After having one failed IVF I wanted to make sure we got it right the second time. I'd heard that…read moreacupuncture had high success rates so I found Orchid Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Rebecca was wonderful and so was the rest of the staff. During my first IVF cycle I had a lot of symptoms and lethargy but during my second cycle with acupuncture, I had very few to no symptoms. This made the second cycle super easy and relaxing. I started one month before beginning my second cycle and continued throughout the cycle as per the acupuncture protocol. After just one or two sessions with Rebecca I already felt more balanced and even a bit younger in my body. When I started IVF drugs and as they began to become more intense acupuncture kept my body feeling balanced. I hardly noticed the drugs at all which was a huge difference from the first cycle. During the first cycle I gained 15 lbs and this cycle I lost 10 lbs, thankfully. Besides making the process easier on my body and mind it was great having someone to talk to who knew what I was going through. Rebecca asked detailed questions and had answers for my questions about what could be going on in my body. It was like having a good friend to talk to who had gone through what I was going through. Once I had my embryo transfer and did the acupuncture protocol for that part of the procedure I was satisfied that I'd done all I could to become pregnant. While I was enduring the 2ww I had an appointment and it helped me to relax, detox and feel like I could do something more to make things happen. Then when I found out I was pregnant, I continued through my first trimester. At this stage acupuncture helped ensure that my uterus got the blood supply it needed to hold on to the embryos. I could actually feel the difference when she put a crown of needles at the top of my head. Acupuncture and other forms of body work have another benefit besides the local and systematic benefits, they force us to lay still and relax for 30-45 minutes. Relaxation is so key to having a successful IVF cycle. Rebecca has music or meditations you can listen to. I usually listened to an IVF meditation for the stage of the cycle I was in. I think overall the reason I produced 21 eggs the second cycle vs 6 eggs the first cycle, and am now pregnant with twins is because I chose to include acupuncture in my treatment.

I'll start off by admitting that until recently, I had never had a message before. Yes, we have a…read moremasseuse that comes by the office and does 15 minute hair massages, but that had been the extent of my massage experience. Since I've been pregnant, I've developed some back and shoulder tension as well as headaches and decided it was probably time I give this whole massage thing a real try. Side note: I am not a fan of people touching me (Most notably strangers) and especially as a pregnant person. Orchid made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. My masseuse, Jennifer, was very communicative. She asked me questions and provided recommendations and techniques I can do on my own. It helped my headaches almost immediately and I find a lot of value in my monthly visits. They specialize in a variety of women focused issues from fertility through post-partum and offer additional services (Of which I have yet to try) including acupuncture, reiki, herbal medicine, etc. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. It's tucked away in a calm Bay View neighborhood, parking is never an issue and it just adds to the calming effects of your treatment. I would highly recommend Orchid for first timers as well as people with special needs or requirements.

(At regular or western doctor visits through the decades, there was nothing to be done other than my being assigned 3 physical therapy appointments along with Ibuprofen at each incident, yielding MONTHS of pain and little help...) Within several MINUTES with Dr. Zhou, WITH THE PLACEMENT OF A SINGLE NEEDLE, he dropped my shoulder pain levels from 10+ to a 1 or 2, and told me what I suffered from was 'frozen shoulder'!! It was nothing short of amazing! I have never been able to get a diagnosis on this, my pain dropped immediately, and he knew EXACTLY what the problem was. I'm way out of balance as I favor and use my right arm for everything, and seldom use my left arm and shoulder. I have never done activities like golf because that I am terrified of re-igniting this painful injury. I have since continued Dr. Zhou's very effective treatments, techniques, and advice to roll back the decades-long list of damage to my shoulder muscles and tendons - to help get my strength back, and help restore proper shoulder functioning. I feel like him and his sessions are truly healing me. Dr. Zhou shows compassion and concern, and it feels like he is 'my' doctor. Dr. Zhou is also very warm and funny. This review allows me to give him up to 5 stars, but I give him 100 stars!! His office staff and massage people are also super nice, friendly, and clearly exceptionally trained. Everyone who needs medical help should consider Dr. Zhou!

Just found my acupuncturist. Skip to paragraph 6 for the actual review. The first few paragraphs…read moreare me ranting about my background... I grew up getting acupuncture - my aunt is a practicing doctor (though in California), and my dad also practiced it before we moved to the States. When done right, this is great to bring relief from pain, especially muscle/nerve. This is just the very basics. More seasoned doctors can cure many more illnesses. I am pretty young and healthy and don't need anything more than occasional pain relief. Coming into my 40s, I get up once or twice a year with a kink in my neck and upper back. They go away on their own after about a month. But I've learned that if get to an acupuncturist right away (the faster, the better. Don't stew on that pain), I can get relief in one, if not two visits. When I'm in California or in Korea, I've found plenty of acupuncturists who were superb. I've also been treated for some intestinal problems in Korea with a great doctor. Not so easy to find in Milwaukee. I've been to a few, and considering that my complaint should be a pretty straight forward fix, I was very surprised that I couldn't find a doctor who could pinpoint the problem properly. Just a few years ago, I found another acupuncturist in town who knew what she was doing. Unfortunately she has retired and I was on the hunt again. Enter Doctor Wei! Apparently she's been in this Whitefish Bay location for decades and I just never knew. Her office is right in a building on Silver Spring, on the second floor. I don't think she does Chinese medicine, so there is no herbal smells going into the office. Dr. Wei does everything herself, and the place isn't bustling with people. I was able to book a last minute session on Saturday (she let me come in after her business hours cuz I wanted to come in right away. Very considerate). After waiting in the waiting area for just about a minute, Dr. Wei (she kept her mask on the whole visit) greeted me and handed me some forms to sign before going back to her patient. I had arrived 10 minutes early, and right on time, the other patient walked out. after a minute or so, Dr. Wei had me come in. She checked my pulse (traditional way to diagnose patients), gave me some insight on why I was having problems, and we went inside one of the rooms. The room was clean and cozy. After checking me out, she decided to do a little cupping before getting in with the needles. Afterwards, I felt about 80% cured, so I scheduled one more visit for Wednesday. It's been a week now since last Wednesday and I'm not feeling any lingering pain. The visit lasted about an hour. The initial visit was $99 and the subsequent visits are $80. She accepts credit cards and HSA cards as well. She is very pleasant, knowledgeable and caring. She will listen to you and help you figure out the reasons you're not feeling good. She even gave me some tips on what type of foods to eat and avoid to to get recurring pains. Overall, very happy.

