I had Jeff from Euro-Tech Door & Window come to my home to provide an estimate for a door replacement. Unfortunately, my experience was unprofessional and uncomfortable. Jeff arrived smelling strongly of cigarette smoke and was coughing throughout the visit. After I indicated more than once that I was ready to end the appointment, the conversation continued, and I felt that my attempts to wrap things up were not respected. Before leaving, Jeff asked to use my restroom. After he left, I found that the toilet had not been flushed, and the sink appeared completely dry, which left me concerned that he had not washed his hands. Overall, I did not feel comfortable with the professionalism of this visit and would not recommend this company based on my experience. read more

we had our siding done with them a while ago, our widows rotted out now and had to have them replaced cus they didn't do their job correct. The window repair men informed us that they did a hack job and the siding they installed wasn't flush to the old siding. now cus they didn't do their job the right way and did it the lazy and way according to the window workers, it was now created wood rot where there shouldn't be. read more

On 05/11/2023 Martin showed up around 07:45 am to start removing and replacing 5 windows. He was polite, professional and worked in a safe manner. He laid protection on the floor and covered what was needed . He installed the 5 windows and then caulked the inside windows and cleaned up the little mess that was made. I have an old home with beautiful architectural characteristics inside and out but the years have taken its toll. I was concerned about updating the windows so I did my due diligence and I'm glad I did. I was skeptical as most of us, especially when its such a large investment. I need to make every penny stretch. I replaced 26 windows, not a small project. Jaydin the salesperson did not over sell and was very patient since this was a stressful commitment for me. It helps to have a salesperson who believes in their products and are willing to guide you thru this type of investment. When the window crew finished yesterday, I was tearful seeing the quality of the windows. The care and attention to repairs needed in order for my new windows to show case was exceptional. Bart said " he treats each job as if it's his home " he meant it. Thank you, Bart and his crew you went above and beyond to make, sure I was satisfied with your work. I did not need siding but my garage was in sad shape with no soffits, rotting wood and animal nesting. In one day they repaired, replaced rotted wood and it looks brand new with new fascia and soffit covering that match my windows and house. Currently the crew, Mike and Jerry are working on finishing the garage and then onto my house and I am so glad I chose Eurotech for my windows, fascia, and soffits. My house is not only going to look amazing but I can rest assured that I will not need to worry again about having a sound structure and windows. HEADACHE AVOIDED - - DO NOT RECOMMEND Reached out to Okna requesting local dealer for sliding patio door. Unfortunately, it ended up being EuroTech Inc. The representative who called to setup an estimate appt stated they were Okna windows. Initially she indicated they could not quote only a sliding patio door and it would need to include windows too (even though I don't need windows). Then they indicated that only the patio door was fine. Then they went on with some BS about my spouse. Finally, it was stated that 90 minutes was needed for the estimate appt. Day and time of the appt comes...no call/no show. So, i call the number back that called me (which is when I find out that the company is EuroTech Inc. and not Okna windows). I will not be using (nor do i recommend) this sketchy and unprofessional company. read more

I had our roof replaced the Euro-Tech years ago and have been trying to have them correct a problem with the flashing. The flashing was improperly installed from the beginning. Falsely advertised as a local mom and pop owned shop (Powell & Sons of Elgin). When I submitted a request for a quote online, this place called me back. Three different people called me within ten minutes which was annoying. I told them I needed a door repaired and they set up an appointment. The day before they call to confirm and tell me that my spouse MUST be there for an estimate. It's a basic repair. They then tell me they don't do repairs. They only replace. Even though their fake Powell and sons website says they repair and I discussed exactly what I needed in our first conversation (and on the web form I submitted). Be careful of this place. I got an estimate from Euro-Tech to get a new roof on my house and shed with a complete tear off. Their price was comparable to the other companies estimates that I had gotten. I was told that Euro-Tech would be at the house between 7:00 and 8:00 am. They arrived at 7:07 am and finished at 2:20 pm. They cleaned everything up. I used Euro-Tech before for siding, windows and a front door so I knew what quality work they do and they stand behind their work. I would not hesitate to use them again should I need any other projects done. read more

