I really wanted to love this place because it made a great first impression. It was very clean, beautifully put together, and felt welcoming from the moment I walked in. You can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in the business, and I really appreciated that. I received a 90-minute massage. The massage itself was okay, but it wasn't anything memorable. I've probably had 30 massages over the years, and this one was pretty average compared to others I've had. Unfortunately, what stood out most was that my massage therapist repeatedly passed gas throughout the session. I understand that everyone is human and things happen, but it occurred multiple times during the 90 minutes, and she never acknowledged it or even said "excuse me." It made the experience uncomfortable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable massage. I truly appreciated how clean and inviting the spa was, but because of this experience, I'm not sure I'll be returning. read more

First time to try this place ,my husband booked me and our daughter to have some relaxation after our wedding ceremony. I was in awe to see how beautiful the ambiance and how clean it is. I love that they have free coffee and refreshments to offer for all the clients. They have a small gift shop corner if you want to buy some of their own local products. A long overdue review incoming - I was very happily surprised with a couple's massage at SoulSpa when in Reno for an anniversary trip. The space is incredibly cozy and homey. We were taken upstairs to the couples' room. I added on deep tissue and it was fantastic. The therapist really listened to my concerns about focusing on upper back tension and my partner's therapist worked around a recent foot injury of his. The entire experience was so relaxing and everyone from the front desk person to the therapists were very kind. I would absolutely go back if I end up in the area again! read more

I was in need of a relaxing 60 minute massage and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get scheduled the very next morning. I arrived a few minutes early and I'm glad I did because this place is beautiful and there was so much to look at. They have beautiful displays of small batch cosmetics and artisan jewelry. Most of it was out of my price range but still fun to look around. I especially liked the cozy little waiting area full of books and a beautiful selection of self serve tea. The auditory effects at the open and close of the massage were nice and I left feeling relaxed and smelling like lavender. I will say I was a little disappointed in the massage itself but I would still go back. We set up an appointment via the phone with for a 60 min couple massage session with Gloria and Mikey. Thanks to the other Yelp reviews about high praises about these two masseurs. We agree they were awesome and new exactly the right places to work on with the right touch. We both were so relaxed and could have (should have!) gone longer but alas all good things come to an end. Soul Spa is a gorgeous facility and you can tell the staff genuinely cares about their image. However, I'm saddened they feel the need to urge you to remove negative reviews, "for their business and Preeti's livelihood." It takes some of us a lot to open up about their experience and I just wanted to enjoy some relaxation for a gift I was given for Mother's Day. The amount of hiccups I had yesterday with her were abundant - so much so that as a provider, she should have handled it better. She too - even acknowledges that. I will say that I loved my last experience, and while this one fell short, I'm saddened by Aleana's (front desk management) pre-message to me today in asking for me to remove my review. I respect running a business, but at the end of the day - tact in handling a challenging situation should be handled with care. I don't do reviews to get anything from it, I don't want anything from your business in lieu of removing my review either. I would have been happy to take it upon myself and update my review with a resolution or new review with a positive experience after another appointment. However given the approach they took to address it, I am not inclined to return; complimentary or not. I'm happy to pay for services and don't expect you to overextended yourselves to remove my review. ----- Therapist: Preeti Singh ------ I would have appreciated knowing you didn't feel comfortable massaging me before my massage instead of after, since I was 6 weeks post op surgery. I would have just waited for another time by your recommendation. My surgeon cleared me medically and my incisions are sealed. I disclosed that on my intake sheet when I scheduled the appointment, plus it was my second massage ever. I felt very belittled by you and was offended in how you talked to me. Your bedside manner could use a lot of work. Especially when you questioned everything before we started and I answered all your questions. You said you'll start slow and see how I feel. However, during the massage - you just avoided my upper arm and thigh like it was the plague. After - you explained that you didn't feel comfortable massaging me or those areas from surgery. That you wouldn't recommend it. But again - you stated this after the fact. After my massage. Not to mention you asked me if I was okay with oil in my hair and I said I would please not like that, because it makes my hair greasy and I had other errands to run. I asked for a massage from shoulders down and that was disregarded. I ended up with lotion in my hair, my hair was greasy as well as my neck. I expected a great experience with your amazing reviews I read here before booking. I was looking forward to it, but this was an experience I will sadly never forget with how you made me feel. You were very short with me, and not friendly at all. Had you taken the time to read my intake in it's entirety before, or if you did, but didn't feel comfortable- I would have rather you just called me before and postponed to a timeline you felt better on or rebooked me with someone else. Communication goes a long way. While you messaged me to apologize for my experience following this review - I still feel that others who are in recovery after surgery may want to see that they need to find someone who is comfortable with them and allow for a more comfortable experience for everyone all around. Came here with my partner for a couples massage to top off a very romantic Valentine's Day weekend! It was a spectacular experience! They provided sound healing, cbd oils, and my partner got a wonderful deep tissue massage. It's extremely comforting, and it really seems like they listen to your body here and provide you with what you personally need. The only complaint we have is we were only told the deep tissue massage can make you experience cold symptoms after getting the treatment. We would have really appreciated knowing this beforehand, but they did not give us any warning. Also, we've been informed from a friend that a deep tissue massage can make any sickness you're experiencing worsen, and places should really be warning their clients of this. Before booking, do therapist-specific research. I recommend asking for Nikki and avoiding Preeti. Be aware that if anything goes wrong, you should not expect empathy from management, as there are systemic issues within the establishment where failure to acknowledge customer complaints only compounds the initial poor experience. My husband and I booked a couples massage. While his session with Nikki was good, mine with Preeti was terrible. Preeti's lack of skill and poor attitude, combined with the front desk staff Aleana's enabling behavior, resulted in an experience we absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND. The issues with my massage were as follows: 1. When I asked for lighter pressure on one hip, Preeti verbally acknowledged my request. However, she then applied the same excessive pressure to the other hip, forcing me to repeat my request. 2. While working on my neck and upper back, Preeti used insufficient pressure and had no rhythm. It felt like a 5-year-old finger painting with random poking around. When I asked her to move on due to the discomfort, she responded in a very patronizing and sarcastic tone, "Oh you poor thing. Maybe you should see a chiropractor." - for reference, I don't have any musculoskeletal issues and regularly practice pilates 3. At the session's end, Preeti left the massage table elevated. Fortunately, Nikki noticed and lowered it so I could safely step onto the floor. 4. During check-out, I reported these issues to Aleana at the front desk. Her response exemplified poor customer service and inadequate damage control: (a) She dismissed my concerns, saying, "Oh, I'm sure Preeti didn't intend to sound mean," without acknowledging the validity of my feedback. (b) Instead of addressing the core issues of poor service quality and unprofessional behavior, she offered a token "10% discount coupon for your next visit." This coupon turned out to be a $10 discount, which was not only inadequate compensation but also misleading, as it didn't represent a true 10% discount on the service. (c) At no point did Aleana offer a sincere apology. read more

