I would highly recommend not going to this place if you want treatment that works and doesn't burn you. Nella is a very defensive and aggressive person. When I informed her, she blamed me for moving. Additionally, when I went a few times, the room smelled of drugs. When I informed Nella, she said that she didn't smell anything. Very disappointed with the service and customer service. I have been going to Eternal Youth Spa for a little over a year now and I have been getting very good service. I was very happy with their services until I was just burnt recently. I was very transparent with what I was going through and that's when their lack of communication and professionalism started. The owner of the youth spa sent me this message: Hi Robert. This is Nella. Owner at Eternal Youth. I do not send private or company information over the phone/email due to various reasons, including fraud. If you have an attorney, I'm happy to work with them. I've been in business for 17 years and never had a lawsuit. I have a reputable business and always work with people. That said, we never heard back from you to help you with your skin. This happened in the midst of summer when clients have to be the most careful with skin care after laser. As mentioned during your consult and in the waiver you signed, hyperpigmentation is a possible side effect, especially in the summer. What I don't understand is why it took the owner so damn long to reply to me one. Two HOW in providing someone a copy of your companies insurance FRAUD... like is she stupid? Did she just start being a business owner yesterday? Like wtf... 2 the incompetence of your technician is the reason now you are now about to be SUED! Being a business owner her lack of communication is digging her a even deeper whole. So I hope by me suing her this will help her learn her lesson on how to effectively communicate with her clients. But anyway she makes all of her clients sign a waiver stating that hyperpigmentation is a possibility. Again I sent this lady pictures and clearly my face is burnt. Like hyperpigmentation is....... Yeah never mind she seen the pictures. I will not recommend this company ever again to anyone. I am really pissed because I am being played like a kid, like a fool like I don't know business. I would highly advise that you pay attention to all of the negative reviews and avoid this place, unless you enjoy gaslighting, being given a bunch of reasons for why something isn't their fault and that you might have PCOS, enjoy being told that they have been open for 19+ years over and over the first second after you complain, and want a lack of accountability. They will keep trying to remind you that they're giving you a full body package "deal", but they neglect to inform you that they will only have you booked ONLY for a half hour slot for your entire face and body. They claim that with the large head/tool they can cover all these areas in under half an hour. I only really had hair reduction in 2-3 body parts, so the $2700 I paid here over the course of a year for six full body sessions is either the same price or more than it would have been if I would have paid separately for those body parts elsewhere (for instance, at SEV, where they have full body price for the exact same price for six session bundle as it cost me here for six at EYS). I feel that they turned up the setting on those areas only, but the settings utilized were not optimal for other parts of my body or my face where maybe the hairs are finer. It seemed to work for course hair only. I have not had any reduction in areas that didn't have course hair to begin with. They will probably respond that I have pcos and recommend to talk to an endocrine dr (just wait for their response). I would not recommend this place for the lack of customer service. Yes, they'll respond to you, but it will always start with 1) we have been the top laser hair removal place for 19+ years, 2) you cannot sue because you signed a waiver (which any court would say is unconscionable and you should not let that discourage you from trying to file if that's what you really want to do), and 3) that you are harassing them. The owner called me on the day of my last session with them when I was still home, out of no where, and started arguing at me and making sure I will be on time and proceeded to continue going off. 1-Yes, due to traffic I did not arrive on time only twice because I would have arrived 5-15 mins late and turned away after driving for over 20 miles one way, and 2-I already informed them at the prior session that I would be downtown anyway that day and that I would be on time. They ended up burning my brazillian area on that session, but I was quiet and only contacted them afterwards to ask for the records/settings so that I could continue my sessions elsewhere. They refused to provide it. I let them know later on that they did burn me and sent a photo too. My underarms turned dark with permanent hyperpigmentation after one of the sessions with them, which has not gone away after almost a year and