I used the company for replacing the low E patio door. It was over $3100.00. Euro-tech used Seabrook Company door. After 6 years there're streaks inside. The material is a cheap plastic , not a glass. It has scratches outside from a chair all over. Also the screen leaves schratches. A vinyl frame is wide and blockes out a lot of light. A very cheap product, I don't recomend. I suspect the streakes inside is a poor labor because that part is not movable . read more

Like most people that reviewed Euro -tech so far, I was approached by a knock on my door, I figured that i would get a quote done on my entry door since it was getting kind of beat up and i haven't have the time recently to get around to changing it myself. I've already been looking at other stores for what style door I wanted and the price that i was willing to pay. I also knew a typical door like mine to install was around $700. The door I wanted to go with was about $200 at a local store. So with a ballpark price in my head I was armed with the knowledge to know what kind of quote to expect. I wish I could tell you that my figures were correct but sadly that wasn't the case, I was first quoted $2769 for a plain door like the one at the local store. I started to chuckle when I saw the figure that I was presented. I had a price that I spent time researching so I knew what to expect but that figure was mind blowing! Best part of all of this I asked how much to add a peep hole to the door, he said $500!!! well it turned out that it was actually $489 to add a $20 peephole to a door that takes a few minutes to do yourself. I did think that I would be quoted a little higher as with these companies there is always room for negations. But starting quote at $2769 for a job that should cost around $1000 is just ridiculous! I had the feeling that the salesman felt defeated once I laid down my knowledge of hanging doors myself and knowing the average labor cost associated with an install. He started to pack up his gear and called his boss to let him know that I wasn't happy with the quote and they counter offered with an extra $500 off. Sorry get it around $1000 and we can talk. I wrote this so others are aware to do your homework before anyone comes over to give you a quote, there is a wealth of information at your fingertips and don't let them bully you into purchasing something that you know is not a good deal. As for this company you should really be ashamed of ones self to ripped people off in their own homes. read more

I really wanted to have a good experience because I had done business with them in the past but NO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! First, we told the sales guy that we only had a limited amount of time because we had a wedding to go to. He continued to give us his spiel well into two hours. I was trying to be nice and I regret it. The price started off at 12,000 and eventually he tried to give us a deal at 8700 but it was only a one day deal. ???????? How do you go from 12,000 to 8700 in an hour? I will admit, we got lured in and let him run our credit, even though we told him we would not be accepted because we had other bills. Long story, short, he left all the paperwork when he finally left but not the paperwork to CANCEL. How convenient. I called their offices and was told the person who handles cancellations was on vacation, how convenient. They finally told me the manager would come to my house and make sure I was not under contract. Manager came out and proceeded to "try" to berate us about why we were not going with their company, our financing, our choice of another company, etc. In the end, I told him I just wanted him out of my house. I am sure they do excellent work, but tactics and communication skills make them less than desirable. We went with another company that charged us 3500 for a complete and warrantied tear off (our home is under 1200 sq0and we love it. Euro's condescending tone and not so free estimate or worry free estimate insures that I will not rec. them to anyone or ever use them. read more

