you bought more than $40. Which I can respect, but I saw a woman spend over $40, ask him to haggle and he said "No, you got a good price." First of all, don't put up a sign stating your policy and then refuse to honor it. Secondly, learn the vibe of estate sales before you host one. This guy is either full of himself or completely unaware. I overheard another group of shoppers decide not to even buy anything because he was so overpriced and then wouldn't even haggle if you met the $40 limit. Things weren't priced. Which isn't a big deal if you feel you can trust the salesperson in charge of estate sale. But with ESG you can't trust him so it's not even worth asking. Then instead of talking to any of the customers, he just trailed this group from SoCal. He peppered them with questions about the ocean. Such a rude person. I made an offer on a relatively small item, Jordan came back with another price, I came back with another and then he raised the price and said he didn't want to work with me! It's business & negotiating and no need to be so unprofessional. I had intended to purchase three other large ticket items there and he missed out on those sales. I've dealt with a fair number of Estate Sale people and have never come across one as rude and unprofessional as Jordan. Over the years, I've avoided these estate sales. They are overpriced, do not negotiate (which is the whole fun part of estates), and the owner is rude and makes you feel like you don't matter at all. I popped into one of his estates a few weeks ago and saw that it was the same as it has been in previous years. This week, my aunt purchased something she saw in his advertisement photos with assurances about its condition. The price was what you would expect full retail on an item in good, usable condition. Upon arriving, the staff loaded the item into her car with little inspection. She has since found that the condition is not good, and she will have to incur further cost in repair and restoration. She contacted Jordan who refused to negotiate a lower price or accept it back for a return of her money. When she mentioned that he should treat his customers better, he told her to "enjoy her bad Ju-Ju". What the hell??? I'm a Sacramento native and have supported the estate sales and the companies who are trusted to do them in this region for over 15 years. This person does not represent most of the people who serve our community, the people in it, and should not be allowed to represent your loved ones in real estate or in estate liquidation. Consider another company. If for no other reason than that the wonderful memories of your families, and the things that were valued parts of their lives deserve a much better representative than the estate guy. read more

You join the fairly long list of estate sale. Companies said are way overpriced, but there are not and consistently have nice high end sales. On the positive side, staff was very friendly. We attend a lot of estate sales and this was by far the worst interaction with a company/sales person. Asked how much an item was that had no tag. He stated it sold. I asked how much it went for. He replied "I don't disclose that information after it's been sold." I thought it was a joke, but then he then turned around and walked away. We were in shock and didn't feel welcomed there, so we left. Also, prices seemed to be a bit high and have heard from others that he wont negoiate prices unless you leave 5 star reviews before purchase. Again you're likely at a East Sacramento or now Elk Grove fancy neighborhood estate sale, not a garage or yard sale. Act like it. I am not sure how this man makes his living in the estate sale business - I can only assume there is some other way he makes money from the items since he was clearly not interested in helping the owners sell. I went to one of his sales today and he was extremely unhelpful and rather rude. He posted a very snarky and poorly written sign at the entrance of the house which I'll try to attach. It was terribly unwelcoming. People throughout the sale were grumbling at his unwillingness to bargain, and the pricing was beyond ridiculous. Old items with very little value that would go for a few dollars or even cents at a yard sale had price tags of $15. After a while I realized that there was no point to inquire further as to prices. I feel terrible for the family who choose this man for their agent. Instead of helping them get rid of items and help them move on, he had some weird desire to micromanage everything with an air of superiority. His estate sale sign insinuated that if people wanted Denio's or Dollar Store prices, they should go to one of those places and get terrible service.
