From the moment I walked in, he took the time to understand exactly how I wanted everything to fit instead of rushing through the measurements. I brought in quite the assortment too: a Filson trucker jacket, a pair of raw denim jeans, and my Red Wing Iron Rangers. He was confident in his recommendations while still making sure the final result matched what I was looking for. You can tell Jay takes pride in his craft, and that level of experience gave me a lot of confidence leaving my favorite pieces in his hands. Customer service like his is hard to come by, and it made the entire experience enjoyable. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price. The total came out to around $340, which definitely caught me off guard. To his credit, Jay was kind enough to give me a discount on the jeans and only charged me $300 cash, which I really appreciated. Quality craftsmanship isn't cheap, and I understand you're paying for experience. If you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and treats your clothing and footwear with care, Jay is someone I'd recommend. Just be prepared for premium pricing.

I loved interacting with them, the woman very engaging personable warm and friendly. I took a dress where I needed the arms shortened by 6" and though that might not seem like such a hard task, the fabric was very fine mesh with a slip underlay--a two piece attached dress, and I was doubtful that they could pull it off. I took it in with a lot of trepidation, apprehensive that they'd tell me it couldn't be down. Well, I'll be damned if she wasn't super confident that it was not problem at all. I picked it up a week later, and voila! It was perfect, looked as good as the original with a slight flare to the fabric. They have a special machine for this type of work. I have now found my go-to place for all things dry clean or laundered or altered. They're in downtown SM and I think there's parking garage nearby if you can't get street. Prices are reasonable.

She explained that while the other two dresses could technically be altered, the fabric and fit would make it difficult to achieve a result that met her quality standards. I greatly appreciated her honesty and professionalism. Many businesses would have accepted all four dresses, but Tina was focused on delivering work she could confidently stand behind. Her transparency and commitment to quality immediately gave me confidence in her expertise. During my first visit to Tina, I brought both my dresses to try on to assess the alterations that I needed done (mostly hemming). She provided a quote at that time, and stated that payment could be made at pick-up. I found her pricing to be very reasonable given the complexity of the dresses (material and multiple layers). The two dresses she altered turned out beautifully. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the fit was exactly what I wanted. The turnaround time was about two weeks from drop-off to pickup, which I found very reasonable (especially since I had told Tina there was no rush). She clearly takes pride in her work and pays close attention to the details that make a difference. One thing to note is that English is her second language and Mandarin is her first, so there can be a bit of a language barrier. If you speak Mandarin, communication will likely be even smoother. That said, I found Tina to be thoughtful, professional, and genuinely committed to achieving the best possible result for her clients. I would definitely return for future alterations and would highly recommend Tina's Alterations to anyone looking for quality workmanship and honest, trustworthy service.

A few eateries are in this shopping center, too, which is a plus. The dryers in the building where I live were not working so I had to take my wet laundry to an area laundromat. Yelpers did not disappoint! I found this laundromat on Yelp with great reviews. The dryers are huge! My loads were dried in under 50 minutes. The washing machines looked large too, very clean. The counters are clean for folding and they have lots of carts to move your loads around from wash to dryer. The washers and dryers take both coins and credit cards. A nice man helped me turn the dryers on because he could tell I was confused, ha-ha! Swipe your card select your timing then just below the payment module is where you push the heat level and "start" button. A regular clothes load should go 45-50 minutes. $0.25 every 5 minutes. Large loads I would go to 60 minutes. There's not any seating other than a couple benches in the back near the detergent dispensers. Most peeps sit in their cars, which I did. Definitely will return if the need comes up again!

Mrs. Almasi, the owner of the shop, was very knowledgable of not only how to tailor the suit just right, but she also knew about the latest styles and looks that would bring my suit up-to-date. Once I picked up the suit, I found a garment that was stunningly updated and beautiful. This place is a family business, and it really feels like it. Every time I walk in, Mrs. Almasi knows exactly my measurements, my tastes in style, etc. Plus, you get a lot of great quality work, service and care for the prices you pay here. Oh, and did I mention that the shop practices green cleaning? That definitely makes me feel better each time I bring something in to get washed.

I was told it would cost more for the jeans but that they'd be able to repair them. When I got the jeans back, there was a giant white spot where the tear used to be. It happens to be in the groin area, so they're basically unwearable now. I went back in to see if there was anything they could do to fix them or redo the repair. The woman said there was nothing they could do. I politely asked if I could get a refund for just the jeans, since they're unwearable now. She said she couldn't, because the tear was repaired. If I'd known the repair would leave them unwearable, I never would have paid the extra cost for jeans. Save your money and your clothes and go somewhere else for sewing.