Proceed with caution......my experience with them, today, is they use "used car salesman like tactics" . I was referred to them through a third party. I had not done any research on them but they contacted me and made an appointment to come see a house of mine so they could prepare an estimate. I cleared my schedule so i could travel to and meet them at the property. The day before (after traveling to the property), they called to confirm the appointment and asked if my spouse would be there. When i told them that she wasn't , they said i had to reschedule. (Note, my spouse "being present " never was brought up when i set the original appointment) I told them i was the only one going to meet with them, at anytime, and they still didn't want to honor the original appointment. If you read other reviews you will come across similar experiences. I don't know, and based upon today's experience, will never know, the quality of "their" work. Here is my advice based upon my experience with them today and experience in general: 1) Get multiple (3-5) quotes on the work ahead of meeting with them 2) Rely heavily on friends you trust and that have good business accumen, that have actually had good experiences with a contractor, for references. 3) Unless your house is collapsing, never commit to a contractor on the spot. Take your time. Ask follow up questions of all the potential contractors once you have all bids. 4) ALWAYS propose a lower number than the initial quote....even from the lowest bidder. 5) if the contractor says no....ask again. 6) if the contractor says no ...ask again. The "spouse must be present" is a documented sales "tactic". It can easily researched on the internet for those that want to understand the underlying strategy. read more

Euro-tech installed a new roof on my house about 5 years ago and it started leaking in one spot as soon as we had a heavy rain. They sent out a tech to repair it and it worked for about a year, but then leaked again. The leak was patched two more times over the years but started leaking again in the same spot. Even though they have a 30yr. warranty, and the same leak has never been permanently repaired, they want to charge me a $350.00 service fee to come out and look at it again. The service lady's new story is that the leak is being caused by the chimney, even though repairs over the years were made to the flashing around the chimney. She also stated that it might be cheaper to have someone else come out. So why have a warranty? Avoid at all cost! read more

[Strike 0: did not meet my expectations time wise] I requested an estimate, my wife requested it to be brief, and we were given a 60-minute sales pitch. This did not meet my expectation, or the request of my wife. [Strike 1: the price was 240% higher than a competitor for the same tiles] The initial roofing estimate was ~$12,000, and 240% more than a competitor for the same product from the same manufacturer. [Strike 2: I was told that connecting with other experts was foolish]. The salesman attempted to convince me that obtaining additional estimates was a foolish endeavor. I find that anyone attempting to convince me not to study more about an industry or product to be (a) not good for my understanding of an industry, and (b) worrisome. [Strike 3: The price dropped 42% . . . forty-two percent . . . . as I showed the salesman the door] As I showed the salesman to the door the price dropped from ~$12,000 to $7,000, 140% more than a competitor for the same product from the same manufacturer, and dropping the price by 42% to be quite gonzo. Even with 42% off the same product from a competitor is cheaper. This gonzo price-range does not sit well with me in the least. [Conclusion] I find this combination of (a) attempting to convince me not to look into the competition, and not educating myself on the industry, and (b) eventual dropping of the price from ~$12,000 to $7,000 . . . a price difference of 42% . . . to be incompatible with my worldview. I find the notion of someone attempting to talk me into not contacting other experts to learn about something to be insulting to the idea of intelligence. If, like me, you value seeking various intelligent, informed opinions, without someone attempting to talk you out of seeking that knowledge from other experts, than Euro-Tech, Inc. is not the direction you should go in. I would suggest that you look else ware with great enthusiasm. read more

Had my living room windows done with Euro tech 9 years ago, 8 was ver pleased but figures I woukd come back and finish the rest of my home when I could afford it. NOW I'm on the market for replacement windows and they cone to the house to measure these little windows on a ranch home and gave me a crazy price ! Only one window is 72 inches the largest one . The estimate was double digits.? The going rate for windows this small is half of what the quote was so I guess they don't want my business. I waited and saved so I could call them back because I trusted them but I guess they're looking for bigger projects and more money? It's amazing how greed works even in a small business. My rating is based solely on the sales experience as I did not purchase the product/service. I was solicited by a nice young man and agreed to have someone come and give me an estimate for roof/gutters/soffits & fascia (which I am in the market for). However, after seeing these negative sales experience reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect and even contemplated canceling my appointment. Ultimately, I kept the appointment, and to be fair to the company, I find it necessary to point out there were no high-pressure sales tactics during my appointment, and the salesman was very friendly and informative. In fact, he mentioned from the start that he was simply there to prepare an estimate, and it would be good for a year should I decide to choose them. He explained the company, the training they require of their workers, and the products they use, and when I declined the estimate, he was completely understanding to my reasons. The process took 2 hours, so that should be noted in case you're looking for a quick quote. But only half that time was spent discussing the company, products, and quote, while the other half was spent measuring and preparing the estimate. Understandable in that we as customers need to know what we are buying, and they as the company need to know what they are doing and charging for. I declined the estimate due to price. The estimate was just over $40,000 for a 1300 sq ft ranch home with an attached breezeway & 2 car garage. I don't doubt the quality of the product they offer. In fact, I'm sold on the quality; just not the price. So while this estimate may work in more affluent neighborhoods, it doesn't in mine where the estimate is a third of the actual value of the home. So for that, I can only give it 4 stars. read more

