Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business. I took my shoes in for repair and they told me they would be ready the next week. Unfortunately, because they are only open during regular work hours, I wasn't able to make it on the day they said they would be ready. I came the next day at 3:30 when they supposedly close at four, but they were already closed. I came back the next week at 3:30 and again they were closed. I returned the next day on Saturday around 11 AM and again they were closed. I finally was able to pick them up three weeks later and when I arrived, I was chastised for having left my shoes there for so long despite having tried to pick them up three times already. They told that I have to come on the day they say they'll be ready for pick up which is impossible for me since I work at a 9 to 5. The WORST PART is that in addition to the difficulties of obtaining my shoes after repair, they aren't even fixed. The FIRST time I put them on the glue came undone. See photo. I thrifted these boots which were in serious need of repair and Jay put on new heels, replaced the inner sole, and also gave the boots a stellar shine!!! Every time I come into the shop, Jay is friendly, knowledgeable, and quality of service always exceeds expectations. He has cleaned leather coats, refitted boot shafts, and repaired purse straps for me. In the photo attached, he changed the boots from 15.5 inch shaft straight across to 13.5 inch shaft with a slit in the front (to allow for my large calves) per my request. TLDR: Do NOT bring your items here! If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought a bag which was having zipper issues (teeth would separate even when zipped, so the bag was always open) to the shop. Jay explained the issue was with the metal zipper and said they could either lubricate the zips or replace the zipper. After trying the lubrication and finding it didn't work, I opted to replace the zipper. They said they would call once ready the following week. A week passed and I received no call from them. I called multiple times, but was not able to get through. I finally just went to the shop to check in (after a week), only to be told the zipper couldn't be replaced after all, but they had fixed the issue and charged $35, despite initially saying it would be $25. That turned out to be a complete lie - the FIRST time I went to zip the bag, the teeth separated, just as they were before. Terrible service, terrible quality "repairs." read more

So they did a good job on my shoes but their hours have changed and I had the hardest time finding hours that I could pickup my items. They were either closed in the weekends or closed too early in the weekdays. It was a huge bummer as I would recommend them, but not if I can't go back easily. I hope they open back up on the weekend. They were responsive when I messaged them saying that I couldn't find a good time with my work schedule. It was about $25 to get a stain off of my black flats and heels repaired on the stilettos. read more

I have had a few things altered here and done perfectly. I spoke with them about restoring a LV bag and I had seen great reviews. It turned out to be a mess and my bag is ruined and LV can't restore now that someone else has. They painted the leather (not sure why) and glue all over the corners. I wouldn't take any luxury items here just to be safe. Edit: this was 4 years ago (put the bag away) and just took out and was compelled to review. I brought a pair of sandals in on a Wednesday that the soles had come unglued. Pretty simple I thought. Price quoted was $10 which I thought was reasonable. I was asked if I could pick up on Friday. I wasn't in a hurry so I said fine. I go in on Friday and they have trouble locating the sandals at first, then say they haven't been repaired yet. They ask if I can return in an hour. This is a very busy area and parking is difficult, but I said okay. When I returned they were ready and I was not charged. They were glued okay, but I hesitate to return with anything else if this simple a repair was handled poorly. read more

Don't trust this place with your precious/valued belongings! I brought in a pair of expensive shoes and asked for two simple things. 1. Glue/Re-seal the soles and 2. Repaint the bottom as it was discolored due to old age. I specifically pointed to areas of the shoes where he should focus on and he immediately cut me off by saying "I don't like people telling me what to do, I'll fix it to my liking, and if I like it, I know you will like it too." I didn't think too much of it, but after I left my shoes with him, something inside me immediately regretted it. I should've trusted my gut because when I picked up my shoes, I realized that he did more than what was originally asked (in a BAD WAY). He painted the front with a totally different color ruining the original color of the shoe. He also painted/touched up parts of the shoe that had natural "snake skin" shine that he covered/dulled with paint. This destroyed the integrity of the classic shoe. The worst part was that he thought he was doing me a favor...He simply didn't listen to my instructions and ruined my shoes by doing more than what was originally requested. Furthermore, he charged an arm and a leg and took a whole week to return my shoes in worst condition. Lastly, I was not even called when my shoes were ready for pick up -- I had to call myself to find out it was ready. I suggest that you listen to your customer's specific request in the future and don't try to do more than what is asked to prevent future customer dissatisfaction and disappointment. read more

