After going to a dozen Woods Coffee locations over the past 3 years I've consistently received horrible tasting coffee and lattes. I've walked out the door and thrown a full drink in the trash more times than I can count on two hands. My wife says it's about 50/50 for her. I can also say other than one location at Boulevard Park I can walk in and order instantly at any of the other locations--either never a line or one person finishing up with their order. Not at other brands. Either baristas are not trained well to follow recipes or the recipes are junk. Well, even black coffee tastes bitter. Perhaps it's old. Three different types of drinks at dozens of locations and only 1 or 2 taste drinkable. Done. Not coming back to waste any more money. read more

I'm not generally a coffee shop kind of person, but sometimes when I'm visiting family in Lynden, I need to get away by myself for a bit and read a book and stay warm. Side note: my mother keeps her house ice cold all throughout winter and one can only huddle under so many blankets until one needs to come up for air every now and then. So this Woods is right next to her house and makes an ideal location to kick back for a while. A couple of leather love seats flank a beautiful fireplace, and cozy seating areas surround the entire room. The service has always been exceptionally friendly and on-top-of-things, generally always with a great smile. The baked goods always look amazing and I can personally attest to the fact that their pumpkin-shaped, orange-crystal-dusted, sugar cookies are super fabulous. And huge. The tummy ache I had after eating a whole one so soon after breakfast was totally worth it. Eat through the pain, man, eat through the pain! All in all, a great place to hang out for a bit and enjoy a good book, I'd say. read more

I ordered the White Chocolate Mocha, and A Bear Claw "better than StarBucks hand down!". The Bartsia helped me cause I was at a blur at what I wanted, I just asked "what's good with a Bear Claw" Bam! But they also do sandwiches, and other delicious pastries. I will definitely will be returning to this location in Lynden. Today was the last time I will spend a dime at Woods. Went with a friend of mine and told the young lady at the drive thru that I had two separate orders, seemed pleasant enough, accommodating even. Placed order no problem, same as I do every time I go. Get to the front and the girl seemed nice enough, paid for the first order and she tried to send us off. She didnt seem as friendly after that. When I told her I had the other order as well. she huffed and turned to look at the register. Made me feel that placing two separate orders was putting her out, even though my friend has to pay for his own order. He never tips but I always tip enough for both of us. So the young lady behind the counter finds my order, which was four drinks, and starts handing them to me. Didnt offer a carrier. When I asked for one she actually rolled her eyes at me. My friend is unable to carry more than his drink and I cannot carry 4 while driving and I had another friends drinks for his lunch in my drink holders. I was taken aback that she huffed and rolled her eyes at me. I thought maybe I was seeing things but my friend noticed too and asked me if she rolled her eyes and seemed to get upset at me asking for a carrier. This is the first time I didnt tip. I felt I had rude service. She then told me she had to wait for my 4th drink where she then closed the windiw and turned her back on us. She didnt close it for the car in front of us, but did for us. Made me feel disrespected. The coffee is good but not good enough for me to be treated like that when I am paying for it. If I wanted attitude I can stay home and drink the coffee there. read more

I'm new in Washington and find Wood's to be so much better in every way than Starbucks. The cozy atmosphere with sofas and a fireplace give it the icing on the cake. Generally decent service. However, that's the only decent part. The business itself butts its way into local politics across Whatcom County (sometimes even with its religion), which I find extremely unprofessional and distasteful. If you're there for a drip coffee, be ready for a good, warm cup of coffee-scented tea (unless you pay extra for a special blend), cause that's about as strong as it seems to get. Their mixed drinks are a little on the sweet end, so expect a sugar rush along with a hint of coffee. Luckily, they stopped burning it, after apparently switching to roasting their own blends, so that's a nice feeling of security. They offer more milk substitutes than any Starbucks, though, so I suppose that's why I'm giving it an extra star. Otherwise, the coffee is decent, but I'd say not worth the price. Certainly worth a visit if you're given a gift card, or invited on a date/meeting. read more

Very good coffee, delicious muffins, cakes, rolls, scones, sandwiches, yogurt, veggie boxes etc. Woods recently baked up the most wonderful cinnamon roll I have ever had at any establishment. Move over Cinnabon. These rolls are perfect - flavorful, moist and not too sweet. Divine, really. Woods did have a 'cinnamon mountain' type bun and it was very very good, but I am impressed by the roll. I do hope they keep it. It surpassed my expectations and it was heavenly with my cup of Brown Bear coffee in a mug. The only drawback is the wait! Most everytime I have gone to this location i have had to wait in line to order for 5-8 minutes. The girls there are always quick to say 'Thank you for waiting' which is nice, but still. Anyway, all is forgotten once you have a great cup of coffee and the cinnamon roll or raspberry white chocolate scone. read more

