I started going to Etavele because they conveniently opened in the same professional complex where I work, and offered some great specials for their Grand Opening. I chose the discounted hour long facial (I think it was about $45) and decided I would also have my eyebrows waxed and tinted ($18/$15 - eyebrow wax service alone was free for the Grand Opening). I don't recall the name of my aesthetician, but she was professional, kind, and gave me a great relaxing facial. My eyebrows looked great! She recommended two great products for home skin care (cleanser and scrub) which I purchased. They are a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way so the products last awhile and they work great. She was kind enough to charge me the promotional price for the facial, gave me the eyebrow wax for free, and charged just for the tinting. I scheduled my next appointment that day. I had to change the appointment to another date and time, but this was easily accommodated. My next facial was done by Christa (also the owner). Once again I received a great, relaxing facial. She recommended more products...all of which I have been very pleased with so far. When I booked my next appointment with Christa, we decided to upgrade to the 1.5 hour facial. I am hooked! So relaxing and includes the normal arm massage, but also a foot massage. My skin always feel amazing afterwards, and I really feel Christa is helping to address my skin care needs probably for the first time ever. My brows have never looked better! In my experience, the appointments run on time which is nice. It is fairly easy to get in with notice, but I recommend booking your next appointment after your current one to ensure you are on the books. Everyone is so friendly and they offer water, tea, coffee while in the waiting area. There are also Dove chocolates. They are always offering little specials to give a discount on services or product, and hand out samples pretty freely. Christa will also tell you that you don't have to tip her (though I do), but to leave a Yelp! review. She also reminds you to tip on the cost of the services, not the product which is nice. Having worked in a salon/spa several years ago (though I am not a cosmetologist), I can see why this business is so successful. I highly recommend giving them a try. I've had a few facials with her and they are hands down the best I've ever had. She makes you feel so relaxed and pampered, takes her time with you and explains everything she does. Oh my goodness gracious! Talk about a FAB-U-LOUS experience! Not only is it one of the few places that does male Brazilians but they waxed my nose hairs and made my eyebrows look ON FLEEK! I've also been getting Brazilians with her for a few years now and they are the BEST I have had! Ive had the henna brow tints which are fabulous, as well as lash lifts, which make my eyelashes look dark, long and AMAZING. Christa and her team are professional. They truly care about their clients and are very knowledgeable about their work. They also do makeup for events. I had makeup done for a holiday party and I got compliments all night and even after the event. Finding the right wax person is as cumbersome as finding the right hair stylist or the right chiropractor. Usually there is a slew of lousy and oftentimes traumatic experiences before you find "the one". I'm so glad to have found Christa. Not only is she exceedingly knowledgeable, professional, and beyond accommodating, she is genuinely an awesome person. I always look forward to our next appointment - hard to imagine when you're going to get your hair removed! I've been seeing her sporadically for a few years and she has nailed every bikini, brazilian, leg and eyebrow wax. Most recently I had an eyelash perm and tint, so I wouldn't have to fuss with mascara during my two week vacation. For 1/3 the price of extensions elsewhere and zero maintenance, I will definitely see her again before my next trip. read more

I only came here because of Karla. But now that she is no longer there I will not be coming back. Not to mention the front desk has been unprofessional from the first day I walked into this place. It sets a REALLY weird vibe for a spa. And if you've been here you know exactly what I'm talking about. I also think it's strange they didn't call to cancel my appointment with her and let me know, she was the one who told me. And whenever I try to call the front desk as well, nobody ever picks up. I started going here in October 2020. In the 6 short months I've gone to get Brazilians ive had 4 different esthetician's. Im Not super shy but this also isn't an eyebrow we are waxing. All of my esthetician's have been great except my last wax appointment left me very disappointed, so much so, I will be switching salons. I came home and I had so much wax left on me it stuck to my underwear and hurt to take off. I also noticed a huge patch of hair that was completely missed in the center of my mons pubis. For a $50 dollar service and a good tip, I expect good work. Just trying to find a consistent esthetician that does good work. read more

