I really love this fenced off dogpark in SF. The people are friendly, dogs seem to love it and have a lot of fun with the 1000s of tennisballs that are around. Yes, this is in my opinion the best, most dogfriendly AND most people friendly dogpark I have been to in this city. It is a lot smaller than, for example, Douglas Dogpark. But it also is a lot less tense than Douglas Dogpark. And the people are a lot less bitchy than at Douglas.

This place isn't the prettiest, but it has exactly what any sighthound owner needs - sky-high fencing. Until I found out about this place I'd been forced to drive to Sausalito on the weekends to take my high speed hound out for a fenced-in run. The crowd is easy-going for the most part, my only complaint would be the lack of comfortable seating. And good luck finding something that hasn't been peed on!

I like that there's a dog park in the Castro. Its one more spot I can meet up with my friends, but also have my dog meet up and make friends. It's not a gigantic park. Dogs of all sizes play together, which I like because all my friends have small dogs, and my dog is a 30lb puppy. There is a water spigot (that review is from a few years ago that says there isn't one)...there's a little shade too. The people here pay more attention to their dogs than in other dog parks, maybe because it's smaller and easier to, maybe because it's a mix of large and small dogs. Parking here is difficult any time other than the middle of a weekday (and then you can get parking somewhere on the block around the park). However, if you're parked in the Castro, there are a couple pet food stores you can buy your dog a treat at on the way to the park....

Small but very busy park in a perfect, safe and clean neighborhood…read more I'm not a big fan of artificial man-made dog parks with fake grass. I mean... why fake grass if you can give your dogs the real experience instead of touching plastic with their paws.... anyways that's another topic. This dog park is small but gets very busy. Most people are residents or live nearby. If you're not sure where to find a lot of dogs for yours to play with, this park might just be it. Watch out. Because it's fake grass, even if the owners pick up the poop it'll leave doodooo residuals EVERYWHERE on the grass.

We love Mission Bay Dog Park!…read more The dog park itself is a long rectangle situated between apartment buildings in the Mision Bay area. The park is covered primarily in astroturf and includes two fire hydrants, some benches, a three port water fountain, and 3 poop bag dispensers (one on each end and one in the middle). The park itself is pretty much always clean. Many of the dogs are from the neighborhood so there are a lot of regular. Practically all the owners we have met are also pretty nice. If you're driving to the park, there is a ton of parking in the area. Only downside is that meters in Mission Bay go until 10pm, but that's no fault of the park. The park is open from 6am until 10pm and we have found that the best time to go is in the morning before work or in the later evening, post 8pm. The park can be especially busy right after working hours and, for us, we try not to go during this time. We love this park and go to it almost daily!

We were in the area for a festival and read that this park was great for dogs and had a dog park…read morearea. We walked up the HUGE San Francisco hill to the park, and then the whole park is a hill. The park is beautiful, there are sidewalks throughout, a nice playground for kids, a dog park area with a fence around it, and a summit area. Near the summit there was a coffee truck, Native Twins Coffee, that was perfect to grab a coffee or matcha. The dog park was a good size, it's long and fenced in, but on the hill so if you're planning on playing fetch/catch with your dog it'll either be throwing up hill or chasing it downhill. There were some trees, so there was some shade in the area too, plus a water fountain in case your dog gets thirsty. I will say, there were dogs all over the park off leash, not just in the turfed dog area. The dogs that were off leash were well behaved, but we kept an eye on our dog (on leash) and the others around us just to be safe. The summit is really pretty with some areas to sit down and plenty of shade. The view was great, and there were groups of people there for a birthday party. The playground area also had some seating nearby and another party was happening in that area. Despite the giant hill, this was a very cute park. I'd definitely stop by again.