This was a super cute coffee shop! I'd never heard of it and didn't realize that it was a chain. I stopped in on the way home from an event in Lynden. The building is adorable. I got a vanilla chai latte and a veggie breakfast wrap. The chai had the perfect amount of vanilla, whereas many places add too much (making it too sweet), or add so little that you can't taste it. The wrap was pretty good too. I was surprised to find some decent food from a coffee stand drive thru. This place is definitely better than Starbucks, so I hope they add some more down further south. The only critique that I have was that both items were too hot to drink and eat right away. read more

Although, there is one girl at the Fairway location that is so so sweet! This Woods was always my favourite, but the past few months they seem to think that filling up your cup is optional. I'm usually going through really early, and half asleep, and never drink my coffee right away. I let it cool a little, so I never notice til I'm almost at work that it's half empty. I really try not to be a nitpicker, but when you are paying $4-$5 for a latte, I am of the firm belief that there shouldn't be 2 inches of nothing at the top of the cup. Woods Coffee is a great local coffee shop (preferred over the national brands any day of the week). This location in particular is one of my favorites (second only to Boulevard Park!). I work just down the street a few days a week and make the walk to this Woods on average twice a day! The Baristas are wonderful, service is quick, Speedbean is awesome, and with corporate headquarters and the new Woods Bakery just across the street, this location is known to have some special bakery treats being tested, that aren't to be found at any other location! If you haven't been to this Woods, check it out, enjoy the fireplace and WiFi, and the other great local shops at the Fairway Shopping Center as well! read more

As posted in my last review I really wanted the lemon loaf back, and it was back! Yay!.... Except not... It was the thinnest piece of lemon loaf I've ever seen, it was an end piece it was completely dried out and disgusting. The "icing" on top was more like hard flakey plastic nothing like the old icing you used to use. I was so disappointed I wasted almost three dollars on this flimsy piece of grossness... This Woods Coffee is the worst store I have ever been too.Every time I go in there my order is wrong or you have to repeat or order over the speaker. I ordered a sugar free mocha and left and got 3 blocks away and it was not sugar free. Being short on time I could not go back and return it. Being diabetic I could not drink it. On my way back thru town I stopped to get another coffee and explained the circumstances to the barista and she said I should have came back and took care of it then and she would not give me a credit or my next drink at no charge. Really like one free drink would bankrupt Woods Coffee Company!! Last time for me supporting that organization. They should take some lessons from Dutch Bros on customer service!!! read more

Atmosphere is great, and the baristas are so friendly! The coffee is also delicious; however, I found the cold brew wanting. I love a good, thick cold brew, but mine arrived watered down and nearly flavorless. My recommendation: ask for no ice, or skip the cold brew altogether. read more

I have only been to the drive through at this location, and am eager to spend some time in the coffee shop based on other reviews I have read. I'm sure they are consistent with the other Woods Coffee locations. I have seen a lot of reviews for The Woods Coffee that attempt to compare it to Starbucks, and I will not attempt to do that because I think Woods is in an entirely different league than Starbucks. There are three things, in my opinion, that make The Woods stand above the competition. They are atmosphere, specialty drinks, and friendly customer service. I can't comment on the drip coffee because I have not tried it yet. The atmosphere varies slightly from one location to the next, but they all stay within the theme of earth-tone/modern/cabin. What I really like about The Woods its that they fit somewhere between national coffee chain and local coffee stand. This is good because they have several locations, but they don't feel like a corporate chain. I always like trying their holiday and special drinks and haven't been disappointed yet. When it comes to customer service, I've always found the baristas to be friendly and professional. My wife told them she was getting tired of the pumpkin white mocha and they offered a suggestion of something similar (brown sugar and cinnamon pumpkin latte) which was great! read more

I love their Chai Latte with a little bit of ice. So, so yummy!!! One suggestion I have is if they offered this same Chai Latte as a sugar-free drink with non fat milk. I have to watch my sugar intake, and a lower fat, no sugar version would really help me a lot. I would love it if they used stevia in the Chai Latte.
