Gotta love fast, low priced, quality service! I am definitely a fan of this place. When I am in the Bay Area, San Mateo to be exact this is the place drop off all my Dry Cleaning, Laundry or alterations -sometimes. The only reason I'm only giving them 4 SOLID STARS is because they charge way too much for alterations. What I Like. Fast, Affordable, Quality Service. They get it done, done right, and for a good price. And on top of that it's family owned and the lady is super friendly and remembers me, and my name. What I Kinda-Sorta Don't Like. The prices on the alterations...it's just way too much. Coming from a guy that wears suits, and jeans like everybody else...you don't want to pay a million dollars to get some jeans hemmed up. Just Saying. Tip To Owner (Yelp - Give me credit if you copy this idea please, thank you...haha) My Tip To Owner is LOWER YOUR ALTERATION PRICES. Updated: The shirts now cost $1.50 (inflation) I get my shirts laundered and pressed here for $.99, you can't beat the price (men's shirt only). It typically takes a day or two longer than other places but according to the person that helps me they own their own facilities and have less capacity. I don't get my dry cleaning done here since I'm fairly particular about my dry cleaning and found a good place (I'll write a review later on that shop). The shirts come out nicely laundered (light starch) and I like the fact that I'm helping out my local dry cleaning shop. Only 4 stars since I haven't converted my dry cleaning over to this place yet. read more

Been using family cleaners for over a decade, before the current owners. It is reasonable and good, but not overnight service. I usually wait a week. But the current owners, a nice couple go out of their way to try to help you. I had some complicated patches and lacing put on, and they did a very nice job. Am going there for another custom sewing job today. read more

Prices are reasonable, however, you get what you pay for. Typically your things will take a little longer to be cleaned (so what), but they have damaged a couple of my shirts and claimed that I gave it to them ripped in the first place. I didn't want to argue, and I am still a customer because of the price. read more

After repeatedly trying to track down the owner, he finally got back to me and told me that there was no hope to find my pants. He reimbursed me the cost of the pants. Of course, BR doesn't sell those pants any more, but oh well... they're just pants. read more

The staff here is friendly and helpful, but I received a batch of clothes back that smelled terrible - a weird wet cotton/wood smell that would not go away, no matter how long I hung the clothes out in the fresh air, used febreze, or even used Dryel. Seems odd to get clothes back from the cleaners smelling worse (much worse) then they did when they were brought in. read more

Ying Rocks! I recently took several items into Family that were not in good shape; one was a nice, but old er midi length dress coat in black that has silver threading through it, ever so slightly. I loved it but it needed repair in a few places where it had torn. They did a great job on patching it up so I could wear it again -somehow they were able to make the repair blend in very well with the fabric. Also, it was done when she said it would be. Happy with that service. Also, I took an Ivory designer evening gown that had a variety of old stains -it is hard to party in a white dress and think you will wear it again. Ying (the owner) - said she would try her best to get them all out but since they had been there a long time. She was able to get ALL of the stains out and the dress looks as good as new. I'll definitely recommend her services and will be going back often. read more

Nice owners. Gave me a nickel to feed the meter while I got measured for a hem job and made sure I fed the meter before discussing anything. For dry cleaning, careful to mark spots where stains are to ensure they are given proper attention. Great hem job on pant legs. Great price on laundered shirts. read more

They give really good service, and the prices are also cheaper than other cleaners that I've been to. They do wash and folds. Each clothing costs no more than $8.50! The location is very convenient for parking as well! read more

The dry cleaning is cheap and well done. Although it does typically take about five days for me to get my stuff done, I once needed a dress cleaned overnight once and it wasn't a problem . Edman (the owner) really knows about taking care of clothes. I came in and said one of my cashmere sweaters was stretched out, and he explained how I could launder at home to shrink it slightly. (It totally worked and saved the sweater for me.) And the day before I got married, my brother got his suit pants hemmed overnight, so props for that. read more

I love this place. The owners bend over backwards to take care of whatever I need. This includes cutting open stitching on coats, hemming and other tailoring needs, often at no charge. The prices are fair and like I said, they really try and do their best. read more

Took an expensive tuxedo shirt to them. Was given back the shirt with ring around the collar after cleaning. Then the clerk says nothing they can do. Then she says come back later in the day. When I came back it was 75% better and says it's an old shirt. They just don't know how to clean at a level of a professional cleaner nor anything about customer service. read more

I had been going to Family Cleaners for several months. I appreciated the warm greeting I received when I arrived and although there were several instances in which clothes were supposed to be ready at pick-up time and were not, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, when several articles of clothing came up missing, I began to grow frustrated. First it was a pair of pants that they insisted had not been delivered to them. Again, I didn't want to make a big deal about it and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Then when another blouse which I dropped off so as to wear for a special occasion came up missing, I knew my concerns were valid!! What was so frustrating was that the owner would not even consider that she had anything to do with it. She never asked what the blouse looked like nor what the pants looked like. Instead she continued to insist that they must be in my closet at home. I was 100 % sure that my blouse was their responsibility but was not able to verbalize this because she interrupted me and argued that it was "not my fault". I will NEVER EVER return. I don't appreciate spending money on clothes only to have them disappear. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

Really reasonable priced dry cleaners and wash and fold. The two owners are always so helpful and helps me carry my laundry bag to my car. Never had any problems with clothes - always returned in good shape. The only inconvenience is parking. read more

I think I just got scammed, but here are the facts: Big sign out front says something to the effect of "Dry Cleaning for Less" and has prices listed on numerous signs below, among them: "Comforter $18." Upon return for pickup, come to find out that it was actually $50, and the prices on the window, despite being under the big "Dry Cleaning for Less" sign, are for laundry. So they'll wash and dry your comforter for $18? Sounds steep to me. I think I smell a Bait-n-switch. Plus, they took 7 days, which is longer than the (similarly priced) higher end places downtown, and these guys only take cash. Parking is tough, too. read more