We had our roof and gutters replaced in February.. First of all they called and talked us into it as we were supposed to do it in the spring.. The scheduler told us her guys wanted to work so we said ok...What a huge mess.. After calling the company and talking to one of the owners the contractor came back out to look at the mess.. Granted it was snowy.. We were promised a return visit in the spring by the roofers and as of today they have not come back.. My husband and I have picked up most of the nails and small chunks of roofing material...i must say the company that did the gutters were fabulous and the roof and gutters look great.. But as much money as we paid for this I expected more courtesy.. So i will amend this by saying the response was quick from Euro tech and Greg who did the roofing. He personally came by and we talked and are very happy. As i have said all along the workmanship is awesome. My husband and I will now recommend them to others! read more

I had the misfortune of wasting two hours of my life listening to an overzealous salespitch. This is the exact reason I hate people coming to your house and asking at least 90min of your time to explain their amazing product and amazing installation. Local neighbors had their similar size roofs done for $10-14K. They were explaining how their workers are vetted and trained. After hearing mostly everything I already knew about roofing materials and installation being told to me, they asked me how much do I think this roof will cost? I gave them the benefit of doubt and being a more "reputable" firm with high overhead which can only come out of the customers pocket..., I guessed $20-25 grand. The guy giggled and handed me the proposal for almost $41,000!! He then made the big mistake of admitting the price was inflated so they could guarantee it for one year even if materials prices would double. I mentioned that I was looking for an estimate for metal roofing to begin with, even when he came through the door, but I was surprised that his estimate was just as high as the metal roofing which he claimed cost around $40k as well. After calling a manager and asking financial questions from me, I told him that short of a very small mortgage, my house renovations were all paid for in cash, he wanted a hand shake and "today only price" of $26k. This might often leave other customers gleaming with joy, but knowing someone more than triples the price and then almost drops it in half, just proves to me that their business ethics are very poor. In my opinion, if you can't be honest in the initial sales pitch, I can't expect you to be honest with the installation. I've seen mexicans and polaks do great installation jobs including roofing and as long as they don't ask for money up front, I'll give them my business any day of the week. read more