I haven't continued my treatment in that area because of how dark it's gotten. It will take me a lot of time and money to try to correct it, if its even possible. I saw another reviewer on here where EYS responded that they will work with their attorney, so when I contacted them about contacting their attorney before I let them know of the burn, rather than be put on hold to speak to the owner, I hung up because I didn't want to deal with them directly. But they called me and harassed me and argued with me, hung up on me TWICE and then they called back after the first call. I never wanted to talk to them! They got mad at me when I sent the photo of the burn of the vaginal area and said why I sent it when they said on the phone that they wanted to see photos. They get so mad and deny having done anything even though it was timestamped three days after the session. As you know, burns are not immediately apparent. I was very kind to them and did not want to leave a review, but they think they can get away with telling people there's a waiver so that they can't sue, but do not let them discourage you with their words. Law does not allow that under the unconscionable theory- when a business tries to have you sign a waiver, in attempt to escape liability when situations that can cause permanent damage or pain to our bodies and get away with it, especially when their technicians aren't even required to have licensed credentials (and mine did not have any license). There's a script that each employee recites when you bring up a comment and they will literally argue with you for hours about anything and everything and have an excuse for everything you try to tell them. They will not take any accountability for anything, they record all your phone calls and voice when you're there. They may have been the top place 15 years ago, but there are way better places that will treat you with respect and decency, and actually apologize to you which this place has never done to me. Plus, their machines are older models. There are newer candela gentle max pro models available at other places. I really wish I shopped around and I could have avoided headache after headache. read more

I asked multiple times for Mary the laser technician to use more aggressive settings but she felt confident that she was using the optimal settings. I was referred to this place by a friend who said marvelous things about it, so I had to give it a try...AND MY GOD I'M I PLEASED! Started back in December 2010, and I am getting marvelous results. George usually takes care of me, and he is great, but Nella has seen me as well and she is fabulous too! I recommend them both! Both are very friendly, funny, and honest about the pricing and results. The girls at the front desk are SUPER helpful, and do the best they can to accomodate dates, and offer to call back if anyone cancels. (They are usually booked) The location of the office is a little iffy, and once you arrive at the building you won't be sure if your at the right location because it looks isolated and somewhat creepy. To add to the creep factor it does not help that you have to walk down some eerie stairs to get to the office lol. The parking isn't so great, but NONE of this has stopped me and WON'T stop me from continuing my sessions. (The facility inside is super clean...and I reiterate the overall friendliness, and efficiency of the staff helps you forget and forgive the above mentioned) As far as prices go, this is by far the most economic laser hair removal I have come across....and by golly I've searched!! This place is amazing. Here's why: Okay, so at a typical everyday waxing salon it is $60 to get one leg waxed. Therefore it's $120 to get both waxed. When you wax the hair grows back 100 % in a month or so. One Laser Hair Removal Session for (both) legs at Eternal Youth is $200. Personally for me (but also the majority of people) my first session resulted in the hair being substantially thinner and softer, AND about (I'd estimate) a 40% reduction in hair. This is after the first laser hair removal treatment. I have not had my second treatment yet but after 3-6 treatments depending on the person, you can expect up to and possibly over a 95% permanent reduction in hair in the area treated. Therefore I have no idea why any woman (or man for that matter) would opt for the archaic pain of expensive waxing-when it comes back 100% in a couple weeks when they could pay maybe 25%ish more depending on the area and have it removed for good. ALSO... the pain from waxing is for me is right on the brink of being unmanageable. When you get laser hair removal specifically with the laser at Eternal youth which sprays cooling spray before and after each "laser zap" you feel a sensation. I would not even categorize it as pain. It is 10% of the pain you feel when getting waxed but you can still tell that the lasers are doing something. Seriously the expense you end up paying in the long run makes this an insanely smart investment and will save people so much money in the long run. I've recommended