There's definitely a lot of unique food items here even though the store itself is somewhat small. I purchased a few things from here today including home made coarsely sauce, a bag of Mina's Kafa coffee beans, and my favorite Pekmez of Sijiva Plum Butter that is ten times better than your regular peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The Pionir Honey Cakes also caught my eye, and they were priced fairly at $4.79 for a bag. In fact, the total for those three specialty items was less than $15. So many of their imported food items looked delicious, but I would need to do more research to know exactly what they are. This place is a unique find and maybe someday they will expand out to add a few more aisles of great stuff! read more

Ambiance? In a grocery store? Well I noticed that one of your reviewers who tends to rate all things a one star heads the yelp reviews for this business which is otherwise rated about a four star. I just bought two jars of Romanian zacusca yesterday and two frozen packets of mititei sausage today. No issues no problems. I couldn't find either anywhere close by. I apologized that I couldn't properly pronounce what I wanted. They laughed and helped me find both items. She apparently walked in and walked out based on I don't know what. She should have adopted a better attitude. It a great store that has stuff I have not been able to find anywhere that is so close it's ridiculous. At least she was honest and said she walked in and out without interacting with the staff. I don't think she has been to Europe or anywhere else. Please take her "review" off the front page because it is based on no interaction, no purchase, nothing except she has a bad feeling. We have been coming to this store for 20 years! It is by far the best store in the area to shop for Eastern European products, from Macedonia, Bulgaria, etc. Ajvar, Lutenica, picked cabbage, frozen Kebap's, vegeta, Thomy, pate and more. Highly recommend if you enjoy East European foods. read more

I haven't been exposed to too much authentic European goodies, especially Eastern European (Balkan). I found this grocery store from a blog online and decided to check it out with one of my coworker from Serbia. It turned out the store is owned by a Serbian and everything is super authentic Serbian! I got so many snacks and were very happy with all of them: - Eurocream: Serbian version of Nutella but 2x more delicious! It's half chocolate, half white chocolate which you can never go wrong with :) - Bananica (?): banana-flavored marshmallow chocolate. Very unique and rich banana flavors. - Ajvar roasted pepper (mild spicy): makes a great spread for bread. Basically is like roasted pepper hummus but without the pea taste and less salty. - Milka (milk chocolate with whole hazelnuts): my FAVORITE brand of chocolate. Really put Hershey's to shame. - Iane: Serbian biscuits. Great with coffee and tea. What I love most about it is that it is not too sweet, very buttery and crispy If you are from Europe or used to live in Europe, this is great to find those authentic, true taste of Europe. If you have never been (like myself!), it is a great place to check out some European flavors. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Chocolate excites me - shopping for chocolate excites me too and this place excites me because they sell Kinder Chocolate. I have been coming here for years but just went straight to the Kinder goodies - yesterday I had time to spare so I shopped some more. This place is like the delicatessens in New York - the eatery is just next door - the Balkan Grill. This little store is a fantastic find. Most people stop here while they are waiting on an order from the Balkan Grill, but I say that it is worth the stop on its own. Loaded with meats and sauces from Eastern Europe, this store is the perfect location for any foodie or novice to open his/her food horizons. I love exploring the small isles to come up with a special treat for friends and family. So far, the chocolates, special sodas, Croatian mayonnaise have been big hits in my corner of the world. But my favorite taste treat from this store is the Vegata, and I really have to thank Jill H.'s yelp review for that one, because if I hadn't read her review, I wouldn't have tried it. It's a spicy sauce that is rocking my foodie world. I can't wait to see what it does to some of the more mundane soups in my cupboard. read more

If you've ever been to Eastern Europe, particular Croatia, Serbia or Bosnia, you will find many of their food goods here! Some must trys: Kras chocolates, the mayo (trust me it's amazing!) and the Kinder chocolates. The VEGATA. (It gets it's own paragraph, yes!) The Vegata is LIKE CRACK!! I'm not kidding you. You can put that in any dish and it will be a hit. I use it in soups and to marinate meat. It basically enhance flavor, there isn't a particular flavor associated with it though. There's also a carryout eatery there. It's very good. The chivapi are a must have and the bread it comes on is amazing. It's not as good as what I ate in Zagreb, but it's definitely good. read more

i came in here during the holidays while I was visiting the thrift store in the same plaza. I got some Croatian Grasevina riesling wine, some sausages (5 Star brand which is Slovenian), some chocolates, and some citrus drink (Apelsin Nektar as I recall). The total came out to about $38.00. The store is very small but there is a very good selection of what it has. The store seemed very similar to the small neighborhood grocery stores that I saw when I visited Austria a few years ago. All of the food was fresh and of good quality. The store appears to cater to people from the Balkans and Turkey. The service was friendly. This place is excellent to try if you want to try something out of the ordinary. No complaints. read more

While waiting for some bureks at the adjoining Balkan Grill, I wandered through Euro Foods only to be pleasantly surprised with a lot of products that would help me cook Balkan food at home. It must be one of the few places to pick up ready made cevapcici sausages to bring home and grill up, and I'm not sure there's a bigger selection of ajvar in one place in the area. They have a wide selection of spice mixes to make cooking Balkan dishes easy. I can vouch for the chicken paprikash mix which was delicious. I also tasted the frozen cevapis this weekend and was pleasantly surprised (although they are not as good as the cevapis sold next door cooked). I was disappointed to see they do not have any Croat, Montenegrin or Bosnian beers. I would have killed for a nice sixer of Odjzusko or Sarajevsko brews. Oh well. Anyways, hvala to these folks for offering some rare items and helping me reminisce about vacations past in the Balkans. read more

Euro Foods is one of the best stores I've ever been to. As the daughter of a Bosnian immigrant, I've never really gotten the chance to eat the foods and snacks of my mother's country without traveling to Bosnia and Herzegovina personally. However, Euro Foods brings everything from Ćevapi to Ajvar to chocolate to old Yugoslavian snack food right in the little store. This place is a haven for former Yugoslavians and those who appreciate Balkan foods. read more

YES. Finally found a place that sells bitter lemon. I used to drink this stuff all the time as a kid. It's better than any soda. No other carbonated soft drink compares, it's a one of a kind thing. I had been searching online for a way to order the stuff from Serbia but no need, this place had liters of the stuff stacked at the front of the store. It wasn't cheap, but hey, you can't get it anywhere else, so what're you gonna do? They also had a HUGE selection of chocolates, tons of different varities of Milka, which is cool. The store has meats and stuff too but unfortunately I don't know how to cook any of them so I might have to come back and ask the guy running this place how to do that. The only thing missing was the beer section. On their website and on their facebook they have pictures of lots of beers from different places (Poland, Russia, some others) but when I got there they didn't seem to have any of that in stock. Sucks cause I'm super into trying new beers from different places and they had some seriously interesting looking stuff in their facebook photos. This place is just super cool. This place is great. They have a large selection of ajvar, a sort of relish made from peppers, eggplant and tomatoes that goes with anything - burgers, hot dogs, fish, meat. Can't find that product anywhere else but it's a must for grilled food. Will be back for more. read more
