It's not the best sushi in the world but it's very good for grocery quality. Otherwise, they (unsurprisingly) mostly carry organic and small-business brands. They have good sales sometimes but even then you can expect prices to be about 25% higher than what you'd see at a "normal" grocery store. Overall it's a fun place to go if you want high quality products but it's not really a feasible substitute for everyday shopping due to the prices. Will go back for the sushi at a minimum!

"This type of rice is a combination of Koshihikari rice and Yumegokochi rice, with a rich flavor and excellent texture." Likewise, they carry Nishiki, and various Korean brands as well As always, the interior or the store is very, very clean, and items are well stocked. Likewise, the staff will go out of their way to special order some items if they are not normally carried on the shelves. The best thing is that they added a small eatery in the store called the "Korner Kitchen," which offers a very diversified menu of Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese items.

Plus dedicated aisles to dry goods like sauces and noodles, chips and crackers, sweets, beverages, etc. they also have a butcher counter (cannot speak to the quality of that but it looked good) and a produce section with both more traditional produce you can find in most stores in the US as well as some imported treats like pears and such. I also noticed some imported dairy aisle staples like milk (soy and otherwise), eggs (chicken and duck), and yogurt. Prices, especially for a store that mostly carries imported goods, seem pretty reasonable, though I honestly didn't end up purchasing anything (it's hot out and I wouldn't be home for a while). But now that I've been I can definitely see myself coming back again for a more dedicated shopping trip in the future.

One time a produce worker offered to make a mirepoix (fresh cut vegetables for soup ) for us while we were shopping, and when I was introducing my baby to solid foods, I got a lot of great tips from the meat counter worker. I will say that the prices are exorbitant and some things. I wish I could shop here full-time but it is very expensive. But when you have allergies, they learn that some things are worth paying a little bit of a premium for. We will always come in for their produce and rotisserie chickens. The produce I buy here is always fresh and delicious and I've never had a problem with mold, bruises, or slimy vegetables. I can always trust the quality at Plum market. They have an app also which has some pretty great deals sometimes. Their hot case is delicious if you don't have a bunch of allergies. We used to enjoy that quite frequently. The fish and chips are really good. I love how the bathroom has a fresh bouquet of flowers. They are beautiful and such a nice touch. The only big issue it the pricing of the meat and fishes. They are quite high in comparison to the Bangladeshi stores in Hamtramck. We always buy fish and meat from Golam but recently we started to buy same items from Detroit area through our Frieda who live nearby and it costs us half the price. They recently expanded the fresh vegetable selection and added a small choice of fresh meat cuts. Store is cleaner than it used to be. Fresh pastries are now in a case near the front across from the cash register; you ask for a tray and tongs and can get your own choices by the piece. Caveat: I have seen a couple of flies perusing the pastries. That happens at other markets too though. I usually have one or two particular things on my list, and usually bring home several more interesting ingredients. The staff is often rushed, but is friendly and answers my questions.
