The driver arrived 17 minutes before our requested time, called me because I asked for them to call when they arrive, and drove quickly and efficiently. However, the ride ended up being $77 from Tarzana, right off the highway. I asked about the flat rate and he said it was only for downtown. Weird because downtown is nearly the same time away driving-wise. Although convenient, I checked Uber prices and availability at the time the cab took us, and they were cheaper ($46)and there were drivers around our location. I would like to support other taxi services besides the large rideshare companies but I can't be paying $30 more. Would probably not take them again even though we rarely would require the service.

At 8:09 PM the taxi did not arrive, so I called and continued to call three more times until 8:25 PM, during which time they said the driver was on the way and would arrive in 5-10 minutes. At 8:30 PM we had to give up waiting and drive our car to LAX so we did not miss our flight. I even asked him if he was available to pick us up earlier (you know anxiety with traffics/ traveling with a toddler) and he replied right away. It was a smooth easy drive. We paid using Venmo since their credit card system was down. All in all Matt was professional, prompt, easy to work with. I would definitely request to have him drive us again if available. The owner is particularly kind and thoughtful when he picks up my 88 year old parents which I genuinely appreciate. The cars are clean, new and always have bottled water. I removed my jacket, as I was becoming queasy from the heat, road noises and the banging of my luggage as it rickshawed across the hatchback compartment above the trunk of the cab. By the time we arrived at LAX, I suspected the sheet was covering stains from a previous victim of this aggressively driven hotbox. But wait! There's More! I was told by multiple people at the hotel that the fare was a flat-rate of $52. When we got to LAX, the POS screen flashed a fare of $60+. The driver asked if I had cash, otherwise the fair was $60+, "but it was okay to not leave a tip". BUT WAIT! There's more . The POS machine failed to work, so driver persistently asked if I had cash. I gave him a $100 bill and he could not make change! Back to Square 1; he fumbled around and got the machine to work, but it did not provide a receipt. The driver provided an old-fashion business card receipt that I could complete by hand. I was overjoyed to enter the air conditioned confines of the airport.