this place to my closest friends. I was very weary of this place initially because there prices are so low and I've read about people getting burned from laser treatments but this place is amazing, totally safe and amazingly affordable. At my first treatment I had a ton of questions about the safety and Nella eased my fears with factual information and good, very clear instructions on how be absolutely sure you won't experience hyperpigmentation (As long as you don't go tanning for 2 weeks after the treatment you will have no skin issues... (ie: hyperpigmentation, scarring or discoloration. ) She also recommends wearing sun screen on the area to protect it if it's in an area that regularly sees the sun. When I decided to start Laser Hair Removal, I researched different reviews here on yelp and this place seemed to have great reviews. I decided to give them a try, called and made an appointment. I seriously had to wait 2 months before getting in. They are packed constantly. Rescheduling your appointment is not that easy. I walked in and was told that the hair should be no problem. I should see great results after a few treatments and the 6th and 7th treatments were used for cleanup. I figured that I would start seeing great results after 2 or 3 treatments, but it was false hope. After your first appointment the hair falls off for about 1 week and then grows back again. After my 3rd treatment, I figured that I would see better results, but maybe 20% of the hair disappeared. To be honest, treatment 1& 2 should be eliminated. Waste of money & time considering that you have to wait 6 weeks in between treatments. The 5th or 6th treatment, I lost count.. was my last treatment. I can honestly say that I am 50% body hair free. At $250.00 a pop I figured, I would be 80% hair free by now. (legs, bikini, underarms) The staff is very nice, nothing bad to say about that. The service itself I feel it's a bit fast. Like a drive-through. Get in and get out. I don't have any other experience to compare it to, but I feel like I paid for 100% service, and received 70%. read more

I went to Eternal Youth based on its Yelp rating... a surefire way to like any place you go to! This spa is located in a weird neighborhood, in a building that was built in the 1950's and then never touched again. Due to the looks of the place, I contemplated how wise it would be to let them laser my bits. However, my vanity trumped my sense of self-preservation and I went on in. The staff was very kind and accommodating; I did a mental white-glove test and found the place to be fairly spotless. The woman who did my treatment was very sweet and insanely beautiful, which, seeing as she was zapping my parts, would have made me even more self-conscious, but her sweet personality lasered all of my shame away. She was very thorough with her explanations of the process, and even offered to do a "test" on me for free, seeing as my coloring was not necessarily ideal for the process (it is best to have very light skin and very dark hair). However, I came to play and I went ahead with the session anyway. Bonus? It was actually cheaper than advertised on the website. Awesome. It takes about 2 full weeks for the lasered hairs to jump ship; it has been a week and already some are doing so. I plan on going back to finish up the treatments and am fully looking forward to the end results! If you are on a budget, hate fuzz, don't mind adverse parking situations and not seeking a high-end experience, then Eternal Youth is the way. to. go. Seriously. Do it. So, first I started doing laser at a fancy doctors office that charged a lot. They wouldn't do my face because I was "too tan" but I am naturally dark. I did six sessions with them on another part and nothing changed and then I found George and he is amazing. He is friendly, fast and super affordable. I immediately saw results. It crazy how this little flaw that has bothered me my whole life is now gone, like it never existed. My girlfriends thought it must not be that good because it is so affordable but it is way better than the most expensive places. I went to my first laser hair removal appt last Tuesday and I am nothing less than pleased. George is awesome! He began by asking me what areas of my face were the most problematic for me. After pointing out my concerns and also stressing how important it was to me that my skin not get burned, he began the procedure, which lasted less than 5 minutes. I've had laser hair removal once before this and stopped the lady half way thru because it was so painful. I hardly felt anything with the type of laser device that is used at this place. He also told me that I don't have much facial hair (which I gave him a weird look because any facial hair is too much to me lol) and that I would only need between 4-6 treatments. Well here it is a week post session one. The hairs are beginning to fall out of my face and I would say that I have about a 50% hair reduction already! My only con is that the place is so far from my home. Even with me working in the South Loop, it took over an hour to get there in rush hour traffic. :/ read more

