This review is long overdue. Brucee's is my go to spot EVERY Saturday morning around 8am for my white butter bread, chicken patties and beef patties. You will get the best FLAVOR AND MOIST bread and patties at Brucee's. It's a small spot and can get packed quickly, so the earlier you go the better (they open at 7am everyday. They also sell other baked goods cakes, current rolls etc. The prices are the best you'll find in Brooklyn along with the quality of food. The bakery is always clean and smells of the good baked goods EVERYTIME. The ladies at the front are always a joy to see and make sure you get in and out . I will always be a customer of brucee's for their great quality foods and customer service. If your ever in Brooklyn and love carribean baked goods Brucee's is definitely the place to go . read more

Eh! I use to go to Brucee's alllll the time back in the day. I was driving pass this place the other day and decided to stop in to get a patty and cocoa bread. I remembered the patty's being amazing. But this time it was just Eh. The patty to me tasted sour, but I did appreciate that they had real chicken inside. I should of got the veggie patty which is REALLY good. I'll try a different patty next time and see if they can redeem themselves. read more

Yeah, they got Patties. But actually that's just a small part of their offerings. It's mostly a temple of baked goods: cookies, cakes, cupcakes, pies. I stopped in to get a treat for my niece who was at the nearby hospital and ended up chomping down a giant slice of strudel. It's clean, bright and fresh though it also has kind of a retro 50s feel. They have officially won my informal beef Pattie contest. And not for the beef. I am in love with their chicken Pattie, no cocoa- bread needed. There are actual chunks of well seasoned chicken in this beautiful baked goodness. I was do glad when I got a nice piece of chicken in my bite. It put the grinded mush, I have had from other establishments to shame. I usually order their cocktail patties for any major event I am hosting, and they go over extremely well. I also appreciate their customer service, the woman are usually pleasant with smiles on their face. Yeah at times line can be long, but knowing I am going home with that Pattie and occasional Jamaican pineapple soda makes it worthwhile. My plan was to check out this other west Indian restaurant in the area but since I love beef patties I checked out this spot. I think the sign outside that said $2.99 chicken, rice n peas lunch special might have lured me in as well. Lol It was lunchtime so I was patient when I saw the line that moved fairly slow. The staff seemed friendly enough. What amazed me about this restaurant/store was the amount of variety items they sold from baked sweet goods, bread and many more. I ordered the lunch special and a beef patty. I was really impressed with the patty and wished I had ordered the chicken patty too. I usually eat my patties with coco bread but this patty was seasoned so nice I didn't miss the bread. The lunch special came in a mini container full to the rim with rice and peas and a tasty piece of chicken at the bottom. The mini and inexpensive meal was on point and hit the spot. They have that one old lady that works in the morning with the mole on her face. She has a stink ass attitude. i use to like coming here but when that lady is there i hate it. She never opens up the place in the morning and have people standing at the door looking stupid. patties are dry as hell. staff is half educated with no customer service stills. The workers come in and out the place walking through customers without saying excuse me. this business wont last long unless they change the way they treat people. read more

Best Fresh or Frozen Chcken Patty in NYC/Brooklyn hands down. I don't eat beef so I can't comment on taste but everyone I get them for loves them. They also have the best Fish, Vegetable & Ackee patty. Patty Crust taste just as great as the original Tastees Patty from Jamaica, like they stole the recipe or kidnapped one of its top bakers. They have other pastries that are also delicious & so is their bread. Pastries are always fresh. this place use to be called Tastees but they changed the name, I suspect out of conflict with another NY Based Jamaican bakery chain with the name. They have a jerk chicken meal special call bruk (Broke) pocket for $3 that consistently taste about average but for the price it is more than great. They also sell boxes of frozen patty for about $6 per box, whenever I am in Brooklyn, I stop there to get some but they usually run out of frozen patties very very quickly. I was driving down Church Avenue and came across The Original Bruce's Patties. As soon as I seen the store front I remembered viewing it on Yelp and Google as one of the best patty spots in Brooklyn. I immediately parked my car and headed in to what was a small establishment fluttered with specialty baked goods and the smell of fresh dough. I waited on a fairly short line until I was asked to step up next for what I wanted to order. The staff is very friendly and smile genuinely. I kindly told the server that I wanted a chicken patty and as soon as she asked me how many I thought to myself these are going to taste good. I ordered one chicken patty since it was my first time eating there. As soon as I got back to my car I bit into what was a nice crust with a chunk of real white meat chicken. The flavor was similar to white meat spicy chicken soup. I must say though I wasn't wowed by the chicken patty being that it was just okay. There was more flaky crust than meat and it was a bit dry. I am assuming the patties were out since morning being that it was around 3pm when I ordered. Would I get it again? Yes, but I would definitely try to get one while it is fresh. I do think there are plenty more restaurants that offer better tasting quality patties with freshness. read more
