Nice little cafe. It was busy when we arrived but we found a seat. Service was slow but they were friendly. Loved the latte and earl grey scone. Wasn't a big fan of the cheddar and herb scone; was too dry for me. Seats weren't very comfortable but it's a cute little rustic cafe and I am glad they opened a location in Langley because I love everything about it! Our go-to spot for delicious coffee and pastries when trekking between Harrison Hot Springs and Vancouver. The most tender cinnamon roll I've ever had! They have GF options, perfect choc. chip cookie, a creamy chai, and coffee that my honey loves--what else do you need? I wanted to go to Oldhand since I went to Foxglove, and I am very glad I did. The interior looked pretty modern a straightforward with some antiquated décor here and there. They had plenty of their merchandise all over the café, such as cider, wine and coffee beans. The service was commendable and offered some additives for my order choices. The first thing I ordered were a Cappuccino and a Chicken & Caesar Club sandwich. The sandwich was very good with how the fresh and salted the pretzel bread was. The meats and dressing in the sandwich were very scrumptious as well. The cappuccino was fine on its own but tasted better with some added sugar. Next I had the Cinnamon Bun with the Latcha Latte. The bun was fresh, moist and delicious and it did not need to be warmed up to bring out its flavour. The matcha latte was pretty interesting since I never had it before. Lastly, I had the Morning Glory Muffin, and it was nutritious and tasty at the same time. Overall, this is a great café to have breakfast, lunch or even a small snack between meals. My only regret is that I did not come to the Oldhand sooner. I look forward to coming back there. read more

I came in today and wanted a matcha. The price on the board was $4.20 for a 12oz iced. I ordered it but then price charged to me said $5.70. I asked what the extra charges were and apparently the matcha prices start at $5 for an 8oz so I was charged 70 cents for the upgrade. This is not what was on the board and is $1.50 more. Then I said i just wanted an 8oz then (still $0.80 more than displayed) and they said there is no iced version of 8oz, which was also not displayed anywhere either. I eventually gave up and just asked for an 8oz hot and if it came with sweetener. They were going to charge me just to add some honey. Already I was annoyed that they didn't just give it to me for the price advertised, and when I got my matcha, it was filled to the brim in a mug so when I picked it up, it spilled all down my jeans. Great coffee in Abbotsford is hard to find but this little shop down by the 5 intersecting roads is just perfect. My go to is a Cortado and sometimes you will get a blank stare if you ask a barista to make one but this one is 'chefs kiss'. My mum prefers the flat white and it also didn't disappoint. She also proclaims their salted chocolate chunk cookie as good as mine (which is secretly David Leites NYT recipe from way back) Scones were delicious and if you go on the weekend they have different pastries just for weekends. Earl grey snickerdoodle cookie: unfortunately I was just getting over a cold when I tried this, but there was a faint taste of earl grey, so I really did like what I could taste. If I were to be in that area again, I'd get this again. Chocolate ganache torte: this was just okay. Most of the flavour (what I could taste) came from the frosting on top. Wouldn't bother with this. Overall, I liked the space, but considering how busy it was, they could use more seating! read more

It's a sugar cookie, chewy and soft with distinct earl grey notes and the vanilla glaze on top adds the perfect sweetness. Went really well with their iced mocha! The ambience inside is very nice and bright. Lots of plants around. Restrooms were clean. I would definitely come here more to work/study or spend free time if I was in the area. I live In Langley so every time I am in Abbotsford I try to stop in to this little cafe! I have spent some time in Europe and every time I am at Oldhand I am reminded of the old world charm of the little cafes we visited. Our top choices are definitely Earl Grey Snickerdoodles Brown Butter and Coconut Cookies And at Easter the have the best Paska Bread I love the mix matched old school dishes and each time I get my cappuccino I am greeted with some coffee art the makes me smile! The Chai Tea Latte is so good...has slight floral notes that make it so unique! These guys have done such a great job...the young entrepreneurs of Abbotsford collaborate so well with each other. From the farms to the cafes and breweries...all promoting each other and supporting each other's businesses. Love their presence in the community and how they tell their story on Social Media! I haven't tried their doughnuts yet...but the pictures look yummy! read more

