I'm going to start off by saying I drive here once a month from west loop to get my eyebrows threaded. They have a free parking lot in the back. and it costs $5 for eyebrows. If you're picky about your brows, make sure you are specific because I've had someone different everytime and I've gotten a different shape every one of those times. I am so angry! I paid $7 to clean up my eyebrows and $15 to tint them. I paid with a card so my subtotal ended up being almost $27. I am going to a conference and did nit want to worry about clean eyebrows. This is stealing people's money! When you cannot do something then let somebody else do it. I have gotten my eyebrows threaded and waxed here a couple times. The first couple of times I thought it was decent and sometimes even great. Unfortunately I recently learned the hard way that it really depends who you get. Had my eyebrows absolutely butchered today, completely uneven. I went in and asked for a clean up and now the end of my eyebrow is half the size. The curve is completely messed up. In need of something quick, I let the young lady know I wanted short lashes along with a natural look. Instead, she placed the heaviest most longest set of lashes. Then, she cut them with scissors to apparently reached the "short length look," making them appear like complete fans. It was very uneven, unnatural, and unattractive looking. These people, at least on the Thursday mid-morning that I went, are not extremely skilled from what I can tell. I had the full face threading, which took much longer than I am used to from Devon Street and was not as thorough of a job. And it was $5 more at $25 for full face threading. And the lady, though nice, kept commenting on how hairy I was, and she said she couldn't thread the side of my face because my hair was too long. She waxed instead. On more than just the side of my face (lazy much?). The lady 3 WEEKS AGO (the last time I had a full face threading) at the other salon didn't seem to have a problem. I wanted a haircut also and assumed it would be inexpensively priced because it is on Devon street, but $25 for a layer cut? I'll stick with supercuts in the loop for $17.95, especially after the threading experience. As an additional con, the lady was trying to tell me I desperately needed a haircut because my hair was too long. I didn't ask for her opinion, and obviously I was aware of that which is why inquired as to the price in the first place. I enjoyed the full facial cleaning for $10 (a cheaper alternative to a facial for me, as their facials ranged from $20 to $50), though I still broke out afterwards (probably due to the threading, but I thought the cleaning would help minimize it, and I thought it would take care of blackheads, but no). The massage felt good, but it was a little abrasive. I tipped 20% because the lady was nice & obviously trying, and maybe my standards are too high, and I felt sorry for her a little bit, but I regret tipping so much at this overpriced salon. Additionally, their restrooms are in the back and connected to some other businesses (I unexpectedly came across a group of men when I went to use the restroom), kind of shady in my opinion. I guess their prices are higher because of their more professional looking interior, but don't let it fool you! read more

This is a review for their other location down the street at 2706. New location, so everything inside is super clean and new. They do both threading and waxing as well as henna/makeup/facials. I love that the chairs actually come up to or past your head so when you lean back you have a lot of support on your head--I've been to other places---and that is not the case. $5 for eyebrow threading, $3 for upper lip. This place is quick, clean, and thorough! As an added bonus they were bumping Jay Sean as the back ground music--Love it---I would definitely go out of my way to come back here since the services were so awesome! read more

Considering how affordable this is, I don't really have any complaints. The prices are great and the services are great. I had tried to flat iron my hair the day before and it was too poofy, so Deeba did a wonderful job getting it flat and straight. I was nervous about getting my eyebrows threaded and it happened pretty quickly. It wasn't really painful so that was good and at first I thought she might have made them too thin, but when I saw both eyebrows together... it really does look great. I got the "nose clean" blackhead remover over my entire face which was a little painful and I didn't really like how afterwards she used what looked like cocoa butter body lotion, but thus far I haven't had any reaction to the lotion so no complaints. What I didn't like so much is that during the waxing (full leg and underarm) some spots were missed. She was able to correct a lot of the ones on my legs but on my underarms I had gotten irritated and couldn't handle more tugging. I think a lot of spots were missed on my legs because Deeba was teaching another woman how to do it, so I guess that can't be helped. I just wish she would have told me she was training someone. Other than that I had a great great great experience at this salon. It happened very quickly and was very high quality. The ladies there are so nice. And for all the services I got it was only $110. This is definitely the best spot I have personally found in Chicago (and the surrounding area) to get my threading needs met. The thread used here is nice and thin, so you're not left with a bunch of residue and "thread fluff" on your face when it's all done; and there's always at least three ladies ready and waiting to take care of your threading. Like most salons of this nature, the name of the game here is the threading and the waxing - but really, do the threading. I can't speak to any of the other services. When you arrive, you will be asked by someone what service you want, then you sit in the chairs at the front and either take the next available lady or wait for the one you want. I personally recommend Noor. She's a gem. She is quick (which is SO important), and gives good guidance about what you need to do to help her make you look your best. When it's all over, you pay up at the front, and then give your tip directly to whomever did your threading before you leave. Personal tip - bring your own moisturizer for afterwards. I have very sensitive skin, so I always slather on my own face balm in the car after I'm done here. There is another location further east by Patel Brothers. That location is much smaller, but equally good. I always ask for Hema when I'm there. read more

The worst beauty salon I have ever been to in my life. This is the second time that trained personnel do not know how to deal with the sensitive organ such as the eyes. This person's name is TUlli. She is from Bangladesh. I recommend that it shut down. During a facial the person with her fingers pushed in exfoliant stuff in my eyes. Then she claimed that the eyes should have been closed during a facial. The eyes were closed, but insensitive handling led to an irritating eye. I am uploading pictures. Just the worst. I just moved to Chicago from CA about a month and a half ago and I was in desperate search of an affordable and trustworthy eyebrow threading place. After asking around, I was referred to Deeba. I was happy to find that this was a Desi business and that the prices were exactly the same as my eyebrow threading go-to place in CA ($6 for eyebrows, $3 for upper lip). I've seen a lot of eyebrow threading places in Chicago but they are about $10+. If you are taking the 155 from Sheridan, this place is very easy to find! It had a very spacious waiting area and I went during the afternoon of a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. I like that they took their time when they did my eyebrows. Something different than what I'm used to is that they also brush some baby powder in the area that's going to be threaded. And they also put lotion on afterwards that came with a little massage and that felt really nice! Coming home to take a better look at my eyebrows, I found a lot of little pieces of hair that they didn't thread off all the way. The area between my eyebrows also had some light hairs that weren't threaded off. I'm not sure if that was intentional but I would've liked for all of that to be cleaned properly. It's just hard to tell in the moment when they give me the mirror to look at because I'm focusing on the overall look of my brows. Nonetheless, this will probably be my go-to place in Chicago because I was pleased with the service and the outcome overall. My sister has been threading my eyebrows for the last 15 years of my life but I felt like I needed a new set of hands. Crazy right? Eyebrows are everything these days so it's very hard to trust anyone with them. This place got recommended by a few of my family members who have swore that they were amazing here. This place is very clean. I've been coming here for years. Sueshe has been doing my eyebrows. I travel 20minutes to come here. It's always worth it. Very nice and professional. The only thing I dislike the bathroom has a out of order sign. And we all know it's not out of order. How are they going to work all day and not use the bathroom.
