Pastry case 6/22/24...the choc chip cookie and cinnamon roll a must!
    April S.

Our go-to spot for delicious coffee and pastries when trekking between Harrison Hot Springs and Vancouver. The most tender cinnamon roll I've ever had! They have GF options, perfect choc. chip cookie, a creamy chai, and coffee that my honey loves--what else do you need? Parking can be sparse so you may need to have a partner jump out and order while you swing around, that's the only down side to the location.

I wanted to go to Oldhand since I went to Foxglove, and I am very glad I did. The interior looked pretty modern a straightforward with some antiquated décor here and there. They had plenty of their merchandise all over the café, such as cider, wine and coffee beans. The service was commendable and offered some additives for my order choices. The first thing I ordered were a Cappuccino and a Chicken & Caesar Club sandwich. The sandwich was very good with how the fresh and salted the pretzel bread was. The meats and dressing in the sandwich were very scrumptious as well. The cappuccino was fine on its own but tasted better with some added sugar. Next I had the Cinnamon Bun with the Latcha Latte. The bun was fresh, moist and delicious and it did not need to be warmed up to bring out its flavour. The matcha latte was pretty interesting since I never had it before. Lastly, I had the Morning Glory Muffin, and it was nutritious and tasty at the same time. Overall, this is a great café to have breakfast, lunch or even a small snack between meals. My only regret is that I did not come to the Oldhand sooner. I look forward to coming back there.

4 stars pour over Ethiopia coffe. Very bright and spice. 5 carrot cake. Crust outside and very moist inside. The frosting is amazingly good. Total $11. Kind of pricy.

Pretty solid. Got the beetroot latte (liked this; pretty pink presentation). Would get again! Earl grey snickerdoodle cookie: unfortunately I was just getting over a cold when I tried this, but there was a faint taste of earl grey, so I really did like what I could taste. If I were to be in that area again, I'd get this again. Chocolate ganache torte: this was just okay. Most of the flavour (what I could taste) came from the frosting on top. Wouldn't bother with this. Overall, I liked the space, but considering how busy it was, they could use more seating!

A cute, modern, bright cafe with delicious baked goods and coffee. I tried the Earl Grey Snickerdoodle, which is their best selling cookie, and it was very yummy. It's a sugar cookie, chewy and soft with distinct earl grey notes and the vanilla glaze on top adds the perfect sweetness. Went really well with their iced mocha! The ambience inside is very nice and bright. Lots of plants around. Restrooms were clean. I would definitely come here more to work/study or spend free time if I was in the area. They also have great wifi!

Haha I love the "Mother" mug!

I live In Langley so every time I am in Abbotsford I try to stop in to this little cafe! I have spent some time in Europe and every time I am at Oldhand I am reminded of the old world charm of the little cafes we visited. Our top choices are definitely Earl Grey Snickerdoodles Brown Butter and Coconut Cookies And at Easter the have the best Paska Bread I love the mix matched old school dishes and each time I get my cappuccino I am greeted with some coffee art the makes me smile! The Chai Tea Latte is so good...has slight floral notes that make it so unique! These guys have done such a great job...the young entrepreneurs of Abbotsford collaborate so well with each other. From the farms to the cafes and breweries...all promoting each other and supporting each other's businesses. Love their presence in the community and how they tell their story on Social Media! I haven't tried their doughnuts yet...but the pictures look yummy!

Latte & berry lemon crisp. Not in photo - but highly recommended the pumpkin chai snickerdoodle!

Took a while to figure out which baked item was going to be 'The One' - what an amazing selection. And the coffee was perfect! Full flavour. NOT bitter. Loved every drop. Kept thinking about how good it was, I went back for a second cup a few hours later.

Nice spot for a coffee. Modern and spacious, outfitted with recycled furniture i.e. old school chairs; I think I was sitting on a church pew :D. Not very comfy, but clean and simple. Small selection of baked goods. They have nitro coffee if you're into that. Staff was friendly and helpful.

    Coffee! Served in a beaker!

The coffee here was delicious and had great presentation coming in a little beaker like container to pour into a nice pottery mug. We also ate the pretzel with a delicious spicy mustard and a charcuterie board that was a snack and a half for two people with lots of fresh bread, pesto, hummus, candied nuts, pickle slices, corned beef and two types of cheese. I love wandering into local cafes and this one certainly did not disappoint.

They have specialty coffees, such as lattes and caramel macchiatos. When I ordered their Drip Coffee, the staff member prepared it fresh and upon request with the option of cream and/or sugar. The coffee was near perfection in taste. I also ordered the following pastries: Red Velvet Cake, Nutella Doughnut, Sugar Stuffed Heart Cookie and the Chai Latte Doughnut. The red velvet cake is very delicious with fondant being incredibly flavorful. The cookie was okay if not a little hard with the cream filling being pretty good. The Nutella doughnut tasted great while the Chai Latte Doughnut had good subtle flavours and not being too overly sweet. I enjoyed their doughnuts so much that I bought some of the ones I have yet to try to go. The young woman working at Zilla's was very nice and professional with her work. I hope to come back to this place again soon and try more different Doughnut creations.

When I went there, however, I was a little disappointed that it was not as extravagant as I was hoping. Their choices in baked goods were very scarce. When I arrived there I found out that they do not serve their breakfast/lunch menu, but instead the daily special advertisement from their indoor sign. I ordered the Mozzarella & Caramelized Onions Focaccia bread and their cappuccino. The focaccia was great with the caramelized onions adding succulence and flavour that stood out. The cappuccino was good, nothing special though. I also had their Almond Butter cake, which was good as well if not a little solid to eat. There was not much to talk about the interior ambiance of the café and there was not much space inside, unless you go to the back of the café. The staff was very courteous in serving me and has a good deal of knowledge about their business. My experience at the Duft & Co Bakehouse was pretty good, and I would like to give them another try. However, it will be a while because of their obscured business hours would be hard for me to come around.

I've been dying to try this bakery for awhile and each time I have failed and it's no one's fault but mine since they were either sold out or I came on a day they were closed. So this day I planned ahead. I got there ten minutes before opening which always makes me feel awkward but a line was already formed outside. Once they opened you go in and are greeted with a wide array of pastries and baked goods. I picked quite a few but will say that I'm biased as I went to pastry school and well this was the best croissant I've ever had. It was flaky on the outside and nice and buttery on the inside. You can tell that they worked hard on these and laminated them perfectly. The coffee was good too but the pastries stole the show and I will be back.
