The Spice Joint has expanded from a small cafe into a spacious restaurant! This family owned restaurant is beautifully and uniquely decorated. The service is quick and makes you feel like you are part of the family. The food is amazing!!!

Blueberry and brie grilled cheese - the perfect sweet and mildly savory combo. Crispy to a perfection. Out of crab meat grilled cheese :( Jerk chicken- they do not skimp on the seasoning, on the spicier side . Great for spicy lovers like me! Decent lattes. Great service. Bottom line: so unexpectedly tasty!

Excellent!! Flavors!! Ambiance!! Transport yourself to the islands when you come here, the music and decor is very Jamaican. Delicious flavored soda imported from Jamaica, sandwiches, fries and soup. The service was great even though they were pretty busy, we got in right before he had to turn away some customers due to being full. I asked for spicy on my turkey blt and the peppers they added were flavorful AND hot. Oh my goodness. So dang good. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for flavor, taste and something different for the mountains. Eat here for goodness sake, don't waste your time looking any further. Be patient, the food is worth the wait if they are busy. Plus, I saw him making drinks at the bar too, those looked so good! Enjoy.

Very surprised to get good Jamaican food in Canada but it happened! First off the atmosphere is casual and has a fun vibe. We were seated right away and the service was really fast, great place for a quick lunch. Had the jerk chicken sandwich and the jerk pork grilled cheese, both with curry soup. We loved both of the dishes, chicken really tasted like authentic jerk chicken. The price was a little high for lunch but everything was really tasty.

I was surprised to find Jamaican cuisine at Jasper and it did not disappoint. I came here twice for lunch and dinner during my stay at Jasper. Their sandwiches were great especially the sourdough bread is crisp with the melting cheese combo which was amazing. I tried their fireball sandwich, crabmeat grilled cheese, jerk chicken grilled cheese, and bad boy grilled cheese with pulled pork. The jerk chicken and bad boy definitely have some heat to it. All the sandwiches come with choices of soup, salad, coleslaw or fries (additional one dollar). I got soup of the day both times with Thai Chicken and Potato Bacon which both of them were delicious. I wish they served them in larger bowls. I also tried their joint fries which were fried perfectly and I love the pesto maple aioli. The next meal we got spinach and artichoke dip which they served it hot and fresh. It was delicious and the best I've ever had. I tried their Ting and tropical juice of pineapple guava which were extremely refreshing with the meals. In addition, they are pet friendly with outdoor seating! Highly recommend if you ever go to Jasper!

The Spice Joint is one of the biggest food highlights of my recent visit to Jasper. It's kind of hidden on a side street so we almost missed it when we were looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. For those that prefer not to dine-in right now, they have a small patio and there is lots of public seating nearby. They also let our dog join us and brought out fresh water for her. I decided on the blueberry grilled cheese that I knew was either going to be terrible or amazing and thankfully it was the latter. This was probably one of the best grilled cheeses I've ever had. The sweet blueberry is balanced out by the spicier jerk sauce. I wish I could recreate this at home but I'll have to wait until my next visit! They have a few other vegetarian options including an incredible veggie Jamaican patty. I highly recommend the Spice Joint for anyone looking for a meal that is quick, unique and delicious.

The number of Yelp reviews is heavily lacking and sure, Google and TripAdvisor ratings are 4.9 and 5 respectively (more reviews but still under 100 on each site). IMO, reviewers on Yelp reflect the most accurate rating, while I find TripAdvisor always seems to be rated well even if it's a 3 star place on Yelp. Anyways, my point is, this place is legit!!! Their jerk chicken sandwich could not be more perfect. Level of spice, bread quality and toastiness, and that coleslaw just pulls it all together. Eat this in. Don't take it to go or you will not get the full experience. Oh and the beef patties. My 6 year old loves the mild and we loved the spicy. They are sooooo good! AND the cranberry orange muffin is sooooo good! The flat whites were good too! These owners know how to cook/bake/make coffee and they are super nice as well. Life brought them to Jasper on diff paths and Jasper is lucky they decided to stick around! Sometimes, I rate places based on the area as well. There is no other Jamaican place in town to compare against but this place would get 5 stars from me no matter where it was in the world, even in the heart of Toronto where there is much more competition! When we come back to Jasper, we plan to eat here every day. They are only open until 6pm despite what it says everywhere online. Also, their sign out front says "open daily" but they were closed on the Wednesday we were in town.

Really delicious! I was happy to find such quality jerk chicken and pork in jasper! The right amount of spicy, quality ingredients, tasted fresh and delicious. I would go back here any time I came to jasper. Picture is of the jerk chicken grilled cheese and bbq jerk pork grilled cheese. Paired very well with the variety of Jamaican sodas!