It was so lucky for me to meet an such extremely experienced, highly educated, and wide knowledgeable doctor, as Dr Wei, in Milwaukee area. All I want to say is it is hard to find a trustworthy doctor. And what I received are much worthy than the reasonable payment.

Words can't explain the amazing experience I have had with this office. This place has put Western…read moreMedicine to shame. In 2020 I began experiencing a rash, became allergic to numerous things and it went down from there. I had been involved with exotic animals with a news story we did and suspected possibly a link due to that. I went to to Mayo and was told I was Delusional and it went down from there. That label gave Western Medicine a pass to treat you due to knowing they had you in a corner. Two years into this and I got here where they did a Molecular Pathology Report and indeed I did have two strains of fungus and Dermatophyte pathogens. Why was this test not ever used for Western Medicine and those who are being denied treatment for what they choose to call Morgellons? This test would be a simple fix. It led me to begin investigating the process ...and I discovered the coverup with the CDC. Interesting that the Dr. who labeled me was also one who wrote for the CDC about Morgellons. Here...I have gotten more information in 3 months than I have had in 3 years. They just completed a GI microbial Assay map which takes stool samples and extensively studies them. I received a 3 page read out on my insides and am loaded with two separate bacterias that could very well have been the original cause of my rash. Yet not one Dr. ever did that? Hmmmm.....always got generic overnight studies and when things came back as "probably this..." there was never any follow-up to see if it was possible that it wasn't that. Western doctors have never allowed me to go on my gut instincts. Here Jessica got it figured it and although I have a long road...I have a start. All the antibiotics Western Med throws at you are solely to line their pockets. During the course of 2 years I have become antibiotic resistant to so much that I'm assuming my bacteria issue is from the resistance and robbery of good bacteria. Keep in mind here they will assign essential pharmacy meds if needed. They just balance the needs based on individuals.. They cover every base with medical options and are right up there with the Western field with technology that is used there. I would love to see more of this and applaud the healing center for giving me not just hope...but acknowledging me as a living, breathing human being who has people who depend on her life. That part will be addressed when this is over...but this facility came into my life for a reason .It actually gives me hope again..

I've always been a fan of ancient medicine as way of healing so I was eager to try. Off the bat, the studio is welcoming as you enter. There is an overall warmth and calming aroma, and you can really feel the soothing energy. Working with Anne has been great. She comes off as very gentle, understanding, and of course, knowledgeable. She made my first time very comfortable. We talked through what issues I need work on and she thoroughly explained the hows and whys of treatment. I laid back in one of their comfortable reclining chairs and prepared to be poked! All jokes aside, you can hardly feel the needles being put in. With my goals to work on digestive and skin issues, needles were places in my legs, arms, and face as way of focusing in on that treatment. I'm still fascinated on how it all works! Don't get me wrong, you feel a bit paralyzed at first, as you're really not supposed to move around much. Once you get relaxed however, it's complete zen. The wave sounds and low-key music made for a perfect meditative zone. My first experience was about thirty minutes long, but you never feel rushed to leave. As Anne let me know, if you are in a great deep state and wish to stay longer, you can feel free to do so. Milwaukee Urban Acupuncture also offers other treatments such as dry needling, cupping, massage therapy and reiki. Something for everyone looking to heal in any way! I recommend you give this place a go.

I loved that I could book the appointment online, it's just so much more convenient for my work schedule to pop into a website between meetings and find a time that works for my calendar. Having the prices available on the site was also appreciated. The location was easy to find and I snagged parking right across the street, another bonus. Anne was very nice and thorough in both her forms and questions. As I wasn't actively experiencing any neck pain at the time of the appointment and never having had this treatment before, she recommended a general procedure that should also help with my lack of sleep. Her calm demeanor definitely put me at ease! I do wish the office area wasn't so cluttered with papers and random bags, it made me a tad skeptical of the firm's organizational skills and attention to detail, truth be told. While I am not afraid of needles, having sharp objects inserted into my body isn't high on my list of definitions of a good time, but the procedure was essentially painless and I was able to relax a bit while in the chair. Which brings me to my other quibble here: I was cold sitting in the chair with my pants rolled up to my knees and my shirt up to my elbows. Anne did bring me a blanket which helped a little, but not totally. She suggested I sit closer to a heater next time. While not untrue, it also wasn't particularly helpful. I think a better solution would be more heaters. All in all, I did sleep better that night and would definitely give it a try here again--but only if I can score a heater seat!
