The colors and material are great! Ryan was our over-all coordinator and great at keeping us informed on our project, including scheduling, invoices and required changes. He was always our first point of contact for questions and very quick to respond. He was a really helpful person to work with. Mario was our field manager. He handled pre- and post-construction walk-throughs, including working with us on installation details and where all the materials would be staged. He was very clear on directions for us and for the deck builder. He was fabulous! Brett constructed our deck and stair railing. Because this was a small project, Masterdeck used a trusted partner, who was Brett for our project. We were so lucky! He's truly a master craftsman. His attention to detail and construction was fabulous! So many finishing touches that really make this deck perfect (example: finished corners so there no deck ends showing). Never any chaos, no rework and he answered all our questions. We really appreciated him and his skills so much. Having Brett do the work gave us confidence that we now have a high quality and beautiful deck that we can enjoy for years. He made this whole experience for us far less stressful. I reached out on Yelp for a project regarding cost to vault a ceiling of a potential house I was considering to buy. Someone on the team said that they could come at 11am for a site visit. I asked once again on Yelp to confirm they were coming. I had heard that I would need advice from a structural engineer, and they said yes. Then, I called them directly again, to verify if the manager would be able to speak on the structural feasibility of the project. After calling the manager's number provided by the receptionist multiple times, there was no answer - maybe he was on the job. However, when my husband called AD Master again, he was able to reach someone and when he asked about the site visit, they said they didn't have our appointment on the books. We had to schedule once again on the phone. Long story short, someone did come (at 10am, not the agreed time) and they thought they were there for a deck repair. To be honest, he just seemed uncomfortable to have showed up to the wrong job site and didn't contribute much - no estimate of cost or work was shared by him. I liked the quality of work I saw on the photos, but would not likely hire them due to the poor communication so far. Edit response to AD Master: After speaking with your customer service agent, Viky, she shared that many of your employees do not speak English as a first language, causing the miscommunications. I am glad you are taking this seriously moving forward to improve the experience for future customers. As a result, I will raise my review to 3 stars. Wow! I'm amazed that Cedar River construction doesn't have more reviews on Yelp. One even gave us a quote and when I called to book the job, they never called back. We found Steve's website online and he called us back within a day, was out to do the quote with in a few days after that and started the job within about a week! He was prompt, professional and not afraid of technology (I.e he knew how to respond via email--which was great because then we didn't play phone tag.) He used quality lumber from a local company, got the job done on time and delivered high quality work. His quote was just a bit less than other quotes (yea!), but generally all the quotes we got were in the same ballpark. So it was really his promptness, communication and professionalism that sold us. The site was clean and orderly after they left and we came home to a beautiful cedar fence. I especially like the gate design. If we ever re-do our deck or extend the fence line, Cedar River will be our first call. I'd recommend Steve's work to anyone!

When we raised the issue, they initially denied installing that particular post. After we provided clear photographic evidence proving otherwise, they stopped responding and have ignored our repeated messages ever since. The workmanship was disappointing, but their refusal to address a legitimate problem was even more concerning. In our experience, this is not a company that takes responsibility when something goes wrong. We also found information on the BBB website stating that the company had not obtained a necessary license from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. Prospective customers may want to verify the contractor's licensing status themselves before hiring them.

They were there within 2 days of hire and completed the work within 2 days. We told them not to paint but Alex threw in paint for just the cost of materials, which was nice. Although, I wish I had some say on the color since they didn't ask beforehand and I would have loved a natural stain instead. The crew was very kind, they'd even bring my packages into the garage for me and make sure to close the garage door when they were done. The work is sturdy, done right, and I feel confident will last. My only point of advice is to just be more mindful of the garden. I had just purchased and planted 6 new plants and had a succulent ground cover I had been working to grow out for years. It was all so trampled I thought maybe they had dug it out at first. It would have been nice to get warning so I could dig it up myself (since it was fresh planted) or for them to step around it. Overall, I'd definitely hire GAB again (and likely will to finish our deck soon) and will reccomend them to friends and family. A lot of the other contractors were giving me ridiculously low bids, which I knew were shady and they hadn't measured the area. They came within a few days in same day. I had a new, completely rebuilt dock, which is fabulous. They kept the area clean while they were working, and I barely knew they were there, totally respectful. I am so happy to have my dock back so that I can play on the lake.

I see that there's a "not recommended" review here that sounds a lot like my experience -- I'm not…read moresure how that review got squashed but my experience on a bathroom remodel was very much the same. We worked primarily with David. In the initial stages, I asked a lot of questions and every time I had concerns the answer was the same: "If you're not happy, we'll fix it until you are." But then none of the products we wanted were in stock, they pushed us to choose something else. What's more, when we agreed with the bathtub they recommended one the one we chose, the one they recommended was $500 cheaper. Did we get that discount? No. They kept it. There were things we discussed at the initial walkthrough that suddenly were not in the contract (which is online and very difficult to read, and also I suspect they can change it after it's signed), so we got upcharged for everything. When the end product was installed incorrectly David started trying to gaslight us that it was the product, not the installation, and said that if we wanted it redone he'd cover the labor (which I'm assuming means he wouldn't pay his laborers), but we would have to purchase all the replacement products. If you choose to go with them, which I would not, but if you do, get the initial consultation on video so there's no question of what was included. Tell them you will pay for the products and you only want labor, so they can't upcharge all the materials or use cheaper products that they hide inside the walls. Create a contract of your own that you have them sign, that includes what the finished product will be and what is acceptable and what is not. Ensure that if there is extra product (flooring or whatever) you are the one who returns it for credit, or if they return it, you get credit. There are so many other things that went wrong, but this is enough. Literally there's not a single day where I don't wish I'd never heard of them.
