I wanted to share my recent experience purchasing an ECU tune from Eurocharged Performance (dealing directly with owner Jerry Thornton) for my Mercedes-AMG (factory rated at 510 hp), spending around NZ$3,000. ​Eurocharged advertises their Stage 1 tune at 639 hp / 627 ft-lbs (+129 hp gain). I requested a slightly more moderate calibration of around 600-610 hp, along with basic features Jerry explicitly promised in writing: permanent exhaust flaps open and auto start/stop delete. ​1. Lack of Documentation & Dead Dongle on Arrival ​For NZ$3,000, all that arrived was a bare OBD dongle in a box. No instructions, no battery support requirements, no plug gap advice, and no explanation of what to expect during flashing. Furthermore, the dongle was completely non-functional upon arrival. I lost an entire day waiting because Jerry admitted he accidentally activated someone else's dongle on his system, later telling me his mistake was "not worth getting worked up over." ​2. Immediate Loss of Performance & Fault Messages ​Immediately after flashing, the car felt flat, sluggish, and noticeably quieter than stock. I was also met with an "Electronic rear axle differential lock inoperative" warning on the dash. When I informed Jerry the car felt worse, his reply was: ​"It is very possible that I removed too much power trying to accomplish your request. I've owned this company for 20 years and have only been asked to do that about 3 times." ​3. Promised Features Did Not Work ​Before flashing, Jerry confirmed in writing: "We can also give your burbles, start stop delete, and code your exhaust flaps open all the time." ​None of these worked. Start/stop still functioned normally, and exhaust flaps continued operating by mode. After multiple attempts, he told me he would need to find an in-person "test car" to figure out how to code the file he had already charged me for. ​4. Dyno Verification: Barely Factory Power ​To rule out the "butt dyno," I paid independently to have the car run on a Mainline hub dyno. The result was 487 hp / 363 kW at the hubs. Given standard drivetrain losses on this platform, the car was effectively running at baseline factory power--completely missing the advertised 639 hp and the requested 600 hp mark. ​5. Hostile Response to Dyno Data ​I sent the dyno sheets to Eurocharged and offered to put my local dyno operators directly in touch with Jerry to log data. Jerry's response turned combative: * ​He blamed me for testing it: "I never asked you to dyno the vehicle, so any charges you incurred are from your choices." * ​He mocked my investment: "Yes, we all understand you have paid NZ$3000 for the tune, you have made that clear many times now." * ​He denied previous agreements: "Again, you never mentioned any of this before the transaction took place"--completely ignoring his own earlier email confirming start/stop delete and exhaust flap coding. * ​He deflected the lack of power: "You asked for a weaker file and that's what you got." ​Summary ​Between the missing instructions, non-functional hardware out of the box, failed features, a tune barely making factory power on the dyno, and dismissive customer service when presented with hard data, this was a massive waste of NZ$3,000. ​Dyno graph and email screenshots attached. read more

hi my name is Richard i recently drove 100 miles to Houston Texas and on the way to their shop i ran into car trouble so i called them Tiffany down at Eurocharged helped connect me through to Philip which waled me through some need to know things about my c32 AMG well i got down to the shop the folks at euro charge showed nothing but good service to me and my family i got a Ecu tune, a 65 mm pulley Tcu tune,And a two piece pulley setup they did not have time to install the pulley so i took that home and installed myself a minor setback with spacing between clutch and magnet shaft but they said they would send me schim's/spacer along with my two piece pulley setup that was not in stock at the time so Philip said they would machine them and send them to me i waited two weeks no pulleys or spacer's so i called and Tiffany to hear i would have to wait two more weeks until they ship out from some place where they have headers pulley's ect, frustrated i explained what me and Philip spoke about she spoke with him and said they would machine some pulley's up and send them my way today thanks for the good service and good solid tune hope to do more business with you in the future thanks every one down at Eurocharge. read more

i went to the dealer to get my e55 checked out because it was running rough. After Mercedes was done with their checks they came with a fix quote of 2500$ !!!!!!!!! my car has never gave me problems and it is always up to part ! so i felt that it was way too much !..... Did a little research myself and i found Eurocharged ... so i decided to go in the next day.. As soon as i open the door i was greeted and i told them about my problem... They offered to scan the car for free! after the check i spoke to one of the techs and told them about what happen at the dealer so he explained that they added alot of unnecessary things to my quote and what actually needed to be fix was no where near that price! left my car for a day to be worked on got it back the next day and it runs flawless!!!!!!!!!!! this people are top notch and honest they just gained a new customer ! will be back in a month for some upgrades !!! thank you guys read more

I researched for awhile to find a place to preform a stage 2 tune and install catless downpipes and also a dyno tune on my 2018 M6. I found Eurocharged Performance and talked to Azmi & Matt and both explained in detail on what all they would do to my baby and what I can expect from it. And will let's just say I was not disappointed!!! Totally satisfied with the work and the service and communication!!! All this was done in October of 2021. Then in July of 2022 I had Azmi & Matt install Pure Turbos Stage 2 and Stage 3 tune. And again same great service and work and communication!! Wow. Finally a shop that is honest and doesn't take advantage of females with little car knowledge.
