The coconut and currant rolls have the perfect pastry wrapping. Paired with a savory codfish cake... pure food bliss!

I ordered an avocado bagel on seven grain. It was all delicious. There was lettuce and cucumber that was not listed on the menu, but that's ok. The whole thing had a lemony flavor that normally I don't like, but it went well with the other flavors. The egg was over medium, which they didn't ask me how I wanted, but I'm sure they'd change it if you asked. They were very responsive, polite, and quick.

The setup is a little different from a full-service restaurant. You order at the counter, let the staff know if you're dining in or getting your order to go. If dining in, then find a table and wait for your name to be called. If you're seated farther away, they'll usually bring your food to you. For drinks, it's best to stay near the baristas towards the front of the store since those are typically called out separately. I ordered the Madeline omelette without the jalapeños. It was good overall but it could have used a little more salt. I also tried the matcha latte (which tasted a bit too milky) and I had to add extra sweetener, so I'd probably try a different drink next time. The pastries, especially the apple strudel and Boston cream donut, were both really good. Highly recommend the apple strudel.

The cases are lined with every type of cookie you could imagine and they have a plethora of pastries to choose from. They have Italian staples like 7 layer cookies, sprinkle cookies and jelly sandwich cookies. With all the different types of cakes and cannoli's it's hard to pick a favorite. When you walk into the store it feels like you've stepped back in time. It always smells like there is something amazing baking in the back. Keep in mind it's cash only but there is an ATM in the store. Staff is fast and friendly (as friendly as New Yorkers can get).

On a recent visit to see a relative, I had to stop by and grab some, and I'm thrilled to say they're just as amazing as I remember. While so many things have changed for the worse since the pandemic, their cookies remain the best; rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth it. My only regret? Not buying more! Ambiance; when you walk in there are cakes and cookies everywhere making it hard to stay focus A few tips: They're CASH ONLY, so come prepared. The service was fine, but there's no seating area, so plan to enjoy your treats elsewhere. Trust me, these cookies are worth it!
