I explained my battery light kept flashing on and off and did they have time to visibly look at it (thinking maybe the connections may be bad). I was willing to wait if indeed the battery was the problem for a repair. It couldn't have taken more than 5 min to just look. The woman on the phone didn't ask any further questions, just dismissed me and said we don't have any openings today. Horrible customer service. Uncaring, inflexible and rude. So, I've been going to schetters for years. These new people took it over. I thought "New…read moregeneration" meant from the same family I figured they would have the same values. But I'm here to warn you. I've had a very distressing experience today. I spent $880 in cash to get my brakes front brakes front rotors and front wheel bearings. I got a discount for cash and I thought this was a really good price. Previously I had been to the new generation version of this shop to replace my muffler and they did a great job and gave me a great price so I was pretty confident going in. When I got my car back it was pulling to the left to the point where if I let go of the steering wheel I'm doing donuts. I asked them to please fix it and they told me to bring it in but they did not do alignment. My argument is that if you're doing a job that requires an alignment why would you do the job in the first place if you can't do alignment? On top of that they told me after they looked at it that the spring was broken and it would take $550 to replace it. Mind you this is how it was driving the second I pulled out of the shop. Within 10 minutes of me driving away the check engine light comes on. I checked the code it's a large evap leak. I've had this car for many years and I've never had a problem with the EVAP leak. Replace the gas cap still there's a problem. I asked them to look at this when I brought it in and they said they had to replace all these parts and that would cost over $600. From my point of view they damaged my car and are trying to ask me for money to fix the damage that they did. They fixed some things and broke some things and are trying to get me to pay to fix the things they broke. Which from other anecdotal experiences seems like a situation where I am being scammed. When I went to the shop before it was taken over by the new generation they would never have done this. Not in a million years. In fact one time I had my radiator replaced and when I went home I was still having problems when I brought it back they said it was the thermostat that also needed to be replaced and they did that for free because they had missed it and did not quote me on it. Also if for any reason something goes wrong after the work that they did especially if I'm driving home I would bring it back and they would fix it. They always told me this. I need to warn people not to go here. This is classic scamming issue with mechanics what they are doing. If it wasn't they would fix their own mistakes. And it really sucks that they use the name to piggyback off of the good reputation of the original Schetter's.

The next day Danny called me 12 times and left three messages saying "call me." I returned the call after hours and said "why are you blowing up my phone?" I never heard back. He had cleared my check engine light, saying he couldn't find any problem. Needless to say, the check engine light is back on and the car is barely drivable now. I'm taking it to a different mechanic to see what it is they missed, because they obviously missed something.
