From the moment I walked in, he took the time to understand exactly how I wanted everything to fit instead of rushing through the measurements. I brought in quite the assortment too: a Filson trucker jacket, a pair of raw denim jeans, and my Red Wing Iron Rangers. He was confident in his recommendations while still making sure the final result matched what I was looking for. You can tell Jay takes pride in his craft, and that level of experience gave me a lot of confidence leaving my favorite pieces in his hands. Customer service like his is hard to come by, and it made the entire experience enjoyable. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price. The total came out to around $340, which definitely caught me off guard. To his credit, Jay was kind enough to give me a discount on the jeans and only charged me $300 cash, which I really appreciated. Quality craftsmanship isn't cheap, and I understand you're paying for experience. If you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and treats your clothing and footwear with care, Jay is someone I'd recommend. Just be prepared for premium pricing.

Unfortunately, because they are only open during regular work hours, I wasn't able to make it on the day they said they would be ready. I came the next day at 3:30 when they supposedly close at four, but they were already closed. I came back the next week at 3:30 and again they were closed. I returned the next day on Saturday around 11 AM and again they were closed. I finally was able to pick them up three weeks later and when I arrived, I was chastised for having left my shoes there for so long despite having tried to pick them up three times already. They told that I have to come on the day they say they'll be ready for pick up which is impossible for me since I work at a 9 to 5. The WORST PART is that in addition to the difficulties of obtaining my shoes after repair, they aren't even fixed. The FIRST time I put them on the glue came undone. See photo. However, there are bits and pieces that are quite nice. I picked up a lambskin wallet for $60 and a 100% cashmere scarf made in Germany for $50. Both excellent quality and highly functional. Some of the other cashmere stuff they sell you might want to be careful with though because I noticed pilling. And some of their sweaters are 100% acrylic which is 100% hot garbage. Just exercise caution and good judgment and you should have a decent time overall!

I first learned of them while attending the Harvest Festival years ago. They also sell online. My mother fell in love with a leather purse that is a sling/backpack style. She has had the original one I purchased for her for over 10 years now and also has a couple others. The leather has held up beautifully and the owner has gladly made minor repairs to the bag. I also have a couple of pairs of his sheepskin shoes/slipper/mocassins that come up to the ankle. Other than them stretching a little over the years the sheepskin and soles holds up extremely well. Rather than give my money to Uggs I prefer to give my money to a small business in the area. Wooly Rascals deserves it.