Passing through Abbotsford, we discovered Oldhand and wanted to check it out. Super cute place, very cozy and chic and quirky decor. There is lots of seating and communal workspace, and still feeling spacious. The London Fog was one of the best ones we've had. The baked goods were tasty as well. The coffee here was delicious and had great presentation coming in a little beaker like container to pour into a nice pottery mug. We also ate the pretzel with a delicious spicy mustard and a charcuterie board that was a snack and a half for two people with lots of fresh bread, pesto, hummus, candied nuts, pickle slices, corned beef and two types of cheese. Enjoyed a lovely coffee date with some girlfriends in my hometown. Oldhand Coffee is the top spot when searching for 'coffee' in Abbotsford, so I had to try. Super cute cafe! We ended up staying there chit chatting for almost 3 hours. I got a Flat White with a Blueberry Scone with Earl Grey Glaze, which I thoroughly enjoyed (since I love everything Earl Grey). My girlfriends got sandwiches but they found the bread to be hard and difficult to bite into, which was disappointing. May be a good idea to just stick with the coffee and pastries. My partner and I just love this Cafe! We just moved to the other side of town so sadly can't make it in as often as we'd like. We try to start our weekends off here if we can. The baking is amazing and just the best coffee around. It can be hard to find a consistently good cup of coffee in Abbotsford. I usually opt for an almond milk cortado and the gf amaretti cookie. The cafe has a lovely and cozy ambiance, something we really missed when moving from Mount Pleasant to Abby. They also have a pretty sweet little shelf of carefully selected wines we've found great for gift giving. Highly recommend! read more

arrived here on an early sunday morning and the aroma of warm butter and sugar filled the shop. they have limited pastry options but they are made with quality and real ingredients. the cinnamon twist was the tastiest of the three items we ordered-the filling in the handmade apple pie was good but the crust was a bit dense and doughy for my taste. the blueberry "muffin/scone" (not sure what it is) was very interesting, not sure if it a good or weird way. during my initial first bite, it tasted like a croissant and then transformed into a pound cake with a crunch that confused my taste buds because it then tasted like a muffin. staff was friendly, clean establishment and coffee/espresso was nice. the shop is very quaint and lovely. read more

Earl grey snickerdoodle 4.5/5 - the icing was made beautifully. It wasn't too creamy and tasted like earl grey. It complimented the cookie well. Green onion savory scone 3/5 - it's huge! It was good but I'm just not a huge fan of savory scones Blueberry scone 4/5 - fresh and it tasted like it was made with real butter and blueberries. Note: they serve liquor! This place is a gem. Their coffee is really tasty. I'm a bit of a coffee aficionado. I don't like anything fancy. Just black drip or an Americano. I've had both and they have been excellent. The food is of the inflated Pinterest coffee shop price, but is presented well and tastes very fresh. I had the chicken and bacon sandwich last time and I was happily satiated. I actually spent multiple hours in here while waiting to do some work in the area. It was steadily busy, but no one bothered me to move along. It was a really comfortable place to get some work done and their wifi was speedy. Overall I would recommend this place to get some work done or enjoy a chat with friends. Great pretzels and made in-house mustard is worth the visit. However, being told more than once that they are closing is distracting when you are trying to order, and also when you are trying to enjoy what you ordered. Making customers feel rushed by sweeping, cleaning and clearing really makes you feel rushed like they want you to leave right now. Superb!!! 1st discovered Old Hand at their previous location. The new space is an improvement in terms of both space & parking though, because of their popularity, the café can be pleasantly crowded. (While a diverse crowd - "the Hipsters" definitely do like this joint.) This is not for the "coffee-on-the-go crowd". The excellent flavour of Old Hand coffee is best appreciated savoured slow, sitting down with a good friend or a book. Their savoury baking is exceptional as are their sweet baked goods. The staff are always polite, friendly, and efficient. The owners have sought to "honour European traditions of nurturing social bonds through the enjoyment of artfully prepared food and drink". They have definitely hit the mark. If you appreciate exceptional coffee & tasty baked goods - go - you will not be disappointed. read more
