After reviewing Yelp site see at least 1/3 of Customers disappointed in purchase from your company . You saying blah blah blah does not bode well For your furniture company . It does not resolve any issues . Your company closed many stores And it can't seem to find qualified staff. Employee I purchase bed thru Robert outright lied to me about TD bank process which is a crime itself (Robert ). Also Lied about length of Time For delivery . Although we didn't care for our customer decorator representative. She was very opinionated and pushy. At times she was even insulting, like recommending that we repaint our rooms (that we just had painted) to match what she wanted us to buy. We found the experience at the store very informative and were able to put together what we wanted (while ignoring her). **But the true purpose of the review is to acknowledge the two wonderful men that delivered our furniture. I want to Thank THEM very much for the wonderful delivery service. We appreciated their hard work which they did with a smile as well as all the help they provide in ensure we were satisfied. They were two of the most polite and courteous individuals that I have met. The 5 Star Rating is due to the two of you. I apologize for not getting your names. I would of like to include them. We have been very happy with the services provided by Ethan Allen of Englishtown. This is our second leather sofa, our first is in perfect condition and it is 15 years old. That one is being handed down to our daughter for her first apartment. Our designer was Lizette Louis. She was knowledgable of the pieces we were interested in and spent much time helping us make our decision and pick our options. To avoid having us visit the store on a snowy day, Lizette sent us pictures of wood leg options for our sectional after we made a change in color. The sectional arrived about 3 months early, a very nice surprise. We were pleased with the delivery scheduling and the care that was given to place our sectional exactly where we wanted it. Since delivery, Lizette has been in contact with us regarding any questions we have had. We will make sure to recommend Lizette Louis and Ethan Allen to anyone we know who is interested in purchasing excellent quality furniture. read more

Very disappointed by purchased merchandise. Before relocation this store used to be In East Brunswick on Rt. 18. Several years ago, I bought a dining set and a dresser totaling around $9,000. Dining set was presented to me as solid wood structure. But in a short period of time I realized that was not the case. I noticed how easily a dining table was getting scratched; and if water drops were not removed immediately, they would leave permanent marks. Never happened to solid wood before on the items I have from different manufacturers. Handles on the dresser were deformed from day one and were replaced soon. Paint is pealing off in multiple places due to poor priming. Before you purchase anything in the store, please do you research of a quality representation. read more

Stay away from this place. I bought a sofa here a year ago. When it was delivered it looked different from what I had picked out. I had taken photos of the model in the store and when compared to what I received, it was not the same. The decorators who had helped me came to my house and agreed with me. Nevertheless, after many letters and phone calls and even an appeal to our local consumer affairs bureau, the management in the store and the executives in the headquarters office refused to exchange the sofa. They made some ridiculous offers to put less filling in the cushions (which would have left gaping fabric) and suggested I turn the cushions around daily so they would "settle" and look more like what I had ordered. (Everyone has time and energy to turn sofa cushions around daily, don't they?) I was at the point of taking them to small claims court when my mother became very ill and my attention was concentrated on her for several months. Rather than resume trying to communicate with an obviously consumer-unfriendly business, I have since donated the sofa to Habitat for Humanity and purchased a new sofa from a different furniture store (NOT an Ethan Allen store). I received exactly what I ordered with no problem. I also ordered 2 chairs and an ottoman that I am very happy with. This was an expensive lesson for me, but with the additional furniture I ordered from the new store, it was an expensive loss for Ethan Allen as well. Don't take a chance with them. Shop at a store that will appreciate your business and not make your transaction into a nightmare. read more
