The first time I went here I didnt have any issues (2020) and the doctor I saw was kind. Today ( fall 2021) I called and was able to get a last minute appointment for 2:50pm. So naturally I put it in my calendar and started searching for a babysitter. Well a few hours later I got a confirmation appointment text stating the appointment was at 3:20pm.. well thats a 30 minute difference and since I had a sitter coming to watch my kid I needed to know the time for sure. I contacted the office through their website and was sent a text saying someone would contact me shortly. About ten minutes later I received another text saying my appointment was at 3:40pm. Ok thats a 50 minute difference.. I then tried calling the office 3 times and they did not pick up. Thinking my appointment got pushed (because that Has happened to me in the past) I showed up 30 mins early at 3:10pm. Well guess what? The lady at the front desk said "it looks like your late and I dont know that the doctor can see you today now." i said "what do you mean? I have texts showing that I got different times for the appointment AND I tried contacting you guys!" She said "yes unfortunately our system has a glitch and always sends out a later time to patients" ok so do you think Maybe that should be disclosed when making an appointment?? I said "look I got a sitter for this is there any way they can see me??" And she said " let me see if they can". Then 5 minutes later the Other secretary calls me up and reiterates what the first secretary I spoke to already said. Neither one went in the back and talked to the doctors. She says the doctor is swamped and cant see me. I said Look I have proof. I emailed you guys way ahead of time and asked about the time. She looks me up and finds my email from 1:14pm and reads it to me.. it said "I was told my appointment was at 2:50 but now I received a message that its at 3:20. Thats a bit of a time difference. I need to know since I have a babysitter coming." She said "yeah Idk why no one responded to you". I said and I tried to call 3 times. She said "yeah the phones have been busy all day". This is all a Big yikes. I was pissed. I rescheduled for the following week and then left to urgent care. After both the nurse and doctor there heard what happened at the Ent they both said that the situation was treated very wrong and they should have seen me. I agree and they weren't just being nice because they could have said "Im sorry that happened to you" . Soo people Beware if you get texted a different appt time for this office do Not trust it. Would like to specify that I have chronic ear infections with a recent ear drum burst. Was needing to be seen for partial hearing loss that had been there for 2.5 weeks and was not getting better. It was kind of an emergency.

BE ADVISED! In my opinion and based on my one-on-one experience with Dr. Jonathan Wiggenhorn below,…read morethis is the most BILLING THIRSTY and unprofessional $$$billing mill operation I've ever dealt with! I waited 1 hour to see him in a packed office and it got worse! He provides a Sinoplasty that is only up to 80% effective (VivAir procedure is 90% fyi) and has his office minions line you up for an appointment an then when you get to see him he comes in and says "how long have you been dealing with this?" No problem but the issues is he doesn't have time to answer questions and pushed me off to staff for pricing lol. He signed me up for 2 surgeries before showing me my CT results (which I had to request that he never provided) or giving me my CT results. Not time for questions. His staff must think that because you are over 50 they can double charge you which I had to get fixed. It was so obvious this is a money scheme for Dr. Wiggenhorn and perhaps to support his required lifestyle? it was disgusting. To the point that I had to get a second opinion! The feeling they are cranking people through his offices like a whirlwind with no professional regard for anything other than cranking the $$$ press. BE ON GUARD. The VivAir procedure that Dr Jonathan Wiggenhorn does NOT offer is a 90% success rate. YOU MIGHT GET A SECOND OPINION ALL! THIS PRACTICE IN MY EXPERIENCE IS A $$$$ MONEY PRINTING PRESS THAT I FELT IS MORE INTERESTED IN $$$$$ THAN IN YOUR BEST INTEREST.

I also want to share some photos (so people know that I'm not just slandering him), one from my 3D scan. I got an OTO-Scope (a very small camera that I could use to see inside my nose). The resulting picture confirmed everything that I had shared about my sinus congestion with Dr. Wiggenhorn, but WORSE. I did not just have sinus congestion, but a nasal polyp--which blocks my breathing through my left nostril when it enlarges as I lay down to sleep. This will cause all air to pass through the right nostril, which will then overtax it. It will then inflame the inside mucus membranes, completing the night's sinus congestion until I cannot breathe through my nose. When I am in an upright position, much of the blood will drain from the polyp, alleviating most of the symptoms. I've attached the photo (a screen-grab from the 3D scan and of the polyp). Please forgive the grossness of the photo of the polyp. But when I saw it, I was left wondering-- How could an ENT medical doctor fail to identify such a large source of nasal congestion? Did the decongestant ASRC used before the exam shrink it to the point of being unidentifiable? Did he just not want to operate on the polyp, which needs to be surgically removed? Was he concentrating his practice on the low-risk, lucrative procedures that could easily be done by a general practitioner doctor (i.e., sinus infection [antibiotic] and allergy [antihistamine or steroid spray])? Last, I now have an appointment with another ENT to deal with this issue.