We got our new siding over 2 years ago. Still need someone to come out & fix the siding so I can put my garden hose on & off. They are 5 minute away, but want me to upload a photo & send it to them, but they say they didn't receive it. But they will send someone over this week if I want new windows!!! Numerous phone calls, & I told them if someone doesn't come soon that I would put my comment on YELP. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER. I had a nice gentlemen come to my door, offering window replacement. So I gave him my information to set up an appointment. Soon after I got a call from the company and the guy says "how many windows do you have that need replacing?" I told him 3. He says "Can you make it 4?" I said no there's only 3 in that room. He replies "well what about the rest of your house?" Those are the only windows that need replacing I inform him. He says "I doubt that" I said apparently you don't want my business after all. He says why? Because your rude. So he goes to make an appointment and tells me my husband needs to be there. I told him I'm not married, he says oh the homeowner needs to be there. I said I am the homeowner he says well any other homeowners will need to be there. I inform him again I am the only homeowner. He pauses and again mutters "I doubt that". I told him to cancel my appointment as I have no desire to work with your company. I get a call the next day, ask to be removed from call list. This has gone on now for a month and I get calls everyday. Finally, I ask for the address and the women says I'm the manager I'll take you of list, I said great give me the full name and address if your company. She speed reads it to me, I tell her to repeat and she says "Google it" and hangs up on me. I try to call them back and she hangs up on me again and again. This is the manager? where to start. We were solicited and expressed interest on a roof replacement. A salesman came out a week later and quoted a price I found agreeable ($12k). Like a fool, I wrote a check for a deposit. Five days later I get a call from the office that the salesman will need to meet with me again. He comes out and states that the measured the wrong house and our roof is significantly larger. Note, my village is almost exclusively ranch houses of similar size. He says the new price is now $28.5k, but since they made a mistake, they will take $10k off and do the job for $18.5k. No longer a good deal, so I tell him no. He says they won't cash the deposit check. I show him that they deposited it within 48 hours of my contract. He then says he will get it refunded directly. It is now a month later. Ten days ago I sent a certified letter to the address of their Milwaukee office. USPS tracking shows that the letter was refused do to no authorized signer available. UPDATE: A check showed up with my deposit refund today. They never did accept the certified letter, so I guess they did the right thing after all. When no one in the company will give you an email address (I finally got the second salesman to give me their personal email), and refuses to pass you basic information like warranty, contract, product or work descriptions electronically, you should always be worried. Unfortunately, this was my experience - badgered by repeated phone calls, appointments scheduled then missed, obscenely long sales meetings that refused to address my questions and insisted on sticking to their book (those who've seen it know what I mean), and requests to continue scheduling meetings just to change the price, talk about a detail, or pass me a sheet of paper they could have emailed or had on a website. Sooo, where do I start. My husband and I were actually excited to learn more about the product and even were willing to paying the 24,000 they wanted to Re-do our roof. Until the salesperson had an actual fit that we wouldn't buy now. And when we tried to explain that money wasn't the issue and we could withdrawal the money for him with no problem he tried to get the price lower. Assuming price was our issue. We continued to let him know that money wasn't the issue we just wanted to look around, their company was the first company we talked to and we would be nieve to sign on the dotted line for just anyone. After trying to then insult us by breaking it down into smaller payments because there was no way "we" could afford it, we assured him again that money wasn't the issue and we just would like to do our research. We both work in sales and don't feel comfortable making impulsive decisions. He then tried to make a desperate call to his manager to give us yet again a cheaper price. Which we insisted was great we love the product but we have to do our reasearch. As he is leaving my home he feels ballsy and decides to insult my husband and I by saying completely inappropriate comments. He was so upset he didn't get our sales he started to mumble "it's okay it's okay not everyone has that kind of money " . Which to my husband and I was such a silly comment. He continued to say rude comments all the way down the driveway. The worse part we genuinely liked the product our main goal is to find a product that is top of the line and will sustain. We just wanted to do a little reasearch. We would be fools if we didn't . But after we were insulted in our own home why would we want to do business with this company. This started just about a year ago may 11 2011. Phil was my service rep nice guy. But unfortunately he wasn't honest neither are Fred nor Tony. So again I ordered two windows in may of last year. Was told I'd have them in seven weeks didn't happen. Called in periodically to check on updates none. My wife and I do love the product quality through and through. We still to date march 30th 2022 do not have our windows. We gave them $1240.00. During this extended time frame we did eventually communicate made changes and a few hurdles but were assured we would have them in a timely fashion. Here we are just about a year later get an email about what they feel is best and told to call in. Called in and as was the situation before all managers at 3 in the afternoon aren't there. So product great communication respect not there. No accountability everybody passes the buck. Last but not least the customer service reps that answer the phone act like we are bothering them to check on our investment the tone and answers are poor.