I have always wanted to get laser but everywhere I looked the prices are so outrageous for one treatment and are a little judgemental working with a transgender woman which makes the experience a little uncomfortable.... So I started to look around and I started to talk to some of the girls and the name that I always came up was George so I looked into it more and I made an appointment it was the best decision I have ever made... From my first treatment I saw results and every treatment after that my result have been showing nothing but progress and excellent results I am only on my sixth treatment and for the last 4 months I have not had any hair growth which is fabulous =)...... not only was I happy with my results so was my family, my cousin has come along to start her treatment she's only gone for three treatments and she absolutely loved the results. Mary makes the appointment go fast as she makes small talk and makes sure I'm comfortable. I would give zero star if I could !!! I wanted to remove hair from my chest. I came in for consulting appointment with the owner ( nella) and she was very nice and informative and gave me a coat for 200$ each treatment for 6 treatment , so far so good . When I came for my second treatment I have been told that the owner not working herself anymore ( she has employee ) and now on the price will be 250$!!! (25% increase ). I obviously refuse to so much more from my original coat and ask to talk to the owner . It's have been two weeks and no one call me yet... I am about half way done with my laser hair removal process (basically everything from my abdomen down is being taken off, along with my underarms), and I have to say, I love what I get for the money. For what I'm paying, I could get a full body done, but I just can't bring myself to shave my arms for some reason. But George has been so understanding and helpful. He's always cheerful, answers my questions knowledgeably, and asks how I'm feeling throughout treatment each session. It's not a painless process in the literal sense, but every trip I make to Eternal Youth is a pleasure. The front desk staff are always friendly (and super cute!), and George is really amazing at his craft. I haven't seen Nella but I'm sure she's wonderful as well. If you're of any middle eastern descent, you know how embarrassing body hair issues can be. I never wear bathing suits or anything because I've always been a bit embarrassed. But I cannot wait to be done with treatment to have a pretty hairless body to show off next year ;-). To that reviewer who said that George overcharged her for her face treatment, what does "bottom of my face" even mean? Chin to cheekbones... what else is there on your face? The only other hair left is your eyebrows and hairline, and I don't think those get lasered that often. Don't listen to the negative reviews, guys. The prices are very reasonable--even with Groupons you can't get good deals like this, unless you're having a very small area treated. Eternal Youth may not be as fancy as some other places, but if you want something that they aren't providing you, just ask--I'm sure they have ice packs, etc. available if you care to ask. As far as it being a laser hair removal factory, I want to ask: Would you want to be lasered somewhere no one else was going? Business is booming because they're a small company (only two people doing all the laser treatment). I personally don't want to sit in a salon for an hour--I have places to be. I love how quick everything is, and the results are amazing! Honestly after my first session I saw about 40% immediate reduction in hair. I love this place, it is the answer to my hairy wishes. I get my LH treatments done by George. George will make you feel very comfortable, and once done have ya feeling very pretty. Feeling comfortable is very important for me, when I'm getting embarrassing hair removed from embarrassing or sacred parts of my body. So that alone gets 1 star. The prices here are reasonable beyond other places I've seen prices for around town (unless they use groupon, youswoop, etc specials, but even then it still doesn't compare). I'll admit the price for the combined areas that I'm getting did now, is so cheap it's a steal (No Groupon required!). I'm a broke college student, I'm always on the prowl for deals & Steals, so an extra 2 stars for price. Oh, also the procedures are very effective, unlike some places I've gone for LHR treatments (I wont put any spas on blast, or maybe I'll just go to their page and yelp MO). Now I'll top it off with a final 2 stars for effectiveness. I've been coming here for 10 months now, and every time I feel wonderful afterwards. Unfortunately, I had to discontinue the treatment because I wasn't seeing any significant result nor reduction in my hair growth. Recently, I've found Eternal Youth Spa on yelp and after reading the reviews, I've decided to give laser hair removal treatment one more try. So far, I've had two sessions and haven't seen any results yet.
