I initially booked an appt with the endodontist that he recommended, but after looking on Yelp, I decided to cancel. Based on the 5 star reviews on Yelp, I made an appt at Arlington Endodontics. They have incredible equipment that takes very detailed images that show much more than what my dentist could see on an x ray. After examining the scans and images and doing some diagnostic tests, Dr. Eslinger told me that there's a good chance that my tooth is beyond needing a root canal. He gave me the option to continue or have it extracted elsewhere. Talk about honesty and integrity!! I think most dentists would have just done it and taken my money with no regard for the final outcome. Additionally, the staff was so kind and friendly. If I ever do need a root canal, I know where I am going.

After looking at my x-rays and doing some diagnostic "tests" it turns out that's exactly what I needed. So last month I had my first ever root canal. I was a little leery because I have always heard that root canals are very painful, but I'm happy to say that Dr. Eslinger made the process painless. The price was reasonable and I had no issues or after effects from the procedure. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, kind, and caring. I even received a call after the root canal to make sure I was going well and didn't have any problems or unanswered questions. I highly recommend Arlington Endodonics.

This review is a little late, but here it goes:…read more Around Thanksgiving I had noticed that a 6 yr. old crown was becoming discolored at the base, near my gum line. Subsequently I was experiencing some slight pain deep within tooth, noticeable every once in awhile. Due to a the occasional pain, my dentist suggested I visit the Endo and get their expert opinion before he put a brand new crown on a tooth; a tooth that possibly needed another root canal. My dentist gave me a referral to Park Ridge Endodontics I easily made an appointment at PR Endodontics. I arrived at my first appointment with my referral slip . Dr. C. asked me what was going on, examined the tooth and performed some tests, as well as more in-depth X-rays; X-rays my dentist couldn't provide. She did notice an area deep in my canal that needed to be retreated. She gave me several treatment options (pulling the tooth, leaving the tooth alone and doing nothing or root canal therapy). I chose the option that allowed me to keep my tooth intact. I made another appointment so that I could return for the root canal procedure several weeks later. Dr. C. cleaned and retreated my problem area and I was in and out of the office in no time. My tooth has been perfect ever since my visit with her. She was very kind, smart and explained what she was doing during the procedure. My treatment was taken care of in one visit and I was able to return to my general dentist for a new crown several weeks after. All my visits were done between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I really appreciated that. I was blessed with great dental coverage, so what I paid out-of-pocket was nominal in my opinion. I appreciated the reminder text messages about upcoming appointments. Super clean treatment areas and an inviting reception area. Friendly office staff. They answered my insurance questions with no trouble. Saturday hours! I've since moved away from the NW 'burbs, but I highly recommend PR Endodontics to family and friends still in the area.

I ended up getting a root canal the same day as my consult. This was great for my procedure anxiety and helped save time and money on office visits. The procedure itself: a dream experience compared to the root canal I had a few years ago at a different office. Dr. Gilbert was in favor of me listening to my book with headphones to help me be comfortable. He clearly relayed info as needed and was very receptive to my hand signals if I needed anything. The best part? Half an hour! No crown! No pain! My other half didn't believe it could be done so well and so quickly. He's just a pro! If you need anything done within the world of dentistry, come here first to see if Dr. Gilbert and his team can take of it for you. I'm very impressed!

The bridge was old and vulnerable, I was worried and asked Dr Gilbert if he could do the root canal surgery by going through my gum instead of the teeth in the bridge. That is exactly what he did, a very intensive procedure he handled with total precision. I felt no pain at any time. The doctor even had the latest equipment to control the speed/flow of my Novocaine injections so they would not hurt. After the procedure and stitches, I followed Dr Gilbert's advice and am experiencing a remarkable recovery. His staff and assistants are a pleasure to meet and work with whenever you are there. Dr Gilbert's skills are beyond masterful, so I do recommend you go to him. Plus, he is a very nice and happy man who really cares about his patients!

I was referred to Dr. Jonathan Wong in Schaumburg by my primary dentist due to a painful issue with…read moreone of my teeth. During my visit, Dr. Wong reviewed the tooth in question and, based on his X-rays, informed me that I had an infection. He told me that, because I am 52 years old, I would likely feel pain, and that "no patient likes to pay , feel pain or to loose a tooth" He said I needed to decide whether to extract the tooth or proceed with an **apicoectomy molar procedure**. He added that if I waited too long, he would not be available to help me, because he would be "somewhere on a beach." He explained that during an extraction, the tooth could break, and gave some outcomes of both options. He proceeded to **remove the tooth and then place it back in**, and provided prescriptions for pain and infection. He asked me to follow up in one month. This procedure occurred on **September 12, 2025**. I took the prescribed medications as directed. On **September 30 and October 1, 2025**, I began experiencing **intense pain** in the same area. On **October 1**, I called the office and was told they would notify Dr. Wong. I was also given the option to call him directly. I called him twice but received **no response**--neither from him nor from the office. On **October 2 at 4:30 PM**, I called again and let the office know I never received a call back. They told me they would contact me again and later scheduled an appointment for **Friday, October 3, 2025 at 8:45 AM**. When I arrived at the appointment, I was told it was actually scheduled for **10:45 AM**. I waited and was eventually taken in for new X-rays. When Dr. Wong approached me, I explained I was in severe pain. He reviewed the X-ray and said he didn't see anything "major" or a "fracture" -- but added that "there could be." I didn't understand what he meant by that. At that point, Dr. Wong became visibly **impatient, rude, and raised his voice**. He told me to open my mouth, then shouted at me to "open it more" -- with **no empathy or respect**. He proceeded to drill into the tooth **without addressing my pain level**, or showing any consideration for my discomfort. I began to cry from the pain. He asked me to bite down and whether I felt any difference. I told him I couldn't tell because the pain was too severe. He became **angry**, raised his voice again, and began **belittling me in front of his assistant**, making me feel like I was **dumb** and **wasting his time**. He continued drilling aggressively, then again asked me to tap and bite. I was still in severe pain. He showed **no empathy**, despite my obvious distress. I told him I wanted the issue resolved before traveling to Ecuador on **October 21, 2025**. In response, he sarcastically said, "If you don't want to feel pain, I can just take the tooth out and you won't feel pain anymore." He pressured me to make a decision immediately -- despite the fact that I trusted him with the **apicoectomy molar procedure** to save the tooth in the first place. I was shocked at his attitude. I expected him to offer a clear plan for next steps or treatment options. Instead, I told him that **he is the professional** and I was relying on his guidance. I said I trusted his expertise. He then left the room. I was in **tears**, deeply upset by his behavior. An assistant came in to offer me water and help calm me down. When Dr. Wong returned, he said he wanted to see me again a week before my trip. He asked why I was upset and **apologized**, saying he "didn't mean to be mean." I told him I was extremely hurt by the way he treated me -- that he was **not only mean**, but **unprofessional and aggressive**. I told him I hoped never to be treated by him again. He tried to give me a **fist bump**, which I refused -- I felt it was completely inappropriate after what had just happened. His assistant came back again to offer me water and help me leave the office calmly. I left feeling completely shocked, mistreated, and disrespected -- especially while enduring intense pain and trusting him for care.