This review is overdue! When my strap on my vintage hand-me-down (from mom) Louis Vuitton saddle bag broke, I was beside myself. I felt it was probably necessary to take it to an LV retailer to repair. This item has been a frequently used bag since the 1970s . During a pandemic and wanting a short term, temporary solution to a problem that I planned to permanently fix later, I called this merchant, who told me to bring it in. An hour later, it was expertly repaired for a nominal price ( I think it was $15) . The stitching matched and I purchased a quality leather moisturizer under advisement . Such great service and advice! I feel lucky to have this business in Burlingame and from now on, I shall trust them with all my shoes and purses. read more

Brought in my ASICS tennis shoes to get cleaned. The first time I came to pick them up, there were black marks all over the white leather. He apologized and tried to clean them again. They became much cleaner but still had black marks that were not there before he shampooed it. I asked to get them removed and otherwise I would need new shoes, and the wife reassured me, don't worry don't worry. Came back again, still just as dirty! Really disappointing to get the shoes back dirtier in some places than they ever were before. Don't waste your money, find a real professional. I've had the same shoes cleaned in SF without any of these issues! I was told this was my fault for how dirty the shoes were. They were not, but I guess it's easier to point fingers than to do a good job. Dear readers, here is my advice: take before and after pictures of your shoes before you go to this place, otherwise you will be blamed for their mistakes. Now I am out $30 for the cleaning and have to spend another $100 to buy these again. Thanks a lot!!! His response to me on Yelp: "I didn't do poor job your shoes was for trash I brink it back to you can use it" [sic] Funny since he told me what nice shoes they were when I brought them in, and they just had some mud on the bottom and the edges. Went here to get patches sewn on my trucker hats. They did a great job! I bought a couple patches from Oaklandish to create hats for my big ole head. I found some trucker hats off amazon that fit large headed individuals and they sewed them on for $15 a piece. It's a tough job and you need serious skills and specific sewing machines. Unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow 0 star review (or even negative) because boy howdy does this place deserve it. You don't have to read the whole review, just take a look at the pictures I posted of their work and judge for yourself. I had a rather nice Schott leather jacket, though the sleeves were about 3/4" too long. As the jacket was fairly expensive, I drove out of my way to bring it to the highest rated leather shop in the area hoping that I would pay for quality work. What I got instead was a jacket ruined by some of the worst work I have ever seen. I paid $70 (which already seemed excessive) for the sleeve shortening with a lead time of 1 week. When I picked up the jacket, the sleeves were ok in the length and everything looked good. On the car ride home, I started wondering why the right zipper didn't close all the way and it only got worse the closer I looked. 1) They sewed the stitches for the hem straight across the zipper teeth. To get the zipper to close I had to cut this thread leaving two loose threads. 2) On each sleeve the two halves that join across the zipper are different lengths. 3) The stitching is uneven across the hem giving a wavy, puckered appearance. 4) The hemmed edge on the interior is hopelessly uneven with the liner awkwardly stuffed into the cuff. The didn't use pinking shears or hem the cut edge of the liner, so there are various unraveled threads coming out from under the cuff. 5) It appears they cut the leather with dull scissors and didn't bother measuring a straight line. Thankfully it was a rather simple procedure to dispute the charge with my credit card company and I had a full refund within a day. However, I will likely have to pay far more than $70 to attempt to repair the jacket. The shop is located in a very busy commercial area in Burlingame with no dedicated parking. You can quasi-legitimately park in the Safeway lot (if it isn't completely full), but the two times I was there I saw parking patrols handing out tickets. So in conclusion, you are probably better off going somewhere else. read more

Never bring your luxury handbags to this place for cleaning, they will damage your expensive bags. I brought my 3 Gucci handbags here for cleaning but the owner also suggested painting the leather linings and I agreed, ended up the paintings were not even and they did not clean my bags but charged $110 for cleaning and painting. I asked why not cleaning, they said I did not tell them to but I did. The purpose to bring my bags to them was for cleaning in the first place, I think they were afraid to damage my bags by cleaning that's why they didn't but the still charged for the service, my bag has been damaged and unfortunately they made me pay in advance so there was nothing I could do to get my money back. read more