I also really appreciate the staff who administer the allergy shots--they are always friendly, professional, and make the process quick and easy. My only frustration is with the billing process. The office requires payment upfront before insurance has fully processed the claim. I understand this is likely due to delays between insurance and the billing department, but it can be frustrating as a patient who consistently pays medical bills on time. For example, I'm still waiting for credits to be applied to my account while continuing to receive bills for serum charges. I would much prefer the option to keep a card on file and have charges processed after insurance has been billed and the patient responsibility is finalized. It's much easier to pay a balance owed than to wait for credits or refunds to be applied. Despite this concern, the quality of care from Dr. Ching and the clinical staff keeps me coming back.

I never heard back so I assumed that phone call had taken care of everything. However, a couple months later, I received another bill for almost $300 and have been receiving monthly statements for this "balance." I will never visit this office again. They clearly do not have their act together and the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Now I have to take time out of the things I have going on to call and deal with something that is due to their incompetence, not mine. Insanely frustrating.

Meanwhile I'm hearing them talk outside the room about how to introduce yourself in Spanish. The physician comes in to check the reaction of my skin only for a minute and decides I am good on no seasonal allergies, as expected. I only wish if they were going to take longer that they would have checked in on me or mentioned something, because by the end of it I just wanted to cry and walk out. I have a physician check me for asthma before seeing the doctor, and as soon as she walks in, the first thing she tells me in the rudest tone is, "so you're the one with all the problems!" excuse me? "hello, good afternoon, how are you?" Not my favorite greeting, personally. She tells me to breathe so she can listen. Im breathing normal, maybe I'm a little nervous after our first interaction, im not quite sure what it was, but she again very rudely says, "uh, can you breathe right???" I waited for the doctor for more than 20 minutes and, then more than 20 minutes again when they went to get some paperwork so I could leave, and the paperwork didn't exactly come out with the right information either, (I had to call another day to ask about it, in which the operator herself was confused by what was put on there and why). Dr. Hsu was very relatable and kind, she's the type of person you'd wish was family. She seemed genuine. I also had another appointment to discuss the results of my labs. That appointment was with physician Kristi Hunter, 100% recommend her! She made everything so much more clear, got me the information on the conditions I have and had a servants heart, it was so heartwarming! She also gave me suggestions on how to deal with a severe reaction with simple and honest directions. If this rating were on her alone, I would give her 5 stars without a thought! The secretaries and the phone operators are also super sweet, and everyone does ask if you have questions many times throughout the visit or call, which is super thoughtful!

To be fair, I had a positive experience with Dr. Taffet, and my son's ear tube surgery at St. Joseph's went very smoothly. However, the repeated issues I encountered with the front office staff and communication ultimately overshadowed the positives. My first experience with the office set the tone. I arrived 7 minutes late due to traffic within their parking lot while trying to manage a sick one-year-old with a 101-degree fever from recurrent ear infections and a very active two-year-old. I understand that I was late and that office policies must be followed, but the front desk employee was extremely dismissive and showed no empathy for the situation. I was turned away and told to come back later that afternoon. Another concerning experience occurred 15 days after my son's ear tube surgery. He developed what we later learned was an allergic reaction to anesthesia. When I called the after-hours line on a Saturday, I was told they only assist patients who are within 14 days of surgery. After explaining the situation, the representative eventually agreed to help but repeatedly stated that she would "get in trouble" for doing so. As a worried parent, that was not reassuring. The most frustrating experience involved my son's ongoing ear infections after tube placement. Multiple antibiotics had failed, and I left a voicemail explaining that I work night shift, sleep during the day, and I asked that my husband be contacted ASAP. No one called him that day. When I woke up and called the office, I was met with some of the rudest customer service I have experienced in healthcare. I was given no help before the office closed. My son spent the entire night awake and crying from an untreated ear infection. The next morning, we were simply told to use Ciprofloxacin ear drops that we ALREADY had at home. This information could have been communicated in under two minutes the evening before and would have saved my son a painful night. My baby developed full body hives immediately following his surgery, and we thought the cause was the Cipro ear drops, so that's why I was hesitant to give them. Turns out it was just the anesthesia, but we had no way of knowing that until we tried the Cipro drops again. I have worked in healthcare for 10 years, and what stood out most throughout these experiences was the lack of communication, empathy, and basic customer service. While I appreciated Dr. Taffet and had a positive surgical experience, the repeated issues with the office staff and follow-up care were significant enough that I would seek a different ENT provider in the future.