I live in East Sparks and I really wanted to find a waxer on this side of town that was as reasonably priced as European Wax Center but also did a good job. Finding anyone in the Sparks area listed for waxing was actually rather difficult though and after calling the first few salons that popped up in a Google search, I referred to Yelp where I found Christa's listing. In the calls I had just previously made, I got people who didn't know prices, referred me to call the various people on their cells and generally...a bit of a run-around. One of the salons, I had gone to once previously for an armpit waxing and the atmosphere was a bit "fast food restaurant" like, very impersonal and a bit of a bait and switch with pricing too so I didn't even call them. When I called The SkinCare Girl I was pleasantly surprised that she answered and I was given information rather quickly and that her prices were actually lower than all the other places I had been quoted including the "farm" salon I had last been to. Now granted had she been unable to answer the phone, I would have understood. I am a bit of a last minute person too, working around whatever my schedule has to offer on any particular day so I was hoping to get in that day for waxing but I wasn't counting on it. When she said her schedule was booked I was disappointed but content to possibly have to go the following day BUT to my surprise and delight, she made room in her schedule for me. She was really on a roll now. I didn't know what to expect when I got to the house that her salon is located in and was again delighted to get the same feel that you would in a Downtown Reno salon location. The house was quaint but stylish and had a certain cultured feel to it, something that Sparks is lacking a bit in and has fallen a little behind with. I was also surprised at the relaxing atmosphere of it. I was taken into the waxing room where there is a comfortable table for the waxing. She put hot stones under my shoulders too while she worked and that is nothing I have ever experienced at European Wax Center or the Above and Beyond place with any waxing. This was an underarm waxing which wasn't fast but that was okay. She mentioned to me several times about the brow waxing too which at this point, I wasn't really paying anyone to do because this type of waxing I do myself but because I was getting ready for a holiday party I relented to her gentle persuasion and I am again, thrilled that I did. She called the "brow experience" and it really and truly was. I have had my eyebrows waxed more times than I could count with various outcomes both good and bad. She took greater care in shaping- something I had somewhat experienced at the Ulta brow bar but nothing quite like this. It took a while but I was comfortable, relaxing on an awesome table, hot stones relaxing my shoulders and feeling rather wonderful. I got the total treatment and more and then it finished with the coolest "ice" massage that I have ever experienced on my freshly waxed brows and the rest of my face. It was quite the pampering session and I ended up getting so much more than I had anticipated when I made that phone call. I am a customer for life or for as long as she will have me and I almost can't wait for all the hair to grow back so I can go and do it again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Just do it! :) read more

So I no longer go here which is a shame because The eyebrow waxing here is fantastic. I am giving this 2 stars because when I have contacted for an appointment via the phone, it usually has taken days for me to get a response. The online booking is useless because I rarely have found appointments within 2 weeks of when I need it (and I'm very flexible with time of day). I give up on this place. Unless you book out weeks in advance, you will not get an appointment. I'm now paying $10 more elsewhere which sucks but I'm able to get seen when I need to be seen. read more

She emailed me back Monday and said that was no problem and gave me a couple options on how to get the GC to my mom. I emailed her back right away and gave her all the details and asked that she call me so I could give her my cc information. I emailed her again on Wed as a reminder and also a nudge since Mother's day was only a few days away. I NEVER heard back from her. Such a cute little shop! It was very cozy and relaxing. My brows look great! She took the time to ask how I liked them which was nice because some people don't. The hot stones under my shoulders was a nice touch but the best part was these frozen globe things she rubs on the areas she just waxed! It felt amazing. I will be back and I want to have a facial next time. She wore rubber gloves to do the wax which I thought was weird but I guess that is her being super sanitary. So before I posted this I went back to get a facial. It was amazing! She used some amazing products that left my face smooth and soft! She explained everything she was using and doing. I came in to get a spray tan, and man did I love it! It was my first spray tan ever. And getting down to your bare butt in front of a total stranger, does not usually make most people's "fun times" list. Especially since it was my first time ever getting a spray tan, I was an awkward duck! But Christa just made me feel so comfortable! Like it was totally normal! My tan also turned out BEAUTIFULLY. Everyone who knew I got a spray tan has been complimenting it, and strangers think it's just natural, because it was so perfectly done! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! By far, the worst wax exerpience of my life! I have been waxing for 35 years. It began when I asked to have the soft wax and not the hard wax on my bikini line and the aesthestician (I believe her name was Nicole) said she only uses hard wax and continued even though I asked her to stop. She was angry and when she RIPPED the wax off it immediately produced a very large very purple bruise. She did not apologize and told me that she did not like being told how to do her job! I told her to just stop! it was so painful and she was unbelievably rude and arrogant. I was near tears and left. I told her I was leaving for Hawaii the next day and would not be able to even wear a bathing suit, she just smirked and again said she does not like being told how to do her job. I have never been treated like this anywhere..anytime. Even though it is humiliating, I am posting pictures of the bruise so that no one else has to go through this experience. read more