The Spice Joint is a must visit in Jasper. We loved the food and atmosphere so much we ate dinner here two nights in a row. Easily some of the best food we had during our 10-day trip to Jasper & Banff. They have options both for meat eaters and vegetarians, some spicy options and some not spicy options. Great cocktails as well and a very nice owner. We hope to be back again!
I had the chicken sando and the sandwich is righteous. Just enough batter and perfectly fried. Spiced enough to cause a little heat and flavor was outstanding. I love this sandwich. The boss got the Bad Boy (pulled pork) and I took a bite of that. Another winner This joint knows how to make their sandwiches taste great. Service was friendly and we ate outside of n a perfect day read more
I came here after seeing their reviews. This place did not disappoint at all. I got their mortadella sandwich, and it was amazing. The cook did his education in Europe and combined his education experience with his home culture of Jamaican food, bringing a sandwich that I would happily order again. Their Jamaican patties were also delicious and to top it off, I had my first Ting. It was a perfect meal at such an affordable price. They have rebranded to Estio Jasper, which was a bit confusing at first, but the food quality and service were excellent. If I stayed longer, I would have definitely come back. There was plenty of seating outside, and with the good weather, it made for the perfect lunch spot. read more

Wonderful accidental discovery. The grill cheese sandwiches were delicious, the ice cream selection was not huge, but plenty of good options. The manager/staff were so fantastic! Friendly and inviting. Went back for a second round before leaving town! read more

The restaurant believes throwing green onion and micro greens onto a dish makes it exquisite . Mint on the dessert. The food is no better than an Outback Steakhouse. Look at the photos if you don't believe me read more

Delicious, rich, creamy ice cream--the Espresso Flake is truly exceptional! Plus, a friendly owner who provides service with a smile.

Visited in October, just before the turn of the seasons.. the mountains were just kissed with snow and the crowds are thinning out after Thanksgiving. We saw this place while wandering around the Town Square and knew we had to try it. I've only had Jamaican food a few times but I was pleasantly surprised to see a modern twist on classic dishes. We ordered: - Spicy Beef Patties (These are SO incredible, the pastry is so flaky and the filling is the right amount of spice that it leaves you wanting more after your first bite) - Jerk Chicken Caesar Wrap (This was an incredible way to blend two cultures. the Chicken was perfectly cooked - the pieces were tender and well seasoned. The spice of the chicken was complemented with the creamy Caesar dressing) - Jerk Chicken Grilled Cheese (this was a delight as I would have never guessed to add Jerk Chicken into a grilled cheese. The Jerk aioli really made this dish pop! There is a generous portion of chicken that melts in your mouth with the gooey cheese.. its hard to put this sandwich down!) The restaurant created a very warm and welcoming ambiance with its decor and reggae dub music playing in the background. The owner is exceptional and truly cares about the quality of his ingredients. I will be recommending this restaurant to EVERYONE who comes to Jasper. Please support this business, you will not be disappointed in the quality of service or food. read more

This nice place is located right off the main street in Jasper. They have a good outdoor seating area with umbrellas for shade. The service was very efficient and friendly. I had the soup of the day which was clam chowder. It had just a little kick and was full of clams and potatoes. My wife had the chicken jerk warp. It was full of fresh romaine lettuce and a generous amount of chicken. The drink selection was good with several beers and ice tea options. read more

Honestly this place is amazing. We stopped by here for a spot of lunch and ordered the jerk chicken sandwich. The owner was running the front and was extremely nice and polite. The food took a bit to arrive but it was definitely worth the wait. The chicken was tender, juicy, and extremely spicy (which I loved), and the coleslaw balanced out the flavours. It was also my first time having Jamaican food and oh man have I been missing out. Will definitely be back when I'm in Jasper, and I urge you to give this place a try because you won't regret it! PS. The patties are also out of this world! read more

I'm surprised that this place has so few reviews! We stopped by for an early lunch and to grab some food to go for our hike. We had the Jamaican beef patties and the jerk chicken sandwich. This place really hit the spot during our trip! I never thought i could get good quality jerk chicken in the middle of Banff, but there I was. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the sauce/slaw was delicious. Price was very reasonable, and we ended up going two days in a row to get some sandwiches to eat on our hike up to Lake Agnes - really hit the spot after all the uphill trekking! The workers were also extremely friendly and hospitable - we spent 5 minutes just chatting about the different types of coffee they had there. Overall, highly recommended for a quick, reasonable priced and satisfying meal!! read more

We are from Toronto & I had the spicy beef patties & jerk chicken sandwich while my partner had the jerk chicken grilled cheese. Everything we tried was delicious! Especially with the hot sauce they carry. Each dish had a a good balance of spice & flavor. The owners are very friendly & the place was clean. There isn't a lot of seating inside, but we had no issue getting a table when we visited. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Stopped by this restaurant because I heard it was good and I was very impressed. The jerk chicken sandwich was absolutely fantastic!! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and served on fresh homemade bread that was soft yet toasty and topped with coleslaw. They offer a hot sauce for those who like heat which was very good. The sandwich was quite big also. While I waited I tried the beef patties and they were also fantastic and fresh. They were soft and crispy in the right places and the taste was bang on!! The employee was also very friendly and chatty while I waited which was nice as I was spending the afternoon alone. Do yourself and check this place out!! read more

We ordered the chicken sandwich and pulled pork grilled cheese - both were fantastic, great value as well. Place is stingy on water and the bathroom though, they only sell bottled water and when I went to use the bathroom the server (who had just served me outside) asked if I had eaten there... other than that, he did a great job but yea think the experience would be a lot better if they just gave you a glass of water and created a friendly environment. read more

Went to some other places in the busy part of the season and went to Earls and they had a big wait so found this place walking around. Glad we did. It is a quaint little place not a big menu but very good spicy Carribbean food. The grilled crab meat sandwich is excellent and they Jerk Chicken sandwich is also very good. I thought they were spicy enough for me maybe too hot for some especially if you don't do curry, but if you don't then don't come to a Carribbean food place. Bob Marley playing is nice too. read more