Truly a bad experience. Please avoid this place perfectly set up for owner, Jamie Oberg to take a non-wellness approach to her business policies, customer service, moral and ethical standards. Soul Spa should not be the Best of Reno 5 top Spas. Here's why. My appointment was set for 11:15. I showed up for my appt early, the doors are locked, knocked on the doors, no one appears, return to my car, and make calls to Soul Spa, no one answers. At that point, I am pretty furious that I had to make 120 mile trip. So the brash receptionist calls me back after I had left. I asked her to reschedule my appointment as she says they have a policy and they would charge my card $105 for a No Show. So I asked to talk to a manager. Jamie then calls me later and supports the receptionist's story and will charge the gift card or my card on file. I asked her to (after a back and forth upsetting discussion) to reevaluate and reconsider issuing the costs of the Gift Certificate back to my friend or rescheduling my appointment and she says I am not a good fit. She turns to someone and tells them to block me out of the system. She then sends me a photo of me walking away from Soup Soa at 11:09 am. Jamie also send me another sarcastic, manipulative, and condescending text about the option I should choose for her to charge me and follows it with hearts and doves. This is not a place of tranquility or wellness. Avoid this place. As an Indigenous woman, I chose not to be treated like this. So I am objecting to being charged for being present and showing up early to be served. read more

I called and spoke to Erica and she had one appointment available. She mentioned it was with a male and I know my wife prefers female masseuses. I ended up booking it anyways. When I surprised my wife she was ecstatic but once she found out it was with a male she was very nervous. I called and ask if it was at all possible to have a female which it wasn't. Erica was extremely sincere and apologized, she offered to waive the appointment cancellation.
