Over the last year I've been to at least half a dozen shooting ranges and Appalachian Gun and Pawn…read morerange is by far the best. They have 5 pistol ranges (up to 25 yards) and 5 rifle ranges (up to 50 yards). Both inside and next to each other if you want to bring both. All ranges have state of the art computer driven touch pads that give you just about and condition you want to practice in. Very well maintained with plenty of lighting all the way down the range. It makes your visit much more enjoyable when the staff is friendly and helpful. Not to mention all the customers are willing to talk with you and share helpful tips. Also they have multiple target variations all are extremely reasonable. So after all this, the thing I like most is they are extremely safety conscious, as am I and the guys I shoot with. No goofing off, no breaking any safety rules or you will be immediately escorted out! They have plenty of cameras to ensure all are safe. We try and go about every other week when we're all in town. Always a safe fun experience. Now if I can just get rid of this low and to the left of the target problem I have, all will be good. Lol.

On a whim, I decided to look up what a new firing block for this model would be. Sure enough, it matched exactly what the gunsmith had told me. So not only did he know this off the top of his head, which speaks to his knowledge, but he was willing to double check and correct himself if he was misquoting me, which speaks to his integrity. I've bought ammo from this store before and have the utmost faith the rest of the staff is of the same caliber. (Get it? Caliber?) But the winning interaction was with their gunsmith. We scheduled with TANYA CAREW out of the Cumming Aquatic Center. Our child had 9 lessons before Tanya stopped showing up. On what was supposed to be day 10, she sent 6 kids home because the capillary refill at the heel was too slow meaning they were too cold and couldn't stay in the pool. The next day she text after our child's lesson was supposed to have started and said she was cancelling lessons because "they are having lessons today". Odd, as I know there are supposed to be lessons... my kid has one scheduled. She is double booking her time. I asked about make up lessons. No response. The very next day she no call no showed. Parents & their kids were showing up all morning and being told no one had seen the instructor. The next day of lessons, a text came in mid-morning saying she wasn't feeling well. At this point we are just getting scammed. ISR has been contacted and we requested a refund but each instructor is an independent contractor so their hands are tied. They can't do anything. TANYA CAREW finally answered us 5 days later saying ISR has a strict no refund policy and she wouldn't be refunding us. She again gave no options for rescheduling, making up lessons missed or refunding us for the time our child wasn't in the pool. She referred us to a different instructor and stated she wouldn't be paying her either so we would have to fork out another $1,000 to get our child started with them. I have heard positive feedback from other co workers and parents who put their children through ISR in Buckhead but I would steer very clear of Tanya and Cumming.

A spread of recreated buildings outside offers opportunities for perusal. The most aesthetically distinctive site is a large spring of the sort that seem more common in Kentucky than Tennessee, which evinces a robust blue color and empties into a clear stream. The spring itself is off-limits, but the stream is open for wading. All of these sites are within sight of the initial entrance, but a trek uphill reveals picnic areas, an amphitheater, and a couple of mile trail through the woods. Between the different elements of the park, it was easy to spend a couple of hours there, and best of all, it's free, though the gift shop warrants examination.

Historically, it's really interesting that this was the last meeting site for the Cherokee tribe's council. The signs claim it is "where the Trail of Tears really began." I was really intrigued by the natural Spring called "the Blue Hole." I've never seen a spring that appears bright blue in a forest setting. Seeing this cool natural sight was pretty awesome. Also, I could just imagine the Cherokee using this spring water and being here hundreds of years before. Trail wise: Pretty flat and easy trails. It's not very challenging. But, it makes up for it because it's a calm place with beautiful forest. I loved walking around. Also, since this is small and off the beaten path, it's not crowded at all. Overall: highly recommended. Worth a visit!

There were lots of things that could have been told to us while we were in line buying our tickets but instead we had an employee who screamed and yelled while we waited. I hate to say we waited longer than the actual ride took but we did. On that note, if you enjoyed your first ride they will let you go a second time for 1/2 off the price. But we got on the coaster, got buckled in and told to hold on to the handle bars. Given quick instructions (push forward to go, pull back to slow down) and up the mountain we went. During the ride they do take a picture so remember to smile! Was it fun, it was . . . However we need to extend the track and make it a little longer.

Stay away from this place. The younger guy who claims to be the owner is extremely rude and customer unfriendly. Paid over $100 to shoot 100 clays each with my sons for two hours. When we checked back in...this guy wanted to claim we shot 200 clays each and charge us another $100. Six hundred clays in two hours???? Is this guy serious or just a complete moron. Even the yound lady waiting on customers thought he was out of line. Not good customer service to claim your customers are liars. An apology is certainly in order. If you do go, make sure you check the clay counter on the meter issued...otherwise, it will be your problem. They NEVER make a mistake. As for me, there are other places to do business. This experience was so bad...I am going to make sure every review site I can find has this post to warn customers. If I can sway even one customer, it will be satisfaction for the poor treatment at Etowah Valley Sporting Clays. read more

We got to GunSmoke with the intention of just looking in the store, looking at the guns and finding out more about the shooting range. There was no right wing branded signs everywhere, the people were super friendly and nice. We told them that we had never really shot handguns, but grew up hunting and using different guns with our dad but we have been wanting to find a shooting range to shoot at. They were so kind and friendly, they told us we could shoot that very day if we wanted and they showed us everything we needed to know about shooting a handgun, where the safety was, how to load the gun, how to hold our hands, how to stand, it made us feel like our dad was there with us. We felt so comfortable we ended up shooting for over an hour. Their prices are some of the best we have found anywhere and we have done our research. They let you rent guns you want to try there. So even though it's a little over an hour away from our house, we loved it and will be back regularly. Thank you GUNSMOKE for giving us this safe place to shoot and feel closer to our dad even though he isn't still here with us.